Your medieval life sim in dangerous Bohemia as a peasant and everyone's favorite errand boy.
You get hungry, you get sleepy, you get dirty and you are illiterate.
You don't know how to fight or use any weapons. It's a great RPG that starts slow then bolts like Warhorse Jenda. One of the best zero to hero stories.
Combat is a bit weird but it matters not since the rest of the game is great.

Had fun, I guess?
A bit too long for my taste, and feels a bit unfinished in some points.
Tries to be too realistic, gets rather annoying. Food, sleep, item damage/repair, alchemy is literally cooking a recipe step by step.
Saving is very limited, outside of autosaves you can only save if you have a special item (a bit like the ink ribbons from Resident Evil).
First thing I did was get a mod to allow free saves and I am VERY thankful I did, because I had several times where my game froze or I died after a long stretch and I wouldn't have a save without the mod.
The combat system is weird. I would dare say "pretty freaking bad", but I eventually got used to it... when it WORKS???
You aim at one direction and attack, or stab. But the enemy will block nearly every attack you throw, even if you max all skills.
You have to learn how to "feint", that is described as "attack from one side, then move the swing to the other side mid move", but is more like moving the mouse like crazy and hoping it works.
Eventually enemies become too armored and too good at deflecting. 99% of the attacks you launch, even feints, will be countered, which forces you to either abuse some AI quirks or break the AI.
I eventually found out that if you defend near the enemy, you will clinch weapons. If you press a button, you will stun them for a moment, then you can quickly stab them.
Because of how stamina works, you recover it while in the animation. Enemies also never counter after this. Works 99% of the time, makes 1 on 1 fights incredibly easy.
You can also jump on a ledge, a barrel or something and just shoot them with arrows.
And don't get me started with combos. You have to hit like 3 or 4 moves in a certain order to use a special move, but since most enemies always block or counter, you NEVER get to use them.
Fighting multiple enemies is a nightmare. If your dog flees, which he will, you are screwed.
They can throw you around like a ragdoll, and you will get stunlocked with your camera spinning like crazy while they just beat you to death.
While you can only pay attention to one enemy, every enemy will circle you and hit you all at once. Getting hit resets your swing, so you basically get stunlocked either way.
If you try to run, they will always reach you and tackle you.
Damage is weird. Sometimes you will take no damage, sometimes it drains half of your health with one counter, even if you have full armor in good condition and full stamina.
And since getting hit drains both max health and stamina, if you start losing, you KEEP losing. You can't heal during combat.
Some quests are timed, but they don't tell you that. Sometimes they are timed as soon as you start them, sometimes they are timed when you reach a certain objective.
While the game looks pretty good visually, it has a severe problem with darkness.
I know there is no light bulbs on the middle ages, but its not supposed to be this dark, unless just before dawn.
I have noticed the game has a very strong adaptive exposure system and I wonder if that is part of the problem. As long as I was looking at the sky, the game would brighten up, but as soon as I looked forward, everything goes dark.
Basically forces you to wait until 7AM to see anything or have a stock of nightvision potions.
Had my share of glitches and other problems. NPCs bugging out, falling off the map, objectives not updating, quests that don't track or weren't finished.
DLC seems to be mostly fluff and not worth playing, although a few give the best equipment of the game (just barely).
Several achievements are for things that cancel each other. Virgin/Getting laid, Killing/Not killing, finishing quest one way/other way.
Some even can be missed without you even knowing. A small choice in an early quest can lock an achievement several hours later.
I had to download several QOL mods to enjoy this game better.
- Less bush collision (basically chest high walls you HAVE to go around)
- Easier sharpening minigame
- Easier to see herbs (still doesn't helps with a few)
- Faster herb gathering (no 10 second animation)
- No helm vision (using a helm blocks 70% of your vision)
- Quicksave (what the hell were they thinking?)
- Aim reticle (trying to use a bow in this game is nearly impossible)
- Stay clean longer (walking half a minute is enough to completely dirt you and reduce your charisma)
- Increased carrying capacity (even with max strength and all carrying perks, you barely handle using full armor)
- Different lockpicking graphics (minigame is the same, but the graphics help you know where to keep your mouse)
Overall, it was ok since I got it 90% off.

Ok 100% it for I think third time and I still enjoyed it! for a medieval history nerd like me it's an amazing game, buildings, cities, churches, every building is great and I enjoyed it.(for nerds like me I suggest check out the codex) I like combat system despite every one hated it Ok it's hard at first but if you just wait and learn the system you're gonna get yourself the best combat system in the entire RPG games. and story, it's great I mean there are better stories specially in RPG games but I love Main Quest and Side Quest I played cyberpunk 2077 recently and I saw many gamers said now it's one of the best rpgs of all time but I think they didn't play kcd side quests. every side quest can be an expansion now days.and Man Quest is obsessively great I have my problems with ending that they didn't gave us the proper ending. music is great too I think it gets repetitive over time but overall it's good. overall I suggest everyone play this game with all dlc.

OMG!!! Where has this game been all my life?! I can’t believe I waited years to play it. Clearly, I’ve been making poor life choices. But hey, better late than never …

Best medieval RPG with an immersive experience of a "rags to riches" element.
KCD stands out for its immersive gameplay and engaging combat along with its accurate historical background of 14th century Bohemia with a detailed open world and great atmosphere.
🏰 Kingdom Come: Deliverance - A Medieval Adventure to Remember
What I Played: Spent hours exploring the vast medieval world, perfecting combat skills, and navigating moral dilemmas in intense quests.
The Good:

The attention to detail in the game world is jaw-dropping, from the architecture to the landscapes. I felt like I was truly immersed in medieval Bohemia.

The combat system is tough but once you get the hang of it, it's incredibly satisfying. I found myself improving my skills and strategizing each battle.

Quests feel impactful and offer meaningful choices, making me ponder over my decisions. It's not just about slashing enemies; there's depth to the narrative.

The world feels alive with dynamic NPCs going about their daily routines. It adds a layer of realism that enhances the whole experience.
The Bad:

Some bugs here and there, but nothing game-breaking. A little immersion-breaking, but nothing a quick reload couldn't fix.

The learning curve can be steep, especially for newcomers to RPGs. I stumbled a bit initially, but once I got the hang of things, it was smooth sailing.

The save system could be frustrating at times, especially during long quests when a sudden death means replaying a big chunk of content. A quicksave option would've been handy.

I encountered some AI quirks that took away from the realism. NPCs walking into walls or behaving oddly broke the immersion occasionally.
Verdict: Recommended - Dive into a historical epic with meaningful choices, challenging combat, and a world that feels alive. If you're into RPGs that immerse you in a captivating story, this is your jam.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance, or what a medieval Bethesda game would look like (if Bethesda games were good).
The title says it all, really. KCD felt like I was playing a Bethesda game, except the game actually had a soul and you could feel the passion the devs put into it. Let's start with the good parts:
Pros:
- Cutscenes - Jesus Christ be praised, the cutscenes are where this game stands out. It must have been where a large part of the budget was spent, because their quality and atmosphere was a notch above the rest of the game.
- World Design - Yet another aspect of the game where the budget was clearly focused. Beautiful designs of the villages and castles that made the game's world feel truly alive.
- Writing - The dialogues were written very engagingly, and felt pretty realistic. Not to mention the humour. There were many times during my playthrough where the dialogue made me laugh out loud, which is something I can rarely say about any game. Just goes to show that our Czech brothers simply excel at writing comedy.
- Characters - Entertaining and interesting characters, including Henry himself. They all feel like real people (and some of them technically are lol), and the game makes you want to root for them. Not the antagonists of course, screw those guys.
Now onto the bad stuff:
Cons:
- Bugs - This is where all the Bethesda comparisons come from. I don't think there was a single hour in my playthrough where I didn't come across at least one bug. Most of them didn't really matter much, but there were a couple that were incredibly frustrating, and sometimes even got in the way of completing quests, forcing me to reload older saves.
- Combat - The combat is another controversial part of the game, often turning new players away, with them usually citing it as too hard. Granted, it is hard in the beginning, which plays into the game's realism aspect, since the main character is the son of a blacksmith that's never held a sword in his hands before. Over the course of the game however he gets better at fighting and the combat becomes easier. At some point I even started to enjoy it. The 1v1 combat, that is. As soon as you find yourself in a situation where you have to fight multiple enemies alone, you might as well consider yourself dead, unless the enemies have little to no armor and you have high quality equipment. The enemies will basically rush directly at you, with no regard for spacing and the like and just pommel you to death. To put it simply, the combat was clearly designed for duels, not for fights against multiple opponents.
- Quest Design - I won't speak about the side quests, since I did very few of those, but I want to address the main quests. Some of them are pretty damn great, while others are too long for their own good, often made up of nothing more than fetching items for NPCs.
Verdict:
Overall, the game felt like it had great potential, but the studio simply didn't have the time and resources to fulfill their vision. Which is probably exactly what happened, and thanks to the success of KCD1, the studio was able to go all out for KCD2. Any parts of the game I didn't mention, such as the story, were simply decent and I didn’t feel like they stood out as particularly bad or particularly good. I'm glad I played through this game, although there were certainly some unnecessarily frustrating parts that almost made me regret buying it.

One of my favorite games of all time. A little slow and overwhelming at the beginning but after that it just won't stop being good. Heavily recommend.
However, this review is a little bit biased and there's 2 reasons why:
1. I am a huge history nerd.
2. I am literally Czech. The region where this game takes place is not far away from here. I could walk there if I wanted to.

What an epic, truly remarkable. The game feels quite clumsy at first, but once you get sucked in, there's no turning back. Highly recommended!

One of the most realistic medieval RPGs I’ve ever played. No magic, no dragons—just pure history, survival, and swordsmanship. The world feels alive and immersive. A must for RPG fans!
