1000+ hours combined from console and PC, I can recommend this game with both eyes closed. Monster Hunter: World is a great game, honestly, the best in the series. They removed the Nintendo exclusivity and brought it to every platform, which is fantastic, allowing more gamers to enjoy this amazing franchise! Better than both Rise and Wilds in most ways (my opinion), this game's combat is greatly balanced and incredibly fun. With over 10 weapon types, it covers all playstyles, from ranged combat with Bowguns to heavy-hitting Greatswords! If you're looking to pick up a game where you enjoy bashing monsters with your friends (or even random players), then you're in the right place! Monster Hunter: World is very active on Steam, with most lobbies being full! If you're a solo act, this game also works great, I've been solo most of my console hunts due to bad internet, and it still held up great! TL;DR: Monster Hunter: World is the best in the series (IMO). Tons of weapon variety, fun combat, active community on Steam, and great for both solo and co-op. 10/10!

I largely enjoyed my time with this game, but now that I've actually played better MH games, World does not hold up. It features too many repeated movesets that aren't interesting or varied in any way. So many monsters use the exact same full body charge or shoulder check animation, it was good at the time but now having played a game with actual REAL variation, it leaves a lot to be desired. The difficulty's not there either, only fatalis and alatreon pose any meaningful difficulty and alatreon is only because he's a gimmick fight with a wipe. Also, just the lack of an end-game, once you have fatalis gear everything else is meaningless to use. Again, I did enjoy my time with it, but I find myself hardpressed to recommend it or even come back to it, it feels so bad now.

Loved the game upon initially playing, but thinking back to my experience makes me unable to recommend. My main gripe is how dry the roster is, and how the game feels more like a fantasy inspired Jurassic Park game, rather than Monster Hunter. There are much better Monster Hunter rosters out there, and having played 3U, 4U, and Gen Ult, I'd much rather recommend those, or Wilds (If you have good specs) than World specifically. That's not to say the game is terrible. It runs great, some of the introductions are well loved. The DLC reintroduces my favourite monster of all time (Yian Garuga). The endemic life are very cute. The Lynians are super charming. But as a whole, it feels like a game trying its best to drag out its content through tedious tracking, and fighting with scoutflies to locate the monster. I might feel pushed to recommend it to older fans of the franchise who may have more attachment to the world, and gameplay. However, if I were to recommend a Monster Hunter game to someone completely unfamiliar with Monster Hunter, there are plenty of much better options I fear. PS. Stunlocking a monster for an entire fight by throwing rocks at it, and crashing it into a walls feels less of a fight and more of a highschool simulator with freaky dinosaur skins than a Monster Hunter game.

Great game, but not friendly for new players in 2025. With so many added monsters and gear, it’s confusing to know what to farm or what weapons to use. Damage feels low, and you constantly rely on others to carry you. Everyone just says “go full Fatalis,” which kills the fun for newcomers. I regret buying it this late.

It's in general an incredible game with beautiful vibrant worlds to explore, cool enemies, a huge number of interesting weapons to craft with deep and complex movesets. But if you specifically want to play through together with your friends, it's designed to be extremely annoying and repeatedly waste your time. If you plan on playing story together, everyone needs to start the quest separately, then when everyone has seen the cutscene, everyone but one person needs to quit and join the other player. If that sounds very stupid, it is. It would be so easy and trivial to fix, but they have shown no interest in doing so.

Very enjoyable, the clutch claw was the only thing that felt outright bad, but the rest was good

There are lots of different creatures besides the monsters, i like to capture them. Btw don't use the defender gear in the early game, its too strong and you won't learn the fundamentals!

First off, the game looks amazing. The monsters are huge, detailed, and just straight-up badass. The environments feel alive, and every hunt is an adventure. But what really caught me is how smooth the combat feels, especially once you get into a rhythm with your weapon of choice. It’s got depth, but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Now, I know a lot of people used to avoid this game because of the grind. And yeah, it was a bit much at launch. But honestly? That’s really changed. You can progress a lot easier now without spending hours upon hours farming the same monster. It’s way more friendly to new and casual players. I was so into it that I grabbed the Iceborne DLC too—and I’m glad I did. Not only does it add a ton of new content, but it also introduces the Clutch Claw (a grapple mechanic), which adds a cool layer to combat. It lets you combo into monsters better and just feels super satisfying to use. If you’re picking this up now, the bundle is such a good deal. You can get the base game plus the DLC for like ₹999, which is a steal for the amount of content you're getting. Honestly, the game is easily a 9.5/10 for me. Whether you’re a long-time fan or someone curious to jump in, Monster Hunter: World is totally worth your time now. Just be ready to fall in love with hunting giant monsters.
