One of the earlier TSW DLCs and unfortunately one of the worst.
If you've come hear for the passenger services, unfortunately, I do not recommend this, the services are as simple as can be back and forth. The modeling is pretty poor, Penn especially is very very bland.
The safety systems on the ACS-64 are rather inacurate, and cause you to have to go 15mph through the whole Huddson tunnels.
The freight services on the other hand are more interesting, if not a little short. However, you'll get far more value out of CSX Heavy haul for your money.

This is the only route that is NOT going to be ported to TSW2 as a part of preserved collection.
So only buy this if you are going to play it on train sim world 2020
Train sim world 2 is coming august 20th

I am not from the US, but I love the northeast corridor, I have read so much about it and Amtrak and really wished to have a better looking version in this game as I have a lot of the dlc's for Railworks that have parts of the corridor either route or stock. Sadly I feel cheated after preordering this. The section that has been picked makes no sense, it feels like a demo. There is no feel that I am going from A to B, because the terminus stations that have been picked are not terminus stations. I can not really recomend this, it's just a waste of money. It just looks good and that's about it. The trains are very silent, they feel like maglevs not like steel wheel on steel track classic train. I can only asume that Dovetail's plan is to releas routes in sections now and just sell parts of it. I can see that working for Eurotruck, but here? I hope I am wrong and there was something else behind but as of now I will not be investing in this game anymore. I had big hopes that at least now I could see some nice US passanger railroading in a more optimized better looking game and even better, on the northeast corridor with highspeed, but it seems that spending money on a better PC in the future that could plow throug the old and rusty Railworks is a better compromise than investing in this "next gen money makeing simulator".

By far the worst DLC in this entire game, everything about it is just awful with the exception of the ACS64. East River cab signalling is still broken to this day where if you enable the safety systems, you have to crawl through the tunnels at a snail's pace, the scenery looks dated with periodic texture collision issues, and the AI traffic is just to spawn trains every 15 minutes. Only redeeming qualities of this route is that the ACS64 is modeled very well, and there is a freight sandbox mode where you can drive wherever you want.
Would avoid at all cost, but if you must purchase this, then do so at a steep discount. More than a year has passed with this DLC, yet Day 1 issues still exist, with no indication that they will be fixed.

Would not pay full price for this at all there is no life at all no people, no cars on roads, hardly any getiing on and of train. Buy other full game instead of this DLC. The sound is dreadful.
Thumbs down at DTG with yet other overpriced DLC not very good at the moment. Not putting the real engine to good use as it should be.

Now sold as separate DLC after the update to TSW2020.
I sadly cannot recommend this route.
The ACS-64 loco and GP38-2 are beauties and well modeled but there the positives end.
The whole route is full of errors, not bugs per se but you can clearly see visuals are just incorrect.
Floating objects, missing signals, AWS not working properly, speed limits jump up and down all over the route. Speed up, slow down, no speed down more, no wait its 90 again... Very annoying. Speed limits are also impossible to read, I just use the HUD on this route instead.
There are places where the catenary runs without supports or just goes straight through buildings, places were supports go straight into other buildings etc.
New York Penn station has several support columns that are to close to the tracks, so you glitch through them. Also some platforms in Penn Station are too close to the track so the train glitches through them.
Again, nothing game breaking but it really hurts immersion.
The quality of the route is just subpar and really needs an overhaul.
Might update this review if it gets fixed.

Lots of bugs. Train physics is way off, still one year after release of the main game.
This was the last DLC i bought from Dovetail Games.

I recommend this DLC with serious reservations. It drives well, has good graphics, covers interesting terrtory, and has decent frame rates. However, the length of the line is very disappointing, the brakes are awful, and it takes forever to gain speed. I must say, I'm glad I bought it during the presale for $18 and not the full price. I might suggest that instead of bringing out new, limited DLCs, the developers spend some time filling out all these partial lines. Not one of them offers anywhere near the full line they imply is to be there. This one, for example, indicates a line running from Washington to Boston. Are you kidding? You can actually drive the length of the existing line in fifteen minutes for God's sake. (it just occurred to me that I paid more than a dollar a minute. Guess I need to run it a dozen times to get my money's worth.) So, in my opinion this one has its appeals, but surely is no bargain at full price. If someday the line actually runs from Washington to Boston we'd have a winner. Don't hold your breath.

after 1 hour of playing it seemed good. But then I realized how broken almost ALL of the sounds on the acs are, the horn has no reverb/echo, the bell when stopped just clips an audio file so it sounds very unrealistic, the whining was on point but WAY too muffled, no switch passing noises, 3rd person and 1st person audio is the exact same even when passing in freecam. Now don't get pissed at me yet DTG because i'm very impressed that you fixed tunnel lighting!
The map, the GP38-yn3, and the general vibe of the map is much better than all of the other ones

I think it maaaay be worth it at a reduced price...I'm giving it a thumbs up with the following warnings:
Positives:
+ Good frames rates on a decent PC
+ Detailed cabins
+ Has not crashed
+ Lots of buildings & roads
Fixed after launch:
+ Freight services have been added
Negatives:
- Clouds look bad
- Water looks bad
- The rubber hoses on the trains twang out into the distance (still not fixed since CSX Heavy Haul)
- No Free Roam
- No Quick Drive equivalent, so you cannot start a scenario from a station and time of your choosing easily
- No moving road vehicles
- No pedestrians on pavements outside the stations
- Cannot walk between platforms at Penn Station
- Trains are very quiet
- Stations are very quiet (no announcements)
- No announcements in the train
- Passengers are very quiet (no chatter, footsteps etc)
- No Scenario/Build Editor
- Short route
- Buildings are mostly fairly the same, so become uninteresting quick
- Career scoring pointless/uninteresting
- When you zoom in in cabin view (with one mouse wheel scroll up), it zooms a little too far (TS18 zooms by smaller increments and allows finer control)
- Locos do not shake or wobble left/right by even a millimeter during travel
- Railway sleepers visibly render 10 yards ahead
- Rear lights from the locos shine through the carriages they are pulling
- Lacks 'soul' due to the above negatives, with a bit of spit and polish this could be great
