An astonishing step up from Chains of Satinav: much less in the way of annoying puzzles and a much more engaging and moving story. This deals with themes about who gets remembered by history and who gets deliberately left out and forgotten so if you enjoyed the likes of Wicked or Heaven's Vault you'll get a lot out of this.

I played this game years ago, and what I remember most was how annoyed the ending made me. I loved the worldbuilding, loved the characters, and while some of the puzzles were frustrating I did enjoy most of them. And then in the last three minutes that game called me a selfish asshole & had my player character voice only selfish reasons for breaking the curse we'd spent the entire game trying to break when I had literally just thought "We've seen amnesia doesn't have to be permanent, so I shouldn't give up on her." Did not play the first game, so maybe I'm missing something, and who knows maybe I'm remembering wrong. I was just going through my library and saw that I'd never left the review on this I meant to all that time ago when I got to the end of the game and chose to break the curse only to have my MC talk about his girlfriend as a trophy he'd earned and the game call me selfish for trying to help her.
