If you're using bluetooth audio the game, on launch, will switch bluetooth audio to hands-free mode which goes from stereo to mono and degrades quality. This has apparently been an issue for several years, remains unsolved, and is only resolvable by disabling a Windows service. I've spent more time trying to resolve this issue than playing the game.

What i have encountered since this collection was launched... - connection issues when partying up with friends (must go through the game's own invite/friend/follow system) - game can become unplayable if other devices are connected to your computer (pen tablets, controllers, etc.) - "alt+tabbing" can get lock your computer on a black screen (only fix was to hard resetting computer) TLDR: bugged but great game if it works

Garbage microsoft sign in just to play a video game. Couldn't get passed it. Wouldn't recommend to anyone as long as that is there.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is like a time-traveling space opera where you shoot aliens, punch things really hard, and occasionally get lost because you're too busy admiring the remastered graphics. If you've never played Halo, don’t worry, Master Chief doesn’t talk much either, so you're in good company. Think of it as a greatest hits album for a guy in green armor who solves intergalactic problems with a rocket launcher. Campaigns are epic, multiplayer is chaos (i got t-bagged on my first PvP match), and yes, you will accidentally betray your co-op buddy at least once.

Halo is the time tested success of the gaming industry. Halo 4 isn’t so great but its inclusion in the MCC is good and I will overlook it because all the rest of the games are solid gold. MCC is alright, other than there is no split screen local coop. Why? We don’t know. This is the staple of Halo and has been since its first release. Anyways, you need this.

Ever since i started playing video games I've been hearing about Halo and what an amazing franchise it is, after finally playing through the games in this collection i can say they were right. These are some of the best first person shooters I've ever played. From great level design, engaging combat and a phenomenal soundtrack to a great story with deep lore, Halo has it all. The original trilogy is honestly a perfect story, in Halo 1 you are thrown into this mysterious world and gradually understand what is happening. The second game starts with another side to the story as you learn more about the covenant, while also continuing where Halo 1 left of. 2's campaign is just brilliant and provides us with two different perspectives while expanding upon the story and finally in Halo 3 everything comes to a satisfying conclusion. Halo3:ODST is also set between 2 and 3 and while i think it's the weakest game in the collection it is still interesting and bridges the gap between 2 and 3. Then there is Halo Reach, a prequel to Halo 1 and god it is fantastic. If you play the trilogy first you know what's gonna happen here but that doesn't make any less impactful and as the get closer to the end everything unfolds. It's the last game made by Bungie and they delivered a great sendoff. Lastly there is Halo 4 which i actually liked quite a lot. It tells a stand alone tale and wraps it up in a satisfying way but the standout here is the relationship between Cortana and Chief which was never touched this deeply. These two are so good it makes the whole game worthwhile. There is also a ton of replayability with different playlists, collectibles and lore terminals (which are essential for understanding the deeper lore), skulls and the multiplayer which is still active. Honestly 6 good games for the price of one is worth it and if you are interested in a fun shooter with great story and tons of content it is a must play for you.

this review is not about the games, they are great. This is about the shady bullshit microsoft puts you through in order to play a game you might have paid 40$ beforehand. Dont think you can just start this up and start playing, no, no, no. first you need to have a microsoft accout, if you currently dont have one, well fuck you i guess. then you have to hope the microsoft server spirits are with you today, otherwise, well fuck you again. You might think to yourself, 'but I just want to play the stories without online features, well you probably guessed it by this point, fuck you again, if your account isnt already linked, you paid 40$ for a loadingscreen and i have to admit a pretty nice audiotrack You might even think, 'i just run offline mode', nope even in offline mode you are supposed to log in, even tho its not connected to the internet, first you need to link your account buying this game on steam isnt proof enough to allow you to play. so If you are fine with all that bullshit, go for it, otherwise i cant recommend this.
