✅ Dark, brutal world, inspired by Spanish religious horror. ✅ Satisfying combat, mix of Soulslike difficulty and Metroidvania exploration. ✅ Beautiful pixel art, detailed and haunting. ✅ Deep lore, rich with symbolism and mystery. ✅ Challenging but fair, tough bosses and platforming sections. ❌ Backtracking can be tedious, especially with no fast travel early on. ❌ Storytelling is cryptic, might need extra effort to fully understand. Final Verdict: 8.5/10 – A stunning and brutal Metroidvania with deep lore and challenging combat. If you love dark fantasy, it’s a must-play.

probably the only metroidvania game I will ever play, the dark religious lore, the soundtracks, the art, the gameplay, hell yeah.

For the love of the Miracle, use the Blasphemous Wiki. It's not a shame and you will have a 100% better experience with the game. Also be prepared for a second play through, because you will miss a lot of things which is going to be irreversible. 10/10

This game makes me appreciate Hollow Knight more. The whole maps are designed to annoy you with tons of obnoxious designs, the buggy ledge grab that does not work 50% of the time while falling from the edge means instant death, which makes you rerun the whole map while putting unskippable mobs in between. Souls-like games do not mean a game that handicaps you, but rather putting well-crafted design that makes the player feel challenged. This game just put the most annoying mob/trap/mechanism at the perfect place that will ruin you game experience without testing your skill. The dodge is another poor design. With no indication about what can be dodged and what can not. It's basically trial and error. Sometimes you can dodge through a mob sometimes you can't, sometimes you take damage sometimes you don't. Like can you at least make the mechanism consistent?

My first 2D Metroidvania game, It was better than I expected! The lore and soundtrack in this game go crazy, and the aesthetics and character design are phenomenal. I had an amazing time playing this game, except i got the bad ending out of 3 which sucks but that how things go sometimes. Anyways, it's a great game, and I'll definitely play Part 2 sometime in the near future.

This is a niche game, but very well executed. It is pixel arts, but the character animations is nicely done. The colour palette are a little bit meh at times, but for the most part it looks great, and play great. Tight controls with good boss fights and plenty of enemies. There is definitely a learning curve, as you need to pick up tons of relics and upgrade your character. It does feel like we start the game with an underpowered character but after 3 hours of playtime, it gets more enjoyable. Soundtrack is great and contribute to the atmosphere, a few tracks really standout. Altough the sound quality is maybe not all that great; it seems to lack a bit of dynamics. I am afraid it was overcompressed a bit, but the whole game does fit in 900MB. The negative part are the secrets, how they are laid out and the absence of hints. There are some really obscure side quests in this game. It has to do with the fact you often need to offer some particular relics but can't exactly know which one until you have it in hands and try to make an offer. It's one of those game were you can actually mess up your save game which will prevent you from obtaining the true ending, forcing you to restart from scratch. That sucks but the game still remains solid, overall. It's not going to be a game for everyone, it's quite unique. But if you are big metroidvania enthusiast, you will most likely enjoy it in the end.

I installed the demo thinking it was another game juts to find out this is highly better than whatever I was originally looking for. bought the game just an hour into the demo. Main hook for me is the atmosphere and world building. Really grimm and intriguing. The combat is well balanced and challenging. And unlocking skills is rewarding because it really makes a difference on the combat power. Following along quests or using quest items might be confusing. It requires a lot of description reading and imagination. Overall is highly recommended

Beautiful on OLED and the art direction is well defined making this metrovania stand out. The game gets difficult but not impossible I get a little further every time. I might slip to 2 but that is a hard choice

If you're someone who is into playing games like those from the dark souls universe and hollow knight etc you'll love this game. If you're someone who doesn't play in that genre and prefers a more casual game, PLEASE DO NOT GET THIS GAME. The number of times this game has almost made me cry is not even funny anymore (Specifically the Miriam mirror shard challenges, for those who know) but I feel like I grew as a person and realized that in real life you will face problems that will seem impossible to get over but if you stay consistent, keep working hard and change your approach to things a bit, do some research and change your way of looking at things, you can do anything.
