Train Simulator: Donner Pass: Southern Pacific Route Add-On DLC

When you think of the Southern Pacific, you're usually thinking about the famous 4449, their daylight passenger trains, and Donner Pass oh my. In real life, it's a beautiful place. But in Train Sim Classic, it certainly didn't come out well. Why is that you may ask? Hmmmm let's see. Cons: -The scenarios. Okay, I don't mind long scenarios in general, but these are too long. And if that wasn't bad enough, the timetables are ridiculous, as there's no realistic way to finish the journey and keep to time without infractions like speeding or wheelslip. -The rolling stock. They're basically reskins of those cars from Cajon Pass, and as a result, they're noticeably cheap, inaccurate representations of Southern Pacific rolling stock. -The locomotives, especially the SD40-2s/T-2s and GP9s. The problem being is that many of the SD40s, like other SP motive power back in the day, had Mars Lights. The SD40s here don't. Nor do the GP9s, whos 'Mars Lights' act as normal headlights, so they're just for show. And let's not forget that the locos are also poorly shaded. -Mediocre assets, mostly with recycled crossing signals and switches and what not. On the flip side, there are a few bright spots, such as: -The scenery, which is fine, especially in wintertime. -Some of the locos, such as the C44-9Ws and Black Widow F7s and SP coaches (despite having bland interiors) To put it all in a nutshell, this route has to be one of the worst add-ons in Train Simulator Classic in my opinion. Unfortunately, even the few pros about it like the scenery and some of the engines/rolling stock weren't enough to save it from a low grade. Therefore, I'm gonna have to rate this route a 3/10.
