I love the actual train route, but I can name many things wrong with the simulator route. For one, Philadelphia, Newark, and New York are under the station but you can't see the platform or stations on most of the stations. You also derail a lot because the speed limits change. acela and aem-7 don't work with raildriver and shakes a lot when driving on the route. It is a nice route to have but if you are thinking about getting this route, get the NEC: New York -New Haven. it is waaayy better. I do not reccomend this route unless you want the aem-7 and the amfleets.

i just bought this and its a great DLC, if you are having things like floating signals or missing stations go for the 64bit client and the highest scene complexity and this will fix it without impacting FPS

We'll this route definitely has some pretty interesting pros and cons. So let's get into it. Most of the cons are justifiable as well, (I'll explain why).
Pros:
- Lengthy and well-aged route (means performance is great).
- AEM-7 is good for an old loco, I'd love an upgrade though.
- Amfleet cars seem to be identical to the NYNH ones, except they lack passenger view.
- Signalling seems to be better than the NYNH route. More simple for the cab-signal noob like me.
- A great project for route-builders to tackle and fix the cons. (I am currently working on track upgrades and catenary replacement).
Cons:
- The bumpiness! This isn't the Penn Central era for goodness' sake! I went to the editor and looked at the uneveness of track. "20, okay, that's the same as the B&LE route and not the 50 I had heard before." I thought to myself. But it does get annoying when you're rocking along at 110 mph.
- Surprise speed limits. Apparently my first guess is that RSC's idea back in 2011 was for people to rely on the cab signalling and not the F3 HUD. Therefore the HUD says 80-90 mph while the in-cab signal display says 60 or a lower number, (go for 60). But I have a glitch where the F3 HUD's speed equals the speed of the freight speed limit on the cab signal display while the passenger display either says -- or 20-45 mph. So I was registered as a freight engine in the game?
- The aesthetics. It's gray and bland, period. Scenery replacement is on the list for my enhancement of the route. The NYNH route is so much more vibrant and colorful while this one's...gray. Even the sky is beige? (The old tracks don't help much either). The AEM-7's old texturing makes it kinda light colored and less rich than the ACS-64. When I started putting down the TSA- USA track (which looks like NEC track) it looked so much better.
- ONLY THE AEM-7!
In new routes you often get a few engines like the NYNH route has a CSX SD40-2 (AI) and the ACS-64, but all you get is Amtrak equipment!!! Not even a BR Class 101 reskinned into an ALP-46 or a Class 375 as a Silverliner V! (That'd be a desperate move...) All those poor commuters who can only see the Amtrak express train go by their station.
But fear not! Now we have ALP-46s, Comet cars, Bilevels, arrow IIIs, Silverliner IVs for septa (reskin Arrow III), Septa ACS-64s, Septa AEM-7s, and NJT-leased Amtrak AEM-7s!**

Post-Edit
- A way to fix floating scenery is to make sure you have your scenery bar in the settings at full density.
- Fanrailer's Mods should fix the AEM-7.
- **Also, I forgot to do a fact check with the NJT AEM-7, they never owned any because EMD pulled the AEM-7 off their catalogue before NJT could purchase any. Therefore, they got ABB ALP-44s instead, (an AEM-7 2.0 of sorts).

Comes with the AEM-7 and is pretty useful for workshop scenarios and routes. Scenarios are alright but the route looks iffy (makes sense since this was one of DTG's first routes). I use this route in a revamped format, but it's still good if you're just using it for assets or want to travel along the NEC from NY to PHL.

If you enjoy US routes, and especially US passenger routes, of which there are criminally few, you're going to love this one. I may be an old one, but it is a long route, and it features some of the most realistically long-haul scenarios out there. If you buy it, make sure to get FanRailer's physics and sound update, but nix the physics, as they break the engine - stick with only the sounds, since the default ones are quite horrid. I also strongly recommend this route to anyone who has the Armstrong Powerhouse night lighting upgrade pack as it makes the 120 minute Philadelphia to NY Penn scenario one of the most engagingly wonderful ones in the entirety of Train Simulator's library.
As for the bad, well...the cab of the AEM-7 is still pretty dreadful. It has a lot more functionality, but there's a lot to be desired anyway. Shadows disappear at random depending on your zoom level when you've the cab lights on, and there's a lot to be said about the general lack of forward visibility, but seeing as this is a route with in-cab signalling, you could drive this hudless, using only the F1 display and the blinds pulled all the way down just fine, as all you'll really need in the way of speed limits is already inside the cab. The lack of a passenger views, and the four-wagon consists (as opposed to the realistic six-wagon ones) still show that this route has a long way to go.
Another important point is that you'll sometimes get speed limits sprung on you out of nowhere, they don't even show up on the F3 landing strip HUD, so be wary of that, but there's only about two that I can count. The train physics are fairly good, including accurate wheel slippage (so don't throttle it up to max right off the bat) and a good amount of traction loss when it is raining. The route is also excellent for quick drive, and the issues that the ACS-64 had with it have been resolved, so now you can effectively drive any stock with in-cab signalling on it just fine.
Scenery-wise, it is very good, albeit a bit sparse in places. Thankfully, this has been designed with a very intelligent formula in mind, insofar as the sparse parts are usually the ones with the highest speed limits, so with the AEM-7's terrible forward visibility, you won't be staring at anything empty-looking for too long to begin with.
All ina ll, if you can, pick this route up on discount, or if you're really passionate about US passenger routes, as I am, it may very well be worth the full price, especially with the undending dreath of scenarios available for it on the Workshop.
Overall, a very good route, and one which I thoroughly recommend for all Amtrak fans, high-speed rail fans, and really anyone else who owns the Acela Express addon.
P.S. If you're reading this and you're good at making scenarios for Train Simulator, please make one for the HHP-8 for this route, I'd kill for it. Thanks.

Northeast Corridor the route itself is good but the scenarios are riddled with speed limit issues. They are playable but you have to save a lot and just about after each light because you never know when you will pass up a lower speed limit with no warning. It is annoying and takes all the fun out of the scenarios. I literally gave up and accepted check marks just so I could at least say I finished them. If you don't care about the scenario problems, the route itself is decent. Plenty of high speed moments and you get a really nice electric train. The Acela Express DLC has the same problems with it's scenarios but I also recommend getting it regardless. It is a fast and fun train.

This route is fun to drive. It is fun running the high speed Amtrak trains up and down between Philly and New York(and sometimes freight between other areas). The route includes an AEM-7 with accurately made cab and desgin along with detailed amfleet passenger cars with good sounds. The locomotive horn is the same as the SW1500 horn which has a long loop! The route has many NJT and SEPTA stations but none of that stock has been made for the route. The route is also poorly detailed in alot of areas such as an important intermodal yard in New Jersey just outside NY. This route is not the best! I sill recommend it because it can be fun to drive. DTG also created the section of the NEC from NY to New Haven which is better detailed(and I will review it because I want it for Christmas!) which has the new Amtrak ACS-64 and CSX SD40-2 along other locos made for it including Metro-North!

This is a real nice DLC Pack. I enjoy running the Fast Amtrak services, only thing is the consist's. they are set for 4-5 cars. Amtrak runs 6-7-8 carred services here. But this will make your heart race as fast as these trains!

You shouldn't get this route in 2019 unless you are on a mission. Recommended for utility and experience, but that's it.
(+) The AEM-7 is great to learn NEC signaling.
(+) The route was updated in 2016 - I didn't have signaling issues (yet).
(-) Just about acceptable graphics - I can't even get close to the product page screenshots.
(-) A few (4) surprise speed limits - have a notebook at hand. One scenario with entirely off timings.
If you like this section...
- Get North Jersey Coast Line & Morristown first. It covers the Northern 20 miles in better quality, is fairly fast, and offers NJT trains.
- Get New York - New Haven afterwards. Much prettier, albeit slower.
- If at this point you have an itch to drive the ACS-64 and Acela at higher speeds, try the AEM-7 or the GG1, this route offers plenty of 110mph running. If you are willing to replace some trains (to ALP-45, 46, Acela, HHP-8, ACS-64, CSX, NS freight) in the scenarios, that won't even be boring.
The workshop has plenty of scenarios, but many of them include items not available anymore.
