In my opinion this is a bit of a lazy route done by DTG , RSN Is a much better route with more detail and overall just better! I would recommend that instead of this for a German route, It still a good looking route but nothing really new apart from the helping of the hill climb thing which is really not very interesting anyhow. When you do a passenger service there is no time needed to get to that station just shows the next station and no due in time. As I said RSN Is a much better route rather give this one a miss, its not badly priced but nothing new.

A solid route with the best AI density seen yet in service mode, this cant be overstated enough. The traffic density is spot on for the first time and really aids service mode come to life for the first time, lets hope this is the new trend moving forward.
The route length however is on the shorter side and the landscape detail level compared with RSN can be disappointing with shiny hill sides and rather ugly 2d assets standing out as an eyesore.
Signaling so far has been solid so its an easy recommendation if your into German content.

little shorter than RSN but i think really nicely done. the up and down grades add a nice challenge, specially for freight. the moving cars on the road are a nice addition as well. nothing much new for the rolling stock. still i would recommend.

So far the best DLC this game has to offer. Almost everything is done right:
- very good graphics
- very good physics [ acceleration, braking(train weight, train lenght) ]
- a lot of high quality locos and wagons (yes they are recycled and upgraded vehicles from RSN but who cares)
- a lot of services and they are actually good (freight includes banking and double loco setups, passenger isnt boring and quite a lot of fun with all rolling stock working as intended)
- the line itself is alive!!! Trains are moving non-stop on this route every 2 minutes in all directions: freight, passenger, solo banking locos. Everything is working properly so You have feeling that it is real world simulation. I think from 10am to 5pm there are at least 15 moving trains at every given time on this route.
- PZB is working properly 95% of the time
- signaling is also working properly 90% of the time
To summarise this is great DLC and it is worth the price. If You already have RSN this is GREAT addition!
In fact I am shocked that DGT managed to implement everything in this DLC (graphics, physics, map, simulation of trains going as planned in time table) and it actually works almost perfectly. Only thing is missing is Time Table in passenger mode (now you dont have time goals and they will add it in near future).

Good route overall, but there is a lot of bugs at the moment, if they do not get fixed within a reasonable period of time they I will update this review with a negative rating.

There's a few bugs but honestly I still haven't found anything which doesn't allow me to fully enjoy this DLC.
In my opinion, this has been the best DLC DTG has made for TSW. I enjoy a lot driving the local passenger trains as well as the freight trains. The other day I've streamed TSW for the 1st time with this DLC and I've had a lot fun hopping on freight trains after I drove a passenger train in both directions of the route.
I will be looking forward to have more rolling stock for this route and hopefully also some sort of extention in the future. However, the current route distance is just OK ( you still spend about almost an hour driving a local train from one side to another ).
TLDR; I fully recommend this DLC!

Wonderful route with potential to get to speeds of 160km/h. The 185.2 has been reworked, just as the freight cars. Doing freight services is actually demanding now. The 146.2, although similar to the 185, does feel different to it.
It's feels great to accelerate to 130 - 140 km/h a lot of the time and hear the sound of the 146, just to brake a few kiometres later.
The moving cars on the roads and the new PIS ( train destination displays) result in a realistic feeling environment, potentially the most realistic as of now!
What else is there to say? Oh yeah, if you own Ruhr-Sieg Nord the 143 from RSN will be substituted into MSB, which means it will appear in place of other locos and can be used in services in both passenger and freight. Besides that you can choose between the Railion and the DB Red livery for the 185.
Current issues with the route: 2 wrong speed signs, stuck trains in service mode
The latter of this is what bothers me at the moment, though this will be fixed in the near future, hopefully. Notice: this is by far not every service, just enough to make you feel frustrated when you pick one of few that do get stuck and you are 2 km ahead of your final destination...
All in all visually very appealing route with nice scenery, great rolling stock -the little variation of the rolling stock is balanced by the accurate recreation of it. -->Better less rolling stock in total but more in-depth imo
Recommended !
EDIT: DTG Hotfixed the service mode issue on the next day after it has been released,
making this one of the best service modes so far. Busy route with lots of variations in
what you encounter, especially freight

TO BE CLEAR: All TSW routes are better than TS2019 routes, so just because I gave this one a thumbs down does not mean that it is a bad route, just not up to the same TSW standard. And there are many cool things about this route. The lighting and atmosphere is stunning and the street traffic and display boards are a nice addition. But there are some real cons.
And with that, on to my full review.
This is pretty much the same DLC as RSN (the last German route). Same trains, same cars, indistinguishable line. This is unacceptable for the price. At this stage of TSW all new routes should have new locos and new environments. If you don't already have RSN then this DLC is the better German option, but if you do have RSN then this route will feel painfully similar. I love TSW but I want a wider collection of routes. This is already the third German route.
If DTG wants to win me over then they need to add new content. And to be clear, this route is not new content.
This roue as a stand alone product is not a bad route. The line is beautiful and their are some nice new additions. But it is unacceptable to charge so much for more of the same. They did not even change the locos from RSN that much. They may be slightly different models but it is clear that they just altered the locos slightly from RSN and called it a day.
For those of you who like pros and cons, here is a list:
pros:
1) Best looking German route so far.
2) Display boards are a nice edition.
3) The lighting is stunning.
4) Finally street traffic.
5) Loco acceleration sounds are good.
cons:
1) Draw distance is too short and distant trees look patchy and unrealistic.
2) It was impossible to finish the first mission. I turned off the loco as instructed. The markers disappeared as they should, and nothing happened and no new prompts appeared.
3) The locos are basically the same as the last German route.
4) The rain makes no sound, even with the windows open. (Not enough ambient sounds in general).
5)The instructions on scenarios should have optional audio ques like tutorials.
6) Why on earth are all of the cars on the auto racks the same bland color and type. It is a little creepy to watch the train go by.
In general I actually love the route, I am just tired of getting more of the same, and the cons that I mentioned are a real factor.

So this is roughly the 8th/9th TSW DLC, and so far I've purchased the base game, GWE, WSR, and LIRR. I thought I would dip my toes in with this one, and I have to say, I am considerablly un-impressed with the direction Dovetail are taking this franchise, and my patience is almost at a hair.
To be fair, lets start with the positives :
+ The "local" or immediate scenery design is gorgeous. Trackside here is wonderfully detailed and is a very refreshing change to other sceneries. This was a good choice for a route from Dovetail, and offers many picturesque scenes on par with WSR, as you wind up and down these inclines
+ Locomotives are exceptionally detailed
+ PIS! Finally :D
+ Somewhat more interesting and developed soundscapes
+ More variety in types of services offered.
However, all of this is let down by the following :
- A grand total of 5 scenarios.
- Lack of tutorials (Despite covered in the manual, DTG really should take the time to explain concepts like German signalling and PZB in the actual game)
- Train detail about 1/4 of what CSX:HH was
- A rather barren world. Limited amount of passenger spawning. To what I understand aswell, there are meant to be far more services passing through this route (ICE? I'll hold my tongue if that is incorrect) Why can't we have these are non-boardable/ non-usable ai?
- Extremely sloppy scenery design. Untextured distant mountains, road/town cutoffs highly evident.
- DLC is advertised as being packaged with "moving cars" that represent a more lively scenery. While a welcome change, you'll be lucky to see 5 at a time.
- QA is non-existant. In the space of an hour, I was able to get stuck in a station underpass, irreversibly stall a train on an incline with no ability to reset, get stuck behind an AI train at a red for 15 mins, fall under the world at Aschaffenburg.
- Essentially re-used stock from RSN
More to the point, I think it's an insult that we are probably somewhere at the 1-2 year mark with this amount of DLCs, and we still have...
- No multiplayer (As advertised on the first CSX:HH trailers)
- No ability for custom controller setup (what I would have thought would be a basic feature)
- No steam engines
- No route outside of Germany | Uk | America (Although understandably, demographic data and the company business should be considered.)
Bottom line is, I shall not be purchasing more DTG dlc unless I see substantial improvement, or I see a really desirable route.
