I would not recomend this Add-On reason: after numerous reinstallation attemps the ingame station of Wedel looks like this.... http://prntscr.com/jqt3td , frankly i havent been to Wedel station that often since i live around 2 hours away from it and id have to cross through the center of hamburg to get there. Nethertheless I cant remember of the Station and its sourroundings looking like this. I once on initial release was able to use this DLC the way it was supposed to but there are points that let this DLC down as numerous other people have already stated the train 474/+ and the classic 474 (seperate DLC) lack indepth controls the sounds are underwhelming and slightly dull... not like in the real world. The driving characteristics of the the trains is off par good rapid acceleration but poor braking performance which is just not realistic. The Route itself is pretty accurate except for the lack of lights in the stations of the S3-Tunnel (where the S1 also operates on) aswell as lack of animations or quite liturally the bother of the devs clean finish the stations... once again not impressed by Dovetails work and again it seems like a money grab. As soon as you choose the Pantograph version of the 474/474+ the route stations seem to change to the Hamburg-Lübeck routes stations wich i have but not installed but still shows them not the S1 routes Stations.... http://prntscr.com/jqtaoq I have already contacted support and they either blame my computer and I dont meet the requirements (eventhough my system is way above the minimum requiremts of the game and DLC) or they say they cant help me.... DTG-Support in my eyes has pretty much always had the worst support of gaming devs beating EA by a landslide.. My conclusion, unless your a big fan of the german Suburban rail network in Hamburg, buy it. I would highly not recommend this route and if you need help for the game dont count on DTG support theyve given up with TrainSimulator for TSW and are just using TS2018 to cash grab.

Good map. But as others have stated some of the signals are incorrect or in incorrect spaces. Some signals show with no other indicators behind the green when they should be green with yellow to indicate that you should be reducing your speed for an upcoming speed reduction. As a result you're abruptly coming into those sections speeding at the prior speed limit and lose massive amounts as a result. This needs to be fixed to give players the full potential of route that it obviously has. It can get laggy at times due to being resource intensive. But I can overlook that. I don't get the brake problems that others reported about the 474Plus. As some others have said you do also have to the mechanical brake along with the throttle/brake combo lever. The full Hamburg-Lubeck route with complete scenarios is indeed included within the S1 download. This is why folks who already had Hamburg-Lubeck got big discounts for the S1 route. SO it does make the purchase worth the money, especially if you buy the route as part of the package that includes the DB 114 loco addon. The main and only con for me right now is the incorrect signals at spots in the S1 scenarios that cause big point deductions for speeding. As a result of that I can only give this route 8/10. Otherwise I can still recommend it for its potential after fixing the signal flaws and for including the complete Hamburg-Lubeck route for those who don't already have that route.

Unlike other reviews here, I love this route. The 474+ is a lovely unit to drive once you know how to use the braking controls. Unfortunately, the route suffers from the DTG issue of speed markers being a long way off from their supposed start point and you end up speeding and losing your points in career mode, so you have to memorise where those points are. With that being the major issue, the route is very well detailed and offers urban and semi-rural scenery.

Put your hand and let's count how many intolrant defects this route has! Thumb -------- the cab is strangly touchy on the control, even a slight push on the handle can make power maximum and exceed allowed speed. Index finger ------- terrible brakes. the dynamic braking perform practically no function, which is a disaster for metro. Ring finger ------- unacceptable frame-drop. little finger ------- wrong signal settings. the DB distant signal doesn't seem to work and you can not decelerate timely when you arriving station. Sorry? what did you say? what about the middle finger? Oh, yes, now you can see what I feel about the DLC :)

While I was looking forward for this route, I am quite disappointed after I ran my first scenario. + High Visual Standards: As usual, the route and used assets look quite good. - Signalling errors: 1.) I encountered a single flashing green signal, which in Germany together with a speed table shows an upcoming speed limit. In this case it was flashing green, but without any further indication. Not existent in Germany, so I was quite confused how to interpret it. 2.) No speed limit warnings - Train Brakes 3.) Way to weak brakes. It is close to impossible to get this train to a standstill as it's supposed to be. All in all I found several severe issues with the details of this route. While it does look good, those problems make this route and train seem unfinished and rushed. As an owner of Hamburg-Luebeck I got a discount of 40%. With some fixes it might become better, but for now I've requested a refund. No recommondation at this time.

I like this track, atypical german setting, with lot of variety. The train is not perfect, reused sounds and so. But I got hang of it and it drives ok. You must use brake independently, not only combined power handle. I do not recommend to use PZB, because of different signals, which have active 1000 hz magnets way too often and it's impossible to keep to timetable as it slows you down too much. Very resource intensive, game often slows down.

Great route spolied by speed signs on Driver's Guide being placed in wrong spot or missing altogether meaning constantly having to reload or make copious notes about the errors. How does such obvious errors and so many get past any competent beta testing program?

Route is pretty beautiful. Train is pretty crappy.

Route uses several semaphore signals. Light signals differ from ordinary German railway signals.
Does NOT include the 474.3 DLC. (It does include the 474 Plus, which is seperate train)
474 Plus has no in-cab indication of doors open/close state (and camera views outside of train are unavailable at underground stations, preventing you from seeing doors open/closed state)
474 Plus passenger view has limited camera rotation and does always show closed doors (even when open)
474 Plus doesn't brake as fast as it accelerates (unless you use emergency brake)
Quick Drive does include a reverse point at Blankenese (switches and signals switch automatically)
Is listed as additional route in Quick Drive, in addition to Hamburg-Lübeck route
Some underground stations have no visible light sources (there's ambient light, but you can't see where the light is coming from).
Tunnels aren't completely dark, so there's still enough to see, while still being dark enough to look realistic.
Low FPS at some places (like Hamburg Hbf)
You can select the power traction of the 474 Plus (Third Rail or Overhead Wires) when starting a Quick Drive, but you cannot change power source during the drive.
I still have to try scenarios and more route driving, but wanted to share above as quickly as possible :)

Good route, terrible train. BR 474 PROS: Good model BR 474 CONS: The brakes are terrible, more than the class 450 The passenger view isn't great The doors open and close way too quickly (they don't even open fully) The doors close without sound Some sounds copied from the BR 420 As for the route itself, I don't know yet. I haven't had the chance to explore seeing as I haven't been able to stop at a station. From what I have seen, the stations and scenery are nicely detailed. Until DTG update the 474, I can't recommend this route

I tried to be short .... Doesnt work for me :D Included Loco: - The Sound of the BR474Plus is catastrophic. They copied most of the sound from the br420 and 423 and the Br232. It really doesnt feel natural especially cause i drove more then 10 times with the S-Bahn in Hamburg and it sounds really different. - The accleration is way to harsh at the beginning and the train brakes are really worse. The Combined Brakes is nearly useless and even with the mechanic brake the Train Brakes much worser then its accelarate. - The Performance is terrible. I mean its nearly worse then the Talent 2 Br 442 (Hamster). So even in Areas wherer arent that much buildings the FPS are really low and thats on a normal/high end PC. So 2* Br 474 in Hamburg HBF generates 16-10 FPS. -+ The Passenger View is really specially and i cant move the camera a lot but it looks ok ... But one waggon as a Passenger View as a Cab View so its ok i think +- The 3D Model is okay i think. I am not from Hamburg so i cant tell if there are some things missing (small things) so cant get into that detail i am afraid. +- The ZZa looks ok, but in the second szenario it shows "Not in Service" while i drove The S1 to HH. The Route itself: + The Route itself looks good and makes fun to drive. + Some unic Station where made really well. + They even build in some old Signals + The length of the Route is quite nice escpailly if u buy it when u dont have Hamburg-Lübeck. + Drive Commuters is always fun to drive and it needs an hour to drive drom one end to the other end. - Some Signals are really buggy. Get it 4 Times that the HuD and Signals show me some different speed then i am allowed to drive. So my score drop down. - Some Areas in the Underground are also buggy. Sometimes its really dark and then it gets instantly bright. Really wierd - Some Stations get rubbish Textures especially at Underground Service. So these are very unclean and looks like was made for PS1 or Xbox1. - Stop Sign are missing. Szenarios: - Really less AI Trains - Wrong Signals and Speed Signs. - Some Szenearios are to shoort. + Enough Szenarios. So the Conclusion: I mean its nice that u get some saving when u already buyed Hamburg Lübeck and i appreciate that ! But it feels like the Route needs more then 2 Weeks of pollishing. The Route itself is ok but has some bugs, the Loco is really really bad and i hope DTG are updating this Route and pollish it ! The Idea of creating a commuter Service for Hamburg was a nice idea but they forget to polish it ... Which i cant understand. Anyway i would say dont buy it ! Only buy it when it gets updated so it would make some fun to drive. PS: I am sorry that English isnt my native english and I hope u arent that harsh to me for some bad grammer and wrting skills. But i though it have to be shared with everyone not only the german Community :)
