Absolute masterpiece of a game, I loved every part of it. Achievement hunting was a hell of a grind, but getting that 100% was satisfying. The bosses are some of the best I've ever faced, and the DLCs were also amazing. I recommend new players to play Dark Souls 1 (and Dark Souls 2 if you're up for it) first to make the experience even better for this game. Long may the sun shine!

Out of all souls games, I didn't expect this one to age the worst. Every other game in the series has something unique about it, and this one feels like a souls-themed Bloodborne reskin or a demo for Elden Ring. It's very short, linear and easy compared to other From games. However, if you're tired of replaying Elden Ring for the 1000th time and want the same thing with different levels, this game can scratch that itch.

Great game, really. If you are wondering whether it is worth picking it up, then certainly go for it, but keep in mind one thing, you will most likely get annoyed by some bosses/mechanics - but it can be mastered with patience and time! Really enjoyed the journey!

This game is the culmination of years of dark souls development by FromSoftware. The story is peak, the gameplay is peak, the multiplayer experience is sadly diminished because of how much time has passed since its release but at the same time you can still find people to play with. Absolutely recommended, it's an almost perfect game.

a bit more linear than the first two but makes up for it with great movesets, environments and a satisfying sense of progression

My personal favorite Souls game, and where I got started, though if you're unfamiliar with the lore it can be a little confusing getting started, but that's fine. You know why? Because Souls games are all about having a steep learning curve. The insane difficulty is meant to challenge you. There is absolutely no hand-holding, no quest markers, nothing. You get a tutorial on how to do basic things then you get thrown into the frying pan. This game is not easy, Dark Souls became its own genre for a reason. You WILL die, hundreds of times. You will want to quit. You will be frustrated with the mechanics, and the combat, and you will feel like quitting. But you will feel the need to come back, to complete it, to finally beat that ONE annoying boss. And after 50, 100, or even 1000 failed attempts you will finally beat it, and the feeling of accomplishment will be like nothing you've ever experienced. Because you earned it, you took your time, you trained, you practiced your moves, and in the end you won. You can respawn an infinite number of times, the only way you can lose is if you give up. And that's the poetic beauty of Dark Souls. You decide when you lose. You decide how hard you're going to make it for yourself. Not with a regular difficulty slider, but through hard work, dedication, and summoning a bunch of Sunbros who are better fighters than you are to beat up the big mean hard bosses for you. 10/10
