I'll be up front here: I'm giving the DB Schenker Class 59/2 a negative because for me, it just wasn't fun to drive and I felt the physics on a loaded train were very poor. I could be wrong on that, but... it's how I felt. The interior and exterior look really good! Texturing is good, coloring is good. No complaints here. The sounds are really bad. There's a glaringly obvious sound loop when the engine is at an idle that is beyond annoying. When you're not at an idle the sounds are better... but still not particularly good. Other reviews say they're simply reused sounds from another train. That may not be a significant problem by itself because some locomotives do use the same engines and should sound very similar, but this one just isn't great anyway. What might be personal preference is the physics and braking system. The braking system is incredibly slow. Far slower than any of the US locomotives that should be similar to it in TS Classic. Which is accurate? I couldn't say... but it's annoying. It also loses traction on dry rails pulling a moderate load at notch 4. That seems beyond ridiculous. Another thing that works against it is that despite being 10 yrs old, it's still being sold at the premium cost of $20 USD. If you want it, buy it on sale. The three scenarios it comes with all work fine. While I didn't attain 1000 points on all three myself, I believe it's probably possible. The scenarios are set up pretty well with good use of AI and all 3 are different making them interesting. The achievements all work fine and trigger as they should. It would be a nice locomotive to use on custom scenarios. Like I said above, it looks really good.

This train is included in the North London Route for free, but I don't recommend this route. It's also included in the Chatham Main & Medway Valley Lines Route, which I recommend. It includes three scenarios in each route, and it's possible to earn 1,000 points in each of the scenarios it offers. The physics aren't very good; it struggles to accelerate without spinning its wheels, and its power leaves something to be desired. Its brakes aren't the best either. I recommend this DLC for those who want to play in quick drive or create their own scenarios, as it would add a locomotive to their collection. However, I don't recommend purchasing it with the North London Line Route Add-On, because this route contains too many bugs and it also includes the Class 378 DLC, which is also full of bugs.
