This is well executed! I can't wait to see how far they go with the ideas they have!

There are things that need to be refined, Movement, key bindings, and some other mechanics. It's mostly just a lot of minor things that are annoying which will probably? hopefully? be ironed out by the end of early access. The base concepts for this game are pretty good regardless with some rebalancing alone it'd be a lot better then certain titles. ___________List of Grievances below____________ Movement feels a little jank dashes feel a bit jank as well, Iframes and hit detection feels pretty weird as well Ex. Fairly rare occurrence but you can get hit by attacks at the end of a roll sometimes. Movement options feel kind of awkward at the start as well(whenever you start playing). Character also moves a little bit too slow for me i'd prefer my character to be a little more responsive or faster whether it's attacking or moving(move speed/attack speed too slow). Turning sucks because there's auto aim but only for your basic attacks turning feels really awkward because... you can't and moving takes time which is somewhat crucial. Ex with auto aim your attacks come out instantly, but if i want to attack something with manual turn i'd need to "move(manual turn takes the same time as moving)" my character then attack which is much slower. Default Keyboard keybinds kind of suck but i guess you can change them manually. I recommend changing change tab to Q and E and moving the attack, dash, skill key down to A S D then finding a new button for map. Boss rooms can be identified by the door they have but don't show up on the minimap till you enter the area in my opinion on discovery they should have the skull icon so it's a little easier to keep track of if you open the door and head elsewhere like a shop, or finish exploring the rest of the floor first. The wells/stairs down you should be able to enter or use them from anywhere and not just the top 3 tiles. when you press tab to access your different menus you can't immediately press tab then the corresponding menus direction to open it immediately nor can you buffer an input to open it. Whenever you start a run the fox gives you spirits and that animation takes awhile and is unskippable. The text whenever you get to a different chapter in the scar says Skip it should say Next or Continue because it never progresses... Skip kinda implies it's a cutscene and not something akin to a load screen. Having to destroy all the objects in every area is kind of time consuming to get blue prints so it would be nice if they were added to boss chests as loot as well. Above were the things off the top of my head for the basic game mechanics _____________Below will be my grievances that are about game balance. ________________ Some artifacts have no synergy with others and are straight up useless garbage(locate boss room artifact), or there are artifacts that do something... but the caviot is they require another artifact you might not even see in your current run. There are also artifacts that scale which suck to get late but are great early which is somewhat frustrating. If the store shows up with artifacts early on you can't afford them period. Even more true when they're higher rarity. In general not that much good stuff in the shop(i guess artifacts are technically the best?). the Spirit system same kind of issues as the artifact where there are some pretty useless abilities like launch a spear that does 20% damage then on kill of the target afflicted spawn another spear hit a guy which is cast at the start of combat(the first spear). Honestly since there already is the artifact system the balance for the spirits is kind of a slippery slope(you might not even get a spirit ability until the 2nd area) and might change if more content is added. Skills are not balanced. The character i've mostly played i've tried both paths on that skill tree and i gotta say... some of the skills are so bad if you didn't take the upgrades you'd unironically be better off then taking the skill upgrades. In my opinion it's not even necessarily about playstyle but they're just borderline unusable upgrades or downgrades to one of the biggest aspects to your dps(proper upgrades increase your damage output and QOL by so much it's ridiculous). I do understand this is early access though so a lot of this will likely be fixed for full release(hopefully). Game is in a pretty playable state right now at least if you're interested in whats to come. Since the rest of the review has been so critical would probably be fair to name some good things before we end it off. First the game is somewhat fair and you output a good amount of damage(unless you go the wrong skill build XD) and could technically beat all the bosses on your first run(even with garbage artifacts). Secondly the combat is pretty interesting hard for me to really summarize it quickly... But there's relatively good indication for most attacks(some in my opinion suck like really bad). Thirdly None of the bosses feel the same. Some might share like a few aspects but the fights all work differently and feel unique(in the context of this game at least first boss being a tree how original ever heard of wispy woods? this is a joke) More things i could go into like... THE SPIDER BOSS >:( but would i recommend this game?... i mean it's probably not the kind of game that's made for everybody... but i'm sure there are people this game will bring great joy to and countless hours of fun who i could recommend this to.

God I want to like this game. A lot of the fights feel unfair. The tree boss for instance will immediately put another shield up rught after you just took it down. I often feel in this game a sense of unfairness. Not that I am not accustomed to hard games. I love the souls games and elden ring. This game has so much potential. But it really needs polish before its ready. For now its going to be a no but I will keep playing as updates are released and I will be willing to change my rating.

I am really really loving this game so far, my only complain is there should be more meta progression, or implementing weapons and armory drops to the inventory system to carry between runs, that would give it a more Solo Leveling kind of vibe to the dungeon crawler aspect of this game, I am looking forward to what the devs will implement next

A pretty good game for an early access one, so here are a few good and bad things about it: Goods: - World building gives out massive Made in Abyss vibe, which is amusing. - Have "break the pot" kind of stuff from Zelda games, which is relaxing in a way. - Characters have unique kits and level up branches. I'm sure devs will port more characters from their first game to this one over time, cannot wait to try them all. - Roguelike system is niche (map generation, relics/artifacts, spirits), same as characters, artifacts will be ported here soon. - Combat is literally the best thing so far: real time, interactive between your abilities and enemies'. - Permanent upgrades are generally good: runes are your "equipment" and they are random based, while stat-upgrades are farming based and linear. - Beautiful pixel graphic. I gotta say, artistically this game is a gem of pixel on it own! - Nice and pleasant songs and themes. Very engaging choice of sounds. - Balanced difficulty, might lean on hard/DS side a bit: enemies' and bosses' attack patterns aren't simple but observable and learnable. Bads: - Game bugs (freeze character a bit when using active trait on cooldown, soft lock in some bosses scenarios which render them invincible, or invisible blocks that keep you in place... still counting and reporting them now). - It would be nice if players can have their own chest to store excessive runes which were forged from blacksmith, so players can switch them from time to time for different characters and builds. - Movement and attack inputs might be a bit lagging for real time action combat, I'm already adapted to it, but this can be a problem for new players. - Little content currently (lore, characters, artifacts, spirits' abilities, upgrades, runes' stats), might not scratch enough itch or persuade players to spend more time once they maxed out all permanent upgrades and clear all present stages. But hey, it is an early access game, so this might not be a problem in the end! I might update this review from time to time after each major update patches.

Game is good but the controls are not, hope you optimize it more, and please, more characters like from the Guidus mobile!
