- Is it the best game I've played, No. - Is it the most realistic pirate game I've played, No. - Is it what I was expecting when it was announced, No. - Do I have fun playing it?, Yes. It is a flawed game, many shortcomings, disappointments, some glitches, flawed logic and weird enemies... It is fun though... it looks good... runs well on a 3800x and 3080 10gb. The world looks great and it reminds me a lot of AC (You know the one) I do recommend this game, I hope you guys like it. Just get it on sales ;)

I have been playing it for a while now. I own a Garuda now. Upgraded Max. Level 13. Now there's nothing much for me to do. The quests, plunders, boss battles are repetitive and boring. Being a big sucker for naval and aerial battle games, I must say, Skull and Bones is a huge disappointment. Already uninstalled it. Now playing GTA V, which at least has an interesting story line.

The developers seem to work hard in overloading new players unnecessarily. If you can get past that there is a pretty enjoyable game underneath. Even if you don't stick around there is entertainment to be had here that is worth the (discounted) entry fee. Oh and pass if you do not like sailing and Parrots.

It's fun. A bit grindy on the crafting, and the DEVs need to add quality of life. This is an arcade game. Make progression and travel easy and give us a hearthstone. Too many fed ex quests, but overall it's fun.

This game is the worst thing Ubisoft has put out. The sea is glitchy, the frames just drop for no reason, and the game play is miserable. Sail out, get ganked immediately after leaving the safe zone and reset. Absolute trash from a once great developer. I'm about to refund this.

This game had some promising things in it but unfortunately it was rushed and was done poorly. This might feel like a scathing review but I'm doing my best to be honest and impartial. For those reasons, I'll leave AC: Black Flag out of this review. Pros: The scenery is quite nice Map is big Enemies can be challenging Several factions You get to play as a ship Arcade-like feel Can fight a dragon Cons:Upgrading a ship (something that can take time and adds anticipation) is a cutscene Boarding is a cutscene Character customization is only allowed through multiple presets Presets cannot be altered Lots of bugs No fighting (only ship combat) Crashed my PC twice (not necessarily a Ubisoft issue but it's important to note that this game caused this while many others did not) The trailer that had the Portuguese ships and fort seems to be lie (did not find any Portuguese faction) NPCs lack depth (exception being John Scurlock- which was mispelled in an update) Lack of a good story (especially when compared to other Ubisoft games) AAAA game that is dead (100 players daily with a low of 18 recently) A BIG ONE: Lack of transparency I did have some fun with the game and I think this game can be given the Cyberpunk 2077/ No Man's Sky treatment, but that would take a lot of work and it would eventually be a completely different game. This game felt like only the ship combat from AC: Origins or AC: Odyssey and while it's still fun- it feels lackluster. It's unfortunate the path and spirals this game had to take to eventually land where it did and I don't feel any malice towards the people that made it as I understand that there's likely a lot we (the fans) don't know. So I can sympathize but I still am disappointed with the final product. If I hadn't run into an issue every time I played this game then the review would likely have a different sentiment but I can't endorse a half-baked game. I'm willing to change the recommendation if the devs put more work into to make it better. I truly like the game but being in an unplayable state truly couldn't be much worse for me. I'll come back when the changes needed are made.

This game is just disgusting horror. I haven't played such crap for a long time. Literally everything is bad in it: Gameplay: You can't move away from the steering wheel, when you swim to a location there is just a loading screen, as well as when entering houses, you can't jump into the sea either, you can't walk around the ship at all - this completely sinks this game as a game about pirates. Very bad control of the main character, who is constantly dragged somewhere, only the control of the ships from Black Flag remained tolerable, but it certainly did not become better. There is also no boarding in the game, just an animation of being pulled up with ropes for a couple of seconds. Animations: the main character literally floats on the floor, NPCs' eyes look in all directions, while in dialogue they constantly make circles with their heads in random places, and in general they look worse than in games from ten years ago. Well, there are simply no animations of interaction with the world in principle, we only turn the steering wheel, and NPCs run around the ship. Graphics: Yes, this is the most unexpected moment, if you don't take the lighting and HDR, then everything is soapy, the water animation is very bad, when approaching a wave is just a pixel half-sprite on top of the main water, a waterfall is literally a pixel sprite, the pixels are clearly visible and this is in 4k resolution on my rtx4080 with an i9 13th generation. If you don't take the same lighting and randomness of the waves on the water (there are more random waves), then the graphics are worse in places than Black Flag, which came out about 12 years ago or something. Plots, scenarios and dialogues: there is just an atmosphere of cringe, everything is stupid, empty and makes no sense, it's just embarrassing to listen to this, a child wrote it. Historicity: forget about it altogether, even for fantasy, there is complete anti-historical nonsense happening here, take only my boat crew. The worst thing is that it is also the worst technically game of all that I have launched on this PC, on which I am currently running Cyberpunk. Endless loading times that do not complete and start at random moments, for example during character customization, buttons do not work, the sound lags - it constantly freezes every few seconds, there are also crashes - I have never had such problems with any game on this PC. And also the selection of everything in all menus is through the Spacebar, which cannot be changed. I do not even know what to add here, I requested a refund. I told myself that there is no need to buy games from Ubisoft, they have not even tried to make them for a long time, they just draw a model of the map and sell them for an overprice, their games have long been empty and are churned out only for money, this company has long deserved bankruptcy and will even give EA a head start in this, but this is some kind of shame. It is better to replay Black Flag, how offensive that such things ruin the life of games about pirates.

Honestly the game is fine until you hid endgame. Then its logging in 2 minutes every 2 hours at most a day to maintain an absurdly basic empire that simply exchanges silver for gold. All fights are best Solo'd, No boarding fights, lame af pirate game for real and just the half assed bs I expect from Ubisoft.

So much potential wasted, they made a game of piracy into a teleport bs. Just a crap load of events without a linear storyline, where everyone teleport and finish in a day. Added dragons and fantasy bs, when they just needed to stay on the piracy path. Endgame is just grinding without any real challenge. I really wanted to love the game, but is wasted money.

OK, I've played this game for 60 hours, and at this point, I have to say—it's a really bad game. Not worth your time or money. Just avoid it. I genuinely tried to love it, but I can't understand how it turned out this bad. The map is tiny, with events and missions crammed together. The story makes absolutely no sense. And the endgame? A long, tedious grind.
