Playing this feels like the one and only time I tried online Street Fighter. 90% of my attacks get dodged, blocked, or I get grabbed and/or stunlocked. I'm bad enough at fighting games as is, but the especially sluggish controls make it even worse. Shame because the art is wonderful and I loved Zeno Clash 1 and 2 from the same developer.

just...ugh. feels like an artist grabbed a random programmer off the street who had never played a single fighting game. controls are slow. platforming is a pain because your character won't turn around the first three times you try. the character just keeps jumping backwards and won't grab the ledges.
the art is nice and I enjoyed the few voicelines available, but I would say pass on this one.

This game has all the basic elements of a decent platformer but its implementation is clunky and feels unfinished. If this was a game that a few friends of yours were developing, you'd be impressed and should cheer them on, but as a finished product in a genre that has amazing offerings already, this just doesn't cut it. Glitchy, weird flow and physics, stiff controls, rough graphics, it's just not very good. Have a look for a few dollars if the style appeals to you, but don't waste more money on it.

An interesting look into another world, though one that takes a bit to get used to. It experiments with a lot of mechanics, and each of the main characters does end up feeling different enough that I made sure to trek to the bottom with all of them. It's been a long time since I played, but hopefully the community has been able to properly bring the meta-progression to its final phase so that all the indicated content has been unlocked. (I think I'd be a little sad to get to the bottom after all this time and find it in the same spot it was when I last played.)

I kind of hated it until it clicked about 40 minutes in. If you're struggling with the SORD WAMMAN, the two-hander spirit feels a lot more capable of dealing with large groups of enemies, which is the main frustration I had.
The game is at its best in 1v1 fights and feels REALLY unfair when they gang up on you. Still worth playing, get it when they go on sale.
