this loco is bad and im not surprised the sounds on this are dreadful the physics are awful feels like ive got nothing behind even with an full rake of coaches absolutely horrible loco to drive in TS with the Default sounds The model on this Loco is pretty good and the fact you get the variants with and without is pretty good of DTG to do this but that's the only thing i can say that's good about this loco also I forgot to mention you get the double tender variant with this as well which is fantastic but that doesn't change the fact that this loco is horrible to drive in TS The coaches included in this pack are just recycled from the European loco and asset pack from 2010 which is just horrible and no run sounds included with them they are just silent coaches Why to improve this loco please get the Steam Sounds Supreme Sound Pack as it makes the actually sound nice and actually make this drivable in game

This locomotive holds up to Today, though it is still gripped with problems. For whatever reason, this only comes with Flying Scotsman in a few of its preservation guises: Pegler, NRM 2004-2005, and BR Brunswick Green, which I assume is based on what she wore during the late 90s, as she still has the grey smokebox dart and handles when she never had that in BR service. The fact that it doesn't come with her as-built A1 condition is odd because it was the condition she was in when she made 100 MILES PER HOUR (i.e. the thing she is famous for) nor does it feature the A3 Apple Green Condition with a single tender, without the smoke deflectors. A wartime black condition model for Flying Scotsman for Train Sim does exist, but it's payware even though all it adds is a new livery. Another gripe I have with this DLC is the sounds. They're just the Peppercorn A1 sounds with an A4 whistle, and if you were to hear Flying Scotsman's whistle in real life, you would know that she does not have an A4 whistle, at least not currently. Also, the lamps sit in front of the lamp irons rather than on them, like in real life. Overall, this DLC looks great but only comes with a few variations and mediocre sounds. It's hard to say whether I recommend it or not with all of these problems, but for now, I'm gonna go with no. Caledonia Works is currently working on a LNER A1 and A3 for Train Simulator so if you want Flying Scotsman in Train Sim, go get that whenever it gets released.

A very good dlc for people like me, who doesn't really care about realisticness and cares more about just driving around like an absolute redneck lmao. Very powerful engine, this thing always reaches above 90 on flat ground with 10 cars, and i hit a top speed of 103 on a downhill also with 10 cara.

Now, the flying scotsman is a real must-have for steam fans all over the world. while the sounds aren't great, the attention to detail is awesome, and the fact that it comes with mk1's is even better, as you can never have too many coaches. and that brunswick green livery is just lovely. if none of this review encourages you to buy this, i don't know what will. overall, 9/10.

You can't have a train simulator collection without having Flying Scotsman in it. But although this is a positive review, I feel as though this could of been done a little better. It's not the model at fault, it's the sounds. They're exactly the same as Tornado's, and it only uses the A4 chime as the whistle. Now this might not be too much an issue with the smoke deflector variants, it feels irksome not to have the option of the bell whistle; although you could argue the real thing is barely audible. Otherwise, the loco is a good model, it runs nicely and fits in with preservation era stock nicely. It'll pull 13 coaches reasonably well, and it'll accelerate up to about 82mph on about 28%/32% cutoff. Especially since you get three different variants; the Pegler Era Apple Green locomotive with double tender, the later preservation era variant with Smoke Deflectors (still in Apple Green) and the British Railways Brunswick Green variant (also with smoke deflectors). It also comes with some Crimson and Cream Mk1s, which is nice if you're looking to bolster your Mk1 collection. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10, it's a good loco if you consider it's been out since 2012, it'd just be nicer if they could update the sounds, but it might be a bit of an ask.

This is a great piece of dlc, The detail is exelent on it. In my opinion it was money well spent, the only downside is that im not a very good steam train driver but i did manage to get it up to 77MPH.

This DLC is great. 3 different versions (LNER Modern, BR Brunswick and LNER Double Tender). Sounds might not be the best but there is the Steam Sounds Supreme which you can buy for £5 to make it better for the LNER Modern & BR Brunswick versions. The LNER Double Tender has it's own sound pack for £3.50.

Who could fail to love the elegance and glamour of the world's most famous locomotive. 'Flying Scotsman' looks and works superbly in this rendition for Train Simulator. Coming with a variety of liveries and a selection of appropriate Mk1s, this locomtive is perfect for those planning a steam rail tour or those who have dreamed of being in the cab of 'Flying Scotsman' easing back on her regulator to take her out of King's Cross on the non-stop to Edinburgh. Performance is as good as the 'A4s' both braking and acceleration wise, although top speed is obviously less than 'Mallard's' 126.4mph. Nevertheless, 94.8mph was attained on ECML King's Cross-Peterborough with 1 tender and 7 Mk1s, so her record of 100mph is quite probably attainable. Thoroughly recommended to all steam lovers/enthusiasts as one of the best steam locomotive purchases available with Train Simulator. Enjoy!

Anyone who even owns this game, this DLC is a must. The Flying Scotsman is not only a world-known train, it might just be even the most iconic Steam Engine ever. This train has a nice spot in my heart, and is right next to the ATSF Warbonnet Super Chief.
