very neat, i myself am a huge fan of the 2-8-4 berkshire, the sounds are good, the train looks good, and the fact that you can drive #765 without quitting the bgame and replaying the game is pretty cool. but the downfall of this mighty beast is the cab graphics, its just pixelated, not very good, but if your looking for a strong fast heavy hauler, look no more than the NKP S-2 Berkshire!

It is an amazing model, and even though the whistle may be off a bit. (Not High enough to be a Nathan 6 chime). I still enjoy running it, as I used to ride on the 765 frequently

I like the Locomotive, the Berkshires type of Locomotives are amazing looking, but there are some things that needs to be fixed, the interior of the cab has to be fixed and accurate,
the wheel gear needs to be accurate and in motion on the throttle and the power on the Locomotive,
needs to be as detailed as Smokebox instead of what it is now,
needs to have correct bells and whistles
and needs to have a whole pack of all Berkshires such as: the Nickle Plate Road 765, the Pere Marquette 1225, and the Chesapeak & Ohio 2716
along side their routes on where they are all at currently, their coaches, and Pere Marquette 1225's extra tender (the Steam Railroad Institute tender)

I've had fun with this! Great locomotive to drive (with physics mods thanks to fan railer)
At first, it's not really the best locomotive you would be looking for. It's slow, it's boiler pressure drops tremendously after reaching exactly 43 mph, and it doesn't have a lot of power, it's whistle and bell are quite out-dated too, sounds like it was imported from MSTS (probably because it is)
But after Installing physics mods, it's one of THE best locomotives to play as, on flat grounds you roll along the track exceptionally fast, reaching peak speeds up to 75 mph without diesel assistance with a 14-17 car train, or 1500-2000 tonnage.
If you want this locomotive, I reccommend installing a physics mod from Fan Railer for this locomotive to be WORTH IT!

I love the Nickel Plate Berkshires, and I'm sure this was a brilliant add on when it first came out, but it hasn't aged well at all. A lot of people are saying it's powerful, but I've struggled to get a 40-50 car train moving behind it, even though the real thing did that on a regular basis with relative ease.
For those not aware, this is a port of an MSTS locomotive. Graphic wise, it looks better than the original MSTS model (the dynamic lighting in Railworks helps a lot), but it's appearance hasn't stood the test of time very well.
I'm not thrilled with the sounds. Berkshires have a lot of bark and thrash to them when it runs along irl.
The only positive I can really give on this is that on Railworks America, there is a mod for this addon that allows you to have a somewhat accurate C&O Kanawha, which was never available for MSTS/Open Rails.

I'm torn on this, while the exterior of the locomotive looks good, it all falls apart with the cab interior being pixelated and looks outdated for the game. The engine sounds are ok, not great but reasonable. I'd would have rated it postively except the cab view is just as important as the exterior, and they missed the mark with this one.

I have no idea what that other review is about running out of steam, I have had no issues with it. The S-2 Berkshire is a big ole girl and is a little touchy when it comes to steam control but after just one practice run I had her all sorted out and running smoothly through the Canadian mounains down to the Miami coastline.
This steam locomotive is a classic MUST HAVE engine for any American rail fans. Once you get used to the steam control its easy to remember and drive. Shes mighty tall and handsome and known quite well by all, pulling the combination all across the states! I have to say that I love this engine and would highly recomend it to anyone who is even considering it. Worth the $20 purchase price.

What a beautiful steam locomotive! If you're a fan of American Steam you might like this one. It's a little slow though. It took me a while to get the hang of it before I could get this engine up to speed with a consis behind it. Personally, I don't think this engine has the power it should. BUT, I still like driving it.
Does not come with scenarios, passenger cars, or frieght cars. The whistle is different than 765's, but it's still good.
