Recommended. Especially if on sale. Pros Nice scenery, some towns and interesting things to see. Runs smoothly on a newer PC (compared to some really graphics intensive newer routes) The EMD F7 trains look and feel great, very pleasant (as usual) to drive. Cons The ES44 train's MFD doesn't display that well, but otherwise works OK. Not many career scenarios included, so if you're after XP or achievements, look elsewhere.

its extremly worth it for the price you get so many trains and freight cars. if you want a hard task go down the summit with a heavy train and see how good you are with your brakes and maintaining your speed i think its defintly worth it

While perhaps a bit dated graphically, it's still one of my favorites, being a classic American route. Always had a soft spot for the Mojave.

7/10 This route is a must have! It will test how well you do against steep grades. It is worth the price for the amount of content you get. Because of the route's setting, it can be very boring because of how open the Mojave desert is. A minor issue i have is that, the route is very old (originally released in 2012) and has been left in the dark by the current devs of the game (Dovetail games). This route has not gotten any of the new features that get added every year with every new version of the game. A lot of the sounds and textures on certain models are very dated. For example the horn and bell sounds on the SD40-2 that comes with the route are not up to par with some of the other SD40-2s models that are available in other routes and DLC across Train Simulator. However, I still recommend this route for your collection but use other DLC's to run on this route.

I got this route a while ago and hoped it would be a different company, there isn't unless you count the Santa Fe F7. This DLC is still fun though and I like it. But when I got it the trains were transparent but I rode in the cab more than ever so I didn't care. This is actually very fun, and this is coming from the guy who didn't like the game a lot. Anyway if you buy it I hope you enjoy it! Happy driving enginners!

I live near the Pass and while I recognise that the route is set in the time just before the 3rd main was built, I still find most of the route unrecognisable. I-15 which is an 8-lane monster of a busy freeeway is depicted as just a minor road with a couple of lanes and occasional traffic. Other landmarks which should be obvious are either not present or not obvious. I have scenery set to maximum thanks to a whizzy graphics card. Very disappointed.

A pretty fun route with good selection of scenarios "Only 1 in career". But it's mostly a mix of shunting in various spots, some longer distant runs and a couple of passenger trips. Pretty good value for money for those that enjoy U.S. side of train simming.

Okay In my opinion, this route seems a little boring, for lack of grade crossings, and the scenery is pretty flat. On the good side, the route performs very well, and comes with 12 scenarios, not including scenarios that come with DLC! Yes, I would recommend this route, especially for 17.99!!!!

Now that Steam is allowing reviews of DLC, I'll start by reviewing this one. This is a great addition to the game. This route takes place in the deserts of California near the Mojave. It's a wide open and mostly flat route with long runs of high speed freight trains from UP, Santa Fe and BNSF liveries. There are some gentle rolling hills and the desert scenery is quite beautiful. The scenarios are all well done and completeable. There are over a dozen scenarios included. The best scenario in the pack is called "The Splitter" where you have to manually load some double stack intermodals with an overhead crane and then haul them to a staging point, drop them off, pick up another cut and proceed to a 2nd destination so there is alot to do and interactivity other than just driving the train. It's a long route too, well over 100 miles end to end so it will keep you busy for quite awhile completing and driving the whole thing. Performance is good, getting a solid 60fps pretty much everywhere on highest settings (PC specs below). Definitely recommend. 10/10 i5-3570k (4.5Ghz) 8GB DDR3 EVGA GTX670 FTW
