Decent. Reminds me of WoW and Fable. So far it doesnt do anything new but its fun and simple. The game has tons and tons of content from what I can tell. Spent most of the game with 6 strength and there a thing that requires 110. Got my first house. I found armour that lets me dress up as the guy from the Mass Effect series, one of my favorite trilogys ever. I recommend the game. It does feel outdated here and there so maybe wait for a sale.

When I first played the KoA:R demo back in 2012, I was delighted.
When I played the original game for about 160 hours, I was in love.
When I found out that the company had gone bankrupt due to poor sales, I was disheartened.
When I found out THQ Nordic had brought it back, I was elated.
I bought the re-release as soon as it was on sale, but never had a chance to come back to it. I wish I'd done so sooner so I could make a review about it. This isn't a game for everyone. I can't objectively call it an amazing game. It's a perfect game for me. KoA was everything that I wanted in an RPG then, and it's all that I want in an RPG now. Heck, both it and Guild Wars 2 came out in the same year, and they both hit similar notes, and in that game... Well, that's beside the point.
KoA:RR has bugs. It has voice sync issues. It has camera clipping. It has irremovable objects from the inventory. It has uncompletable quests. There's also the fact that the leveling curve is still borked, Very Hard difficulty has the same problem with regular Hard in that it is only actually "very hard" in the beginning of the game (House of Ballads' story line is a genuine nightmare at the appropriate level), and oh, boy, do I wish that there had been implementation of a system to re-scale unique and armor set gear to level 40 so that Khas-ti's Helm that I picked up at level 20 isn't next door to useless at max level. Plus the whole "feels like a single-player MMO" criticism that's impossible to live down because, yes, that's what it is. This was the demo for the failed Project Copernicus.
And yet...
The combat is responsive. I feel explosive with the click of a button. I've heard people compare it to God of War--the old ones--but I want you to know that everything feels like it has weight. Especially the hammer. I can almost feel the hammer connecting through my mouse with each collision. Want to just button mash? Got your warrior. Want to delete everything from a mile away? There's your rogue. With a click of a button (and a Meteor) do you want to clear the screen? That's your mage. Hey, why not mix-and-match? Warrior+rogue lets you slice up everything with faeblades. Warrior+mage lets you walk into the middle of a crowd and spam Lightning Storms until everyone's gone. Mage+rogue proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that chakrams are the best weapon in the game. Heck, become all three, level up with the best gear you find, learn what works for you, and have every sustained buff up at the same time. Do what you want, because the game, for the most part, allows it.
The game is beautiful, to me at least. Sure, the character models leave something to be desired (2D concept art is admittedly hard to render in 3D), but the environments are gorgeous. Everything is larger than life, and so vivid, and when you first get into Odarath and you hear that Grant Kirkhope score, it's like being wrapped in a warm Ulster blanket in front of a cozy little fire.
I know that the game needed to be pushed out of the door back in February 2012, but I wish it hadn't. In case time's slipped you by, remember that TES:V released November 2011. Would having more time to work on KoA prevented the bankruptcy? I don't know. That doesn't matter, now. What matters is that Re-Reckoning is here. For very specific people like myself, it's a perfect game.

- graphics are ok
- sound and music are ok
- i did play to the end
- different play styles
Con:
- too many side quests - really i would skip them all
- too easy even on hard modes
- combat get repetitive
- mechanics are not well balanced

Phenomenal game. I know what you're thinking, RA Salvatore making the plot feel like 90s D&D, McFarlane making the whole thing look like cool action figures. Ken Rolston with the Morrowind design flavor... but that's not even the best part. Where this game stands out is the action. Feels like Dragon's Dogma if it was more like Dark Souls and less like like Shadow of the Colossus. The best part of the game, by far, even after everything else, is the enemy AI. Every monster knows how to kite you and parry and counter. Its hard af when you first start but not punishing like a Souls game so you can learn it and get good pretty quickly. 3 class with mixing character building like you're used to in these sort of games. Equipment and crafting system like was supposed to be an MMO. Only the maps and level layout feel dated, but the artistry is so cool running at high speed you won't even think about it.

its like if fable and skyrim had a baby. i played it on the 360 when it first came out and have repurchased it again and again. switch, steam, playstation. its legit my favourite game ever. its graphics are charming and surprisingly well done for its release date. the scenery is stunning. charming characters. good weapon and magic systems. mix and match for combat styles. i honestly think the only reason its not a more well known game is because it released at the same time as skyrim and got buried by it and unlike skyrim it didnt get relesed 1000 times to stay relevant. if you like skyrim or fable give it a go, i doubt youll regret it.
