Lacks content a LOT for this price. In its current state as of 2nd February it should be cheaper than Terraria AT LEAST. The Good: - Smart, Competent NPCs - Automation of tasks like farming, mining with little input needed - Graphics and Music are pretty neat The Bad: - Lack of Enemy Variety and Boss Patterns - Lack of Build Variety, especially in the Melee Class - AI and core mechanic changes on higher difficulties - Repetitive progression of get material -> items -> kill boss -> new biome -> repeat The Ugly: - The Price (for the current amount of content) - Repetitive world generation, island design, loot tables: There is nothing to find except surface chests, islands are too small to even add features to them. 90% of the gameplay is cave dwelling. For a game that takes obvious inspiration from Terraria and even steals Mod concepts, weapons and mechanics, it does a pretty bad job at competing with it. I would start with expanding the surface of the islands: Make them bigger, add unique spawning structures based on biome, unique biome-locked NPCs More biomes, that only start spawning further away from spawn: Void Related, Burnt/Scorched, Abandoned/Ghost Forest, Light Pyramid (potentially for t3 desert caves) Add at least 5-6 enemies per biome with them having actually useful drops and not just 3 types of arrows and healing potions. Make some of them have Unique rare accessories or gear like 0.5% - 1% droprate. With the content being more prevalent, now you can expand the bossfights to be less repetitive and boring, and make brutal mode have AI changes and mechanic changes that arent just stat increases. I have about 3600 hours in Terraria total across all platforms and this is what i look for in a game that clearly is inspired Thank you for reading and it seriously pains me to give this a Not Recommended. The game has early access so my expectations for it were very low, from the first minutes of the game, the game became very addictive... Unfortunately only in the first 6 hours of the game because the whole game is one big copy paste if at every step you see the same thing and you have to do the same thing then something is wrong... ❌The game is very much reduced❌and the announcement of update 1.0 has already been released I would like to remind you that there are 4 biomes in the game and each one looks the same❌ has the same ❌and does not stand out from the others in any way except for the minimal graphic design so that the forest biome looks desert. The whole game is about one and the same thing - collecting resources, fighting the boss and repeating. The price for the version before early access is a real joke because the game does not offer that much to be able to play it longer, it seems to me that Terraria is cheaper and looking at it the price of this game is a really sick joke. The game is based heavily on Terraria and Minecraft, which can be used very well because both games are very extensive and the key is not to make mistakes in these "titles". Pros: - Functionality and self-sufficiency of the settlement. (It is worth expanding this aspect more, you can't say the same about Terraria or Minecraft. Necesse can stand out from the competition) - Complex bosses (Bosses are largely stolen from other games, but their mechanics and realism in the game are really impressive) Cons: - Diversity of biomes (We have forest, desert, winter, swamp biomes, they all look the same and you could add the Jungle itself) - Low diversity of animals. - Difficulty levels (Difficulty levels only increase mob and boss damage, apart from that they don't give anything interesting, which is a shame) - Game monotony (You do literally the same thing, collect ore, fight the boss, repeat) - The game does not have an official multiplayer. - Classes (In the game we have Ranger, Summoner, Melee, Magic, for example the Melee class is weak compared to others, how are you supposed to damage the boss up close since it flies around the entire map and attacks you from afar, but the summoner, the summons themselves are OP, and if you choose a weapon for a ranger you will literally win everything) To sum up I advise the developer not to make the mistakes of the competition because it can ruin the game, for example Terraria - introduces many unnecessary items, half of which is junk cluttering the inventory, rare major updates, but terraria has a very extensive community and mods, the game should give players more flexibility in the game. Minecraft - a large variety of biomes, but the variety of animals or enemies in caves, on land, unfortunately leaves much to be desired. The game itself has a chance to become a better category game, but you have to observe the moves of the competition, above all not to make their mistakes and develop the community. I wish you good luck, I will observe the development of this game.
