Update: I recently finished the game and everything I said before is still my opinion. Only thing that drove me crazy was the labyrinth puzzle. It's not a negative, just a personal taste, I'm not good at those puzzles and it took me way longer then it should have ^^.
All in all I think its a good compact adventure. I really like the simple but good soundtrack, the voice acting and the ambiance sound.

I not finished it yet. But I really like this one. I'm not a fan of the Souls Like genre. I enjoyed Hellpoint and Ashen in coop but the big ones like Dark Souls, Demon Souls, Bloodborne, Nioh or Sekiro didn't catch my interest and joy.
What annoys me most are the whining people here who complain about getting more of the Gunfire Ashen franchise instead being happy about it. Yes this is a port from the VR exclusive experience. But instead being happy that this part of the lore and story opens up for a broader audienz the hardcore fans of Remnant complains that that it isn't Remnant... The devolper already said official that a small part of the team, that wasn't involved in the current development of Remnant, was doing the port. So they actually didn't lost anything! But they still are complaining.
OK, I had to said this first. But now I try to sum up my thoughts about this game. Because I think it's really good.
Chronos isn't a Third Person Shooter or a real RPG. It's a Action Adventure with some little RPG elements. The core gameplay is inspired by Dark Souls, mainly the controller layout, but death has much more impact and meaning in this game. For example your healing item has no option to recharge except for the players death. The only options the player has because of this is to fight to the next level up or to die. This makes healing items much more valuable in my eyes and the combat, although it isn't the best of it's kind, exciting.
Then you must be aware that you are playing a character that is premade but without real personality. Normally I don't like silent, name- and storyless characters but here it isn't that bad, because it doesn't matter in these foreign lands who your character in his/her previous life was. Speaking isn't as necessary too, because most creatures didn't understand humans or aren't interested in talking to you. You are intruder, that's why you are an enemy.
Now we are talking about the games core the weapon and skilling system. In this game you get older with every death. Every ten years (20, 30, 40,..) you can choose a perk to enhance your playstyle. With each level up you can spend points in strength, agility, health, and magic. Younger characters pay less points for the physical attributes and as older you get, magic becomes important. So your playstile is kinda linear. You can spent points in magic since the beginning but every point needs three skill points. That's much because with each level you get 2 points. I personally like this system because I don't expect much from it. I was informed what awaits me. So I didn't expect either to much or to less.
Ok if the levling system is below average, the loot will be great, right? Naaaah, difficult topic. You won't get much loot and especially from enemies. Loot is rare and meaningfull. You find these artefact like weapons as puzzle reward or while exploring. But it isn't much. Enemies drop at it's best dragon shards which gives you the opportunity to upgrade your weapon of choise. But if you think there aren't much weapons, there will be even less armors. I think you will start and finish the game with the same outfit.
At last, my favourite part of the game the exploring. I like it. It's personal taste if you like the level design. I like it. But what's disappointing is the non existing reaction of the enviroment to violence. You can't destroy little wooden constructions, barrels, urns, vases, and so on. This would add much to the impactfull combats. Your only interaction with the enviroment will happen through little puzzles. They are nice but not to complicated. I especially liked the Idea with the mirror and the wall carpet in the first area.

Verdict:
If you only want a simple but good polished Action Adventure with simplistic RPG elements and easy puzzles this is a good choice. It's a short game (5- 10 hours) for people who to digest something light after all these big scaled and often with mechanics overloaded AAA-games
