Ein Klassiker, der die grobe Vorlage für den aktuellen Kinofilm ist. Für viele mit einer der besten 3D Ableger, dessen zwei Jahrzehnte man aber deutlich anmerkt. Für Kenner ein Nostalgietrip, alle anderen sollten eine erhöhte Frustgrenze haben, den die Steuerung ist schwammig und die Kamera ist ungenau stellenweise

while it may take a little bit to get used to the controls of the game, it's really worth the price and i would reccomend it to anyone interested in playing. this game aged really well and it's one of my personal favorites, the different playstyles of the different characters switch up the gameplay and the 2 campaigns with overlapping stories are both really nice, allowing you to switch the story for a bit if you get stuck on a level in story mode

How could I even reach the final level back in 2001... It's been a long, long time ago, and Sonic Adventure 2 didn't age well. The graphics still hold up, nothing to complain here, and using the SAModmanager right from the start did make it work. But SA2 is FRUSTRATING as hell when it comes to gameplay! Sonic Adventure 1 had its bad moments too, but the successor put horrible camera on a new level. You will miss so many platforms, railways and whatever not due to your skill but due to a camera which is rotating or not rotating just like it wants. And the moment it rotates your direction input changes too. Sonic is litterally lost in space and you will die A LOT. Minor other issues come with the sound design Sonic Advance is "famous" for. Music is way louder then the nearly non audible and bad mixed voices, no lip synch at all, questionable pauses between dialogue or characters will speak at the same time and so on. The Knuckles levels are frustrating and boring too. The pc port sometimes will not activate the emerald radar, you will have to restart the game in this case. But even with radar it's no fun. The pyramid level and the metor level are just horrible. I owned a Dreamcast back then and consider myself to be a retro fan. I really wanted to get into that feeling again and spending 5 EUR for a sweet memory was ok. But like said, Sonic Adventure 2 aged terribly. I know, all the other games back then were struggling with similar issues. Everyone wanted to go 3D, but programmers still didn't know how to make 3D worlds playable in a way you can enjoy them, especially in fast paced games like Sonic. Instead of Sonic Adventure 2 I recommend you to play Sonic Adventure 1 using the mod manager. SA1 has much more character, a very nice story, you will get those retro vibes, and the pc port is 60 Hz instead of 30 Hz on the Dreamcast, so graphics are nice too. Controls in SA1 can be clunky, yes, but you will do it once you got used to it. I loved that game when I was a young grown up and still love it. SA 2 ruined that feeling unfortunately. It had the most impressive graphics in 2001 but I will never touch it again. Graphics aren't everything.
