this game is the most mid experience i had in a sonic game so far. the sonic story was actually pretty fun with a tough but fair final boss but sadly Trip's story and the "true finale" really dragged this game down for me. the music is also sometimes good sometimes really mid and some themes like the 1st main boss theme are just plain bad. trips story are the levels from the "storymode" (which is all over the place with nothing being really explained in regards to the true final boss) but with the worst way of adding difficulty aka by just spamming spikes and placing enemies in awkward spots. i also had a cool bug in frozen factory act 2 of trip's story that made it impossible for me to clear the level for some time, in the end i fixed that by starting the game in compatability mode and turning down my graphics settings to the minimum. fang's final boss isn't really difficult just long and tedious if you know what you are doing as it has a bunch of one hit KO attacks with no checkpoints. the fight is like 9 minutes long btw. same with the true final boss which is straight up luck based as your main source of rings can just get despawned by screen transitions and the final attack is straight up bugged no letting me home in on the meteors. the game is fine in the sonic story, heck if it only had the sonic story and cost 20$ i would probably praise this game but in the state it is in it is very overpriced and it's latter parts being straight up frustrating with the final bosses needing atleast checkpoints if not straight up rebalancing. 5/10 buy it for a discount if you must but for me it wasn't really enjoyable after sonic's story.
