The story sold me more than anything else. Took 3 playthroughs and 9 pages in notepad to really get a basic grasp of what was going on, now I'm trying to find out what happened before the events of the game, really makes you feel like a proper detective when the Tutorial consists of "Press T to see how shit works", and if you don't press T, you just keep going unhindered, accessible at any time, no pressure to play any particular way. (Big qualm though, I absolutely hate the stealth mechanics, but I do like that enemies will still try to guess where you're at when you're invisible and shoot the general area)

An incredible mess of a game, in the best possible way. Mechanics, lore, story, basically everything is incredibly ambitious but limited due to time, money and experience of the team. Somehow it all manages to mostly come together as well as a coherent vision but there are absolutely very noticeable setbacks. I really hope the new game they are developing (though from the teaser I am scared of it being another horde slasher like Vermintide...but I will keep my hopes up) is a sequel to this one as the potential for it to be an absolute masterpiece is sky high. Usually incredibly cheap and super fun with a friend, so go for it!

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, it’s old, rough and barely passable by today's standards as a fps but the story, atmosphere and underlying systems keep this game being talked about years after its release. It feels like a REALLY polished HL2 mod, I say this because it has the same jank and quirks that HL2 has like most of its brethren be it the AI, the feel of the weapons, the weird physics of objects when an explosions hit them etc. but overall plays really good. Gameplay is an FPS/RPG immersive sim like experience, you can build your character the way you want to play. You have options, a lot of options, to get your missions done within the parameters set by you; Hack, shoot, sneak, call some clones to fight for you, throw some floating turrets to fight for you, whatever, if there’s a problem you probably have a way to solve it; some are more fun then others but they are there. Story is…..complex and text dumpy if you bother to read it all, has multiple endings depending on which faction to align with, your playthroughs will vary greatly from the randomness that just happens with NPCs as well as your actions. Graphically it looks old by today’s standards, when it released in 2011 it looked old by standards then, being made off a game engine from 2004 but the way the game presents itself in its levels, art design and overall “vibe”, I think most can look past and appreciate for what its trying to accomplish. If this sounds fun to you buy this game: - Make a character thats basically the suit from Crysis - become a tech wizard that fights with just turrets - play as a psyhic druggie that blows up enemies with his mind - a ninja edgelord who is fast as fuck and uses only swords - the heavy from tf2 but with better health/armor - HACKERMAN,hack everything, even yourself - play the campaign with up to 4 players and mission coop in servers up to 16,all exp and money carries over with you Edit: Also Game's first playthrough is quite short and by design the game needs to be beaten 3 times to get the true ending,Some may see it as padding for time but by the two playthrough on the same character you pretty much know what you are doing and it's alot more fun bending the game to your will at that point.

E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy is a difficult game to write an in depth review about because I know I'll miss something. Nonetheless here's my attempt: This game is a one part mythical, three parts cyberpunk/sci-fi immersive sim built in the source engine and full of a whole variety of complex mechanics, worlds and factions to keep you hooked. My favorite part about E.Y.E is probably the atmosphere. Even with the dated graphics the environments still manage to create deeply unsettling and dark depictions of the future. This is in part thanks to the ambient soundtrack that utilizes a combination of synthesizers, and ethereal chants. Among my gripes with E.Y.E. are annoying enemies respawn rates, empty and oversized maps difficult to traverse with the slow movement speed. Additionally most of the upgrades aren’t even feasible within a playthrough. The biggest disappointment in this game is that it feels like there could’ve been so many more locations to explore, implied by the many empty gates in the hub world, that never ended up being opened. However the game pulls through, and ekes out (no, deserves) a positive review because of the ambiance and atmosphere within the environments, characters, factions, music, locations, and enjoyable immersive sim elements. I wish I could write a more in depth review on the variety of systems or how many of them feel “not quite there”/incomplete, but because it’s been so long since I’ve played the game I’m posting this overview. I’d definitely recommend checking out the Mandalore video to get an in depth idea of EYE. At its core this is a janky source engine game with some excellent atmosphere and a lot of half-realized ideas. The fake Warhammer 40k universe is intriguing (it’s based off of/adapting a similar table top game) and the immersive sim elements are definitely a draw, so I give EYE Divine Cybermancy a recommendation if you’re willing to put up with some janky and frustrating elements for some cool sci fi worlds and atmosphere.

Weird, janky, unique, and encompasses an overall vibe only early-mid 00's low budget FPS games seem to match. This game is far more than meets the eye, I have been hooked. 10 brouzoufs/10

First thing first, this game is the textbook example of user unfriendly. It does not tell you anything, and you have to figure it all out on your own (nearly impossible) or look up a guide or video to explain it. However, this significantly adds to the atmosphere of the game. I have not played a game similar to E.Y.E in the years since I first played it, and likely never will, until just recently. The devs of the game posted a teaser of a possible second game in the works, nearly 14 years after the first games release, and I truly hope that its just as fucked up as this one.

This is a decent immersive sim for the combat alone. If you want a game that will give you lots of approaches to killing stuff, maybe this is your jam. If you're expecting a compelling player-driven story the likes of Deus Ex or VTMB, skip this one. I came to terms with the awful opaque dialogue writing and was looking forward to at least unlocking some cool cyber abilities that would let me approach the levels differently (I really liked Deus Ex, okay?) but the resource investment to be able to actually afford any of those abilities is so high I had unlocked literally nothing other than stat upgrades by the end of my playthrough. At a glance, it looks like all the abilities are just combat upgrades that make you slightly better at shooting, slashing, running, or being shot. Also, the level design is awful. What should be simple 5-minute missions are turned into 30-minute slogs by spreading objectives out over miles of empty levels (sometimes interspersed with helicopters that can basically one-shot you from the skybox) that ask you to go back and forth between an NPC and random locations with a few enemies. Despite all this, there is a decent co-op shooter RPG somewhere behind these layers of jank that occasionally shines through, which is more than a lot of big-budget co-op shooters can say.

THIS AND SOME DEATH GRIPS Clunky, sometimes buggy, unbalanced, hacking sucks, very huge empty maps, YET, extremely enjoyable. I'm not kidding, it literally became one of my most favourite games. This game is so bad it's good, no, amazing. A lot of people compare it to Deus Ex but imo, it's more like Cruelty Squad, but on freaking Source engine. Get this game while it's on sale, or buy four pack and give 3 other copies to your friends... Oh yeah, IT HAS CO-OP, WHAT FUCКІNG ELSE DO YOU EVEN NEED FROM A MASTERPIECE??????? P.S shot out to MandaloreGaming and oomf for recommending me this game, you're the goat!
