just isn't the same in 3D

I had low expectations for this due to its horrible reviews, but turns out this is the only Close Combat game I like. The others I have played (Gateway to Caen and Close Combat 4: Battle of the Bulge) are much worse than this. I only recommend it for $10 or less though.

If you can pick it up for single digits, it's unique to play CC in 3D. But it's not one of the greats, there was so much potential here and they just gave up and did none of it. If they added proper terrain mapping, improved the cover mechanics, dropped the weird linear campaign and made it more like 5's, improved modding support and fixed the odd performance issues (weird given that this game is so very basic), then the concept of 3dCC could turn into the best title of the series. But they won't, they treat this franchise like garbage. TLDR: If its on deep discount, buy it for the experience, but that's all it's worth.
