TL:DR: Game is at best a 3/10 do not play it, or buy it unless you have a morbid curiosity or are masochistic. Interesting music, but game play, story, and characters are mediocre to bad at best. Do yourself a favor and play Tales of/Trails of if you want a better experience. I streamed this entire play through, and I will say it just doesn't feel good in the slightest, it's always one bit away from being good 7-8/10. The idea of music being powerful, is cool, but what they don't explain is that 99% of the time you're going to basically use ONE team throughout exempting a few minor parts where you're forced to use Tweedle D and Tweedle Dumb, or the MC gets ripped out of your hands, and you're stuck using a character whose best on the bench. The weapons being tied to learning music is implemented kind of stupidly (You either grind ONE thing to max level, and or do a repeatable quest to get more scores for weapon tuning [Different weapons] so you can balance out having a tank/Melee/healer/Range DPS) Doesn't start on a good note,. However this is compounded if you want to use more than 4+ characters, and spoiler you will have to at least 6 of them. If you want to use each character you have to grind each character, and not having a good way to auto level, (Outside of a certain crafted item) is silly. I get it's a VERY dated game, but when they brought it here, there could of been fixes put in. I did beat the game, but I wouldn't recommend on even if the game was 1 dollar or free. It's unfortunate, because it had potential to be pretty interesting and different. The combat is extremely samey like worse than a Dynasty Warriors samey, the Dialogue while interesting boils down to essentially, I'm a very naive MC who doesn't understand double entendre, horny baiting, and is too sincere for his own good. This game at it's best is a 3/10, even modding it wouldn't fix the inherent issues I have with it.
