Evanescence the video game, in a good way.
Also, buy the OST as it is really good.

Almost dropped this early into Act II but something kept me coming back. Glad I did because now I'm in love with this game. Incredible aesthetic, voice acting and music. Challenging but satisfying game play loop.
No real technical problems besides a visual bug during the Act III and V bosses where the graphic showing an attacks aoe remained on the screen permanently.

Its a very nice, rogue-lite kind of take on a top-down turn-based game. Gets very hard very quick but satisfying to complete missions. The art and enemy designs are very good too. A great buy especially on sale.

It's good.
Easy to understand mechanics and abilities.
Simple, but good, visuals and baller soundtrack.
Progression generally revolves around getting better at managing stamina and health with meta progression elemets.

I remember playing part way through it once and for whatever reason I didn't get a good impression of the game, even playing on the 'dream' difficulty. One of the bosses just seemed impossible.
For whatever reason an itch has caused me to try it again. Playing it on the 'nightmare' difficulty - yes it's hard, but as long as you're paying attention to the enemies abilities and acknowledge you will have to make sacrifices, it's actually quite reasonable. It offers a challenging puzzle underneath a grim story and styling. If you like the turn based combat systems, this is definitely worth a look.

Would I play this game, absolutely. It’s got great death of creatures that you have to fight. I have only played a few hours, but I want to progress my draughters to be able to crush my enemy. Its black, white, and crimson palette creates a gothic, oppressive atmosphere that I felt perfectly highlighted the Daughters' life force and the blood of their foes. The character and enemy designs are intricate and memorable, making every frame feel like a piece of dark art. Othercide is a challenging and punishing game, but for me, embracing its grim vision offered an incredibly rewarding experience. It's a unique, unforgettable artistic and gameplay journey where beauty and strength emerge from the darkest corners.

This game has a nice story , and the combat is more like puzzle rather than a tactics. Bosses WILL DO extra actions , even in chain if you are doing things too good. But it's a nice unique playstyle for a game that wants to be a "hard" turn based "tactics".

It feels too samey and tedious as if there isnt much gameplay or variation, so it's masked behind the roguelite tag, get it cheap!

Othercide is a beautiful but haunting tactical game that is also brutally hard. The black-and-white visuals splashed with red are arresting and create a tremendously memorable world that meshes well with the theme and feeling of the game.
The gameplay is very hard and punishing. When your Daughters are injured, you cannot heal them unless you sacrifice one of your other Daughters. This creates heavy and purposeful decisions, as this game is not a power fantasy but instead is built on loss, strategy, and resilience.
The music is terrific, moody, intense, and emotionally compelling. It adds something to every battle and instead of each fight being a tactical affair, each fight is instead a grim yet elegant dance of survival.
Fun, stylish, and tremendously challenging, Othercide is strategy at its most poetic and punishing.

Othercide is a visually striking game—its style definitely stands out and caught my interest early on. I also appreciated how each run builds on the last through the remembrances system, which adds a layer of progression that feels meaningful.
Unfortunately, the game lost me when it came to the combat. It ended up feeling slow, repetitive, and tedious, which clashed hard with what I expected. The strategic elements didn’t click, and despite sticking with it to the end, it felt like a grind more than a challenge.
Not a game I’d recommend, unless you’re drawn in by the visuals and don’t mind toughing out a combat system that might test your patience more than your skills.
