This game is linked to DCS, this is a gaming platform to run this game and many others, I never got to play this game nor some other games because DCS did not reconised them and therefore did not play them. Steam personell was very helpful, but could not link this game to DCS, therefore I returned the product, you might be better than I at linking the game ,or not. Dennis

This is blaitant false advertising, you can't play this game without some other DLC though Steam only says you need DCS world base game. Deceptive and probably criminal in my country.

It's a broken physics cheap campaign added to DCS. The P-51 flight model stalls at even fast speeds and spins out of control in high maneuvers. The AI will out maneuver you every time since you have to "baby" your controls. This is as bad as IL-2's WW2 aircraft physics. How is it old games from the early 90's have better flight models then the current decade?! At least my planes flew in those older games. What good are graphics and cockpit interaction when the plane simply does not fly!? I'm sorry but I cannot rate this a thumbs up. I like DCS but some of the aircraft models in my opinion were never finished.

It's well researched and built. The problem is that they forgot this is a sim and not the real war, campaigns don't need to be repetitive and boring.

Fun Campaign, the negative reviews are mostly people who don't know anything about DCS. Its got action, don't have to fly for an hour to get into the fight and replay-ability is there. you can break off and do what you want or follow the mission. I've had a lot of fun playing it.

Ive played this campaign twice, and i think its very fun. Most of the reviews seem to be from people that cant read the products description before buying it. If youre looking for a decent time flying the p51 i think this is worth 10 bucks, assuming you own all the required assets and map. Its 12 missions centered around the battle of Caen soon after D-day and you fly mostly bombing missions but there are definitely bandits flying around to dogfight with. What i like about this campaign compared to blue nosed bastards is you take off and land in France so you arent crossing the channel twice every mission. The f10 map symbols are available so it makes it a lot more casual. Overall id give it a 7/10. Fun but nothing to write home about.

Man, what a boring mess. I should've listened to the other reviews. Even for free it would be hard to sell imho. You pretty much only do A2G and there are no mission goals to speak of; you fly around, shooting up columns of vehicles and that's it. Stay away from this one, it's not worth it. Oh, and the allied AI is so bad, that it's not only "not hitting the broadside of a barn", they'd be hard pressed to hit even a whole village with their bombs! And that's not an exaggeration either: when they drop bombs they are sometimes off by half a mile, I mean wtf!?

If you own the Mustang and the Normandy 44 Map/Assets - why wouldn't you buy a detailed and well documented campaign based off RL squadron records and missions flown at the time. Not a great WWII fan myself but had to boot it up, just to see if it works as there are couple of negative reviews saying it didn't ? It added to my DCS DLC list on purchase and downloaded once I restarted the Steam client, so no problems there. Haven't played through mission 1 but starting it - the radio calls, allied AI flights, well placed assets, detailed briefing and introductory campaign .pdf confirm a quality product. The campaign focus seems to be A2G with a little A2A, which is the way I like it and looks to be replayable, as there are opportunities to miss targets or change the way missions play out. As mission 1 makes good use of assets/AI, is was a little heavy on performance for my weak system spec (860 i7 @ 2.8 GHz, 12GB DDR3, GTX 1050 Ti) but acceptable (~30 fps on the ground and ~50 fps in the air). Tested in DCS 2.5, YMMV

Operation Charnwood is a fun and challenging campaign for the P-51. if you have the P-51, Normandy map, and assets pack then no question about it this is a must have .It seems to me the neg reviews on this campaign are from people that did not read the full description where it says you have to all ready own the (P-51) the (Normandy map) and the( WW2 assets) pack to even use this Campaign. IMHO this is the best Combat Flight Sim for WW2 on the market today. this is worth the full price (its that good) and im talking about all the stuff you have to have to use the campaign not just the campaign itself 5 out of 5 stars . but if you wait for a big steam sale they happen all the time, you can pick up everything you need as well as this campaign for under 60 bucks in my opinion that's a steal at 60 bucks for all that. you can tell they really put a lot of time into the plane the map and the assets as well as making this campaign one of the best campaigns you can get for DCS. A must have if you like the P-51
