[h1][b]Review[/b][/h1] [b][i]Dark Devotion[/i][/b] is unbearable. There are excruciating problems with this thing. And I will be very, very vocal about it below, but trust me, I make no exaggerations when I state how awful it is. [hr][/hr] [h3][b]The Drawbacks[/b][/h3] [list] [*][b]YOU. CANNOT. JUMP.[/b] Yeah! This is a game, a platformer, with [b]PLATFORMS[/b], but you cannot jump. Am I crazy? Or is this stupidly absurd? I would like to meet the genius person who came up with this. [*]Pausing the game doesn't really pause the game! Whooooa, wow, that is rich. Jesus Christ, it feels like the developers intentionally wanted to make this game feel like garbage. [*]What button would you say is the attack button? Perhaps you would say [b]X[/b]? Nah, how about [b]Y[/b]? Nope. It's [b]RT[/b], [b]RT![/b] The [b]X[/b] is for interactions ([i]what an amazing idea[/i]), [b]Y[/b] is to pray, an action you use to activate things in some places, [b]B[/b] is dodge (that is fair), and [b]JUMP doesn't exist![/b] The [b]A[/b] button, where jump should be, is for changing between two of your builds. And guess what, you can't rebind the [b]AWFUL[/b] buttons inputs; you are stuck with this nightmare. Oh my f... God. [*]Unless you are using a mouse, or you don't remember what the item you have does, you can't know it for sure, because there is no way of inspecting it, unless you use the effing mouse. [*]Instant kill spikes are everywhere, because I guess only 4 atrociously awfully repulsive game design choices weren't enough. [*]The combat is also atrocious because you have so little stamina to attack, so the only way to kill enemies "safely" is to attack [b]ONCE[/b] and dodge away and repeat the same awful thing over and over again. [i]So fun![/i] [*]There are so many, but so many rough-around-the-edges little things. And that wouldn't be so significant, but when all you have at your disposal is displeasure for what you got, it's hard to ignore. [*]The pixel art is, in the best case, mediocre. The game is awfully dark in all areas I went through, so even if it was great pixel art (which it is not), it would be painful to see. [/list] [hr][/hr] [h3][b]Conclusion:[/b][/h3] [b][i]Dark Devotion[/i][/b] might be one of the worst games I ever played; there are so many absurd issues that it makes me think if it's not some kind of experimental joke made by the developers. There are [b]NO REDEEMABLE[/b] qualities whatsoever, and the worst thing of all is that I can't refund this trash. [h2][b]1/10[/b][/h2]
