STAY CLEAR. The product does not work in my case and with no instructions whatsoever I can do next to nothing to try and help myself. What's really nice is that this product is unsupported entirely, be aware of that! It is published by Dovetail but Dovetail will ignore you if you ask them for help, because apparently they don't provide support on it which I had to find out by posting a rant on their forums after a year of trying to contact them directly. They will point you to Microsoft, but there is absolutely no entity within that organisation that I could discern that you can contact about this product. The product homepage, fsxinsider, has a support link at the top right - that will take you do Dovetail support, which won't help you. It's always nice when they have absolutely no issues in taking your money but whenever something comes up, all the sudden nobody's responsible for the damn thing anymore. Sadly you apparently have to get used to that kinda thing in the Flight Simulation world.

I have no problems with this DLC at all, it certainly improves on the standard FSX night lighting and has had little or no impact on my FPS. For £9 its worth a shot in my opinion.

I'm sure that this add-on makes night of FSX more fancy than before. But, this is not the best. Light of the city is shown as countless dots, and this not that seems good when hovering at low altitude. If there were better night sceneries, I'd rather bought that instead.

Sadly as of my purchase in September 2024 the DLC is missing the installation script that would enable the replacement textures and therefore you will see no difference if you acquire this add-on. I'm still investigating how to manually enable the DLC contents.
Steam/DTG - please ensure the basic installation is working when you sell items as this DLC is currently defective. From a UK Trading Standards perspective this most definitely qualifies as faulty goods.

This is a good texture-based upgrade when it comes to night flying. Cities, towns and highways look more vibrant and alive than with the original night textures that came with the sim. All in all, this add-on has enhanced my enjoyment of night flying.

I'm sure that this addon works well on different FSX setups, but using this mod and the combination of my ENB settings I've found that the world is actually TOO dark, as in I can't even see the stars at night and that's when i'm in the middle of nowhere or flying at crusing alttitude. Beware if you've already adjusted FSX's night setting and the like since it may actually make it worse or just be straight up incompatible altogether.

I must say i have several addons but to date this is the best one yet. I like flying at night and thier is a huge differance. I give this one a must have for FSX users. Remember it does the whole sim world as well.

Pretty good in places like Europe and North America where having lit highways and roads is the norm. The problem comes about when flying in developing nations such as India and parts of Africa, I do long haul flights to these countries all the time in real life and part of the experience is looking out below to see large swaths of darkness as most areas are uninhabited. Instead I see non stop city lights as far as the eye can see, for example there is a whole city worth of lights over a part of the world I know is a wild life reserve.

Cities and towns are enhanced somewhat, but literally every road in the game becomes as bright as a highway, including those in remote areas. I was flying over mountains, in a part of the US I know well, and the road below - in what should be a desolate area with little to no traffic - was solid bright with light. Not very realistic for remote area flying, probably ok if you stick to the cities.
