Train Simulator: Köln Airport Link Route Extension Add-On DLC

My route runs good. But I will still put an negative review on this route. Why? The reasons are as follows. 1. The 423 is basically the same as it was many years ago, without any changes except the livery. 2. Near Porz-wann the speed limit drop down from 160kph to 16kph without any warning. Obviously the developer made a very stupid mistake by missing an "0" when inputing the data, poor DTG! 3. Many QD scenarios failed to load. So far I can only start the QD from Troisdorf to Cologne, but cannot from any intermediate stations.

I was very excited to play this route but when I played a scenario the map didn't load properly, and the scenario failed to load. Restarting the scenario made the scenario load but not the map. The map fails to load all the time. Please fix this because I really want to play this DLC!

Unfortunately this DLC is full with errors. It is not loading the routes properly, even with the standard trick: F2 and cancel solves not the issue with some scenerios. @ dovetails solves these issues please and provide us an update!

Goes bit fast up in speed, and no warning when you got to speed down. Still a good route, if you expect a cool Airport. Dont buy it, there is not even a taxsiway/runway. But still cool! Remember the DLC you need to be able to play it!

The line itself is really nice, but good lord it's absolutely riddled with hidden speed slowdowns. One minute, you're happily going 100kph, suddenly, your score is plummeting because you're now doing 100 in an 60 section.

I have yet to be able to use this addon because for some reason I don't have the BR155 locomotive despite having the original DLC that came with that locomotive. Until that is rectified I can't even play it without it giving me an error because it can't find the particular locomotive and it's parts in my library. Edit: The parts have appeared in my library as of 5/19. The fast response of the development team is greatly appreciated and due to this quick response I will be able to play the new DLC. Absolutely disappointing or at least mixed. The environment is OK, detailed, problems start with the trackside signals. Except one somewhere around the airport there are definitely no speed limit warning signs on the line. This is lame. It is a german route, they put signs everywhere. The Br423 is my favourite in ZuSi but not here...it looks ugly, thanks to the total lack of phototexture. Never drove it in real life, but the performance look absolutely unreal for me. Sounds are...well, its has sound, not much and not detailed. Forget it, quite the same experience if you play with speaker turned off. If you want to drive around Köln (Cologne), purchase the other route to Koblenz, not this. This is...a shame.

Well, this route is pretty bad. I consciously chose to ignore the bad reviews, knowing that for German routes at least some of speed limit complaints come from the fact that route builders do not annouce all of them on HUD, but if you only observe signals, you are okay. And some minor errors are acceptable to me. So perhaps this is one of those cases too? Well, it isn't. Signalling and speed limits ARE broken in this route. There are signals warning you of speed restriction, but with the display supposed to show the limit blank. There truly are unannouced limits (e.g. near Troidsorf). And I even found an all-green signal with an active PZB magnet (in fact the magnet was okay, the signall wasn't). On top of this, there is LZB, where, to the best of my knowledge, there shouldn't be any - at S-Bahn tracks near Troisdorf (to the best of my knowledge it should only be present on the long-distance tracks). Threre is no graphic representation (no wire), but it suddenly activates. To this we get a pretty mediocre BR 423 EMU. I have never driven a real thing, but the acceleration seems a bit too easy on this. It is pretty easy to operate, although has annoying controls, where the power/brake throttle will not stop at 0, so getting to coast on keyboard is unnecessarily difficult. DTG can do better than this. It's all a pity, because the route looks nice (for a TS1 route of certain vintage that is), and adds some interesting possibilities for scenario creation. But in practice playing it is an exercise in frustraction. Therefore, I cannot honestly recommend it. It's not unplayable, you can learn to drive it and ignore the errors, but then why would you, if there are so many better options available? But certainly, if you still feel an urge to buy, because let's say you love the area, do at least wait for a decent sale.

Not the worst route, but I did enjoy it, and I enjoyed it more because I did travel along the route in person when I recently went on my German holiday to Cologne. Same issue i have is the same with the Hamburg - Hanover route, unnoticeable speed restrictions that change from 160kph to 30 or60kph, which is annoying especially how I'm trying to get 1000 points on career mode. I like it, and it's not too bad. I rate it 6.5/10 Get it during the sale.

Come on, Dovetail, it's 2018 already! Why do you not put out a polished product, is it because us dummies just buy it anyway? Do you need me to help beta test and write up a punchlist of things for sure could be fixed in short order? The route overall is fantastic, but the bugs make the scenarios not fun. Moving along 130 kph and suddenly no speed limit sign, much less speed reduction sign ahead or PZB warning and BAM! 60 kph and you have lost the game. I'll still try to finish all the scenarios because the route is beautiful and some of the scenarios are good, but please finish your products in the future before release. Sincerely, Best Regards...
