Good loco. To get for quick drive customize the standard formations and it will be avaible. Scenarios for portsmouth dr are limited.

The Class 455/9 is a great addition to Train Simulator, I have had this since 2012 and I still regularly use this in my scenario creations and just driving it in general! It is always a nice touch to see one coming around the corner, into platform 1 or 2 at Guildford! Overall, I would rate this 8/10- the sounds could be improved. However, with the AP sound pack installed I'd rate this 9/10. I'd like to see more functions in the cab for it to be 10/10.

Pre AP SP: Nice little EMU for the PDL. My only complaint for this one is the sounds. But alteast when I buy the AP soundpack it will sound better. Post AP SP: above review still stands, sounds are better, although there's not much you can do with this scenario wise... 14/17

You are getting your money's worth with this loco, which has many scenarios and liveries. The train doesn't run on the PDL in real-life, but who cares? Nobody.

A fine little train, no technical issues => upvote. Very easy to drive, fit for casual sessions. Four but very short scenarios, taking 80-90 minutes overall. No player timetable, no stress. No quick drive consist defined - can do so yourself, or build scenarios in the editor. This 455/9 has no passenger camera, but you can look around with the free camera. Each livery has different colors inside, too. Two other versions exist, 455/8, one comes with the updated PDL and the other is for South London Network. Those have quick drive consists defined, easier to jump in. This train is useful if you want to build your BR / NSE era scenarios, mix with the plenty of old trains available.

Good looking and drives/brakes well. The downside is, like much of DTG purchases it lacks some details that one would expect as basic, e.g. Cab Lighting, signal/start buzzer and passenger views; also, it's disappointing that it cannot be used in Quick Drive mode. Having bought quite a number of Routes and Add-ons over the last 18 months or so, I am now going to have a general moan. I have to say with the large majority of my acquired products I always feel let down and disappointed and end up witha sense of having been sold short. Usually because of a lack of attention to detail; work being rushed and unfinished; a minor glitch or oversight by the DTG Product designers and Technicians - and a feeling that they're not really bothered or are reluctant to repair or amend these errors. Judging by the tone of other correspondents I am not alone in thinking this! Microsoft Train Simulator from the very start always allowed more freedom of play than currently enabled by DTG TS: there was no restriction on routes, locos or points control - in whatever scenario - and errors were quickly rectified by patches. It is very sad that, given the huge improvement in graphics and technical resources over the last few years, Dovetail is unable(?) to provide this (BASIC) facility of what I call total freedom (OF CHOICE). Don't get me wrong, DTG TS designs and dispenses some excellent, outstanding merchandise, but more often than not, it is the silly, unnecessary mistakes and glaring omissions that "spoils the ship"! It is in danger of becoming great in quantity rather than quality! Personally, I would be very happy if DTG only concentrated on providing accurate, well-detailed Routes and Locos ( with comprehensive controlable handles. levers, buttons and switches in cabs!)and dispensed with Standard and Career scenarios - which in the main seem to be pretty facile - thus allowing one to structure and manage one's own itinerary and timetable.. FREEROAM of choice!!! Is is too much to ask for? It should not be too much to expect...!

In a nutshell. Its a very nice add on if you are into EMU's. Its got a nice cab and the sounds are decent as well. The acceleration is good especially when using the low frequency mode at Notch 4. The brakes are sharp but with some practice its okay. Shame there is no included scenarios for the London to Brighton scenarios as I am certain that the BR versions served Victoria in the 1980's? But who really cares, just enjoy yourself if you like EMU's. Overall Rating: 8/10.
