Not the biggest fan of the concept of a half sequel, however for that this is a well executed game. A nice followup it does a good job tying up the last story ends of the series, with Billie Lurk, Daud and the Outsider. Beside that, its the old gameplay we all love from this franchise.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider may not be as expansive as its predecessors, but it delivers a tight, well-crafted experience that serves as a satisfying conclusion to the series. Stripping away some of the complexity of previous entries, it offers a more streamlined yet still deeply engaging take on the immersive sim formula, while maintaining the signature style, stealth mechanics, and freedom of approach that make Dishonored stand out.

Honestly, I enjoyed the game. My criticism is the lack of more new maps and that it's too short. Billie's powers were nice, especially the semblance. I loved the Bank Job and robbing Galvani again. So many ways to approach the bank mission, it was satisfying to replay only that chapter again and again to try every entry and open every safe. The concept of contracts was interesting and I have nothing against the lack of chaos system since we're playing as Billie Lurk, a literal mercenary assassin, not someone of high position with good morals. Overall, a good addition to the series.

But of COURSE I fucking love this game. Hello? It's kind of weirdly between a DLC and a whole game, but I am glad for the continuation of the story and the new gameplay elements. It feels natural, feels good, plays great. If you liked Dishonored 2, you should play this one too.

It is a solid game, you can go full psycho without "consequences", take your time to explore everything. If you like this franchise this game is fine, the ending is, maybe, underwhelming, but ok.

An interesting spin on the dishonored franchise, kind of bringing some closure to the trilogy. At first the new power system was very annoying, it functioned differently from the first game, but I got use to it and it's quirks. The levels are well designed for multiple paths and choices. But the end is a bit anti climactic, though I wouldn't want them to milk the series either, who knows, Please play the previous games as well, they were even better crafted

Played on high difficulty, still got only 15 hrs out of the game. It's a bit-sized playthrough compared to previous titles. Story is weak, characters weaker. Save your money, buy a better game.

Death of the Outsider had a lot of potential largely thanks to the strong foundation provided by the previous entries in the series but it failed to utilize those foundations to their fullest and ended up feeling more like an unneeded side-story than the true conclusion to everything that had come before. The decision to limit the player to just 3 powers gave the developers room to craft a highly tailored experience, focusing less on the open-ended freedom of the previous games and more on tailoring the levels to be a perfect fit for this limited repertoire. But while the powers are useful and engaging, they don’t feel any more integrated with the levels than if you had just kept the same abilities as the base game provides. Instead of offering clever challenges that push these abilities to their limits, the game often allows them to bypass obstacles too easily, making progression feel both restrictive and unengaging.
DOTO has five missions, giving it plenty of room to ramp up the pressure over time with some gradual progression in difficulty and complexity with the new powers. But their actual execution is weak. Only the
Bank Heist
mission felt it approached the quality of base game while the other four levels were either too linear, overly simplistic, or just recycled from Dishonored 2 with some underwhelming tweaks. They lack the intricate level structure of the previous entries without compensating in some other manner making the DLC as a whole feel more like a stripped-down version of Dishonored 2 rather than an expansion or a more polished version.
While the core mechanics are still good, DOTO struggles to justify itself as a meaningful entry to the series. It doesn’t deliver the challenge that might entice experienced players, nor the creative opportunities that would draw in players wanting more of the same like they got from the previous games. Its story is also quite underwhelming, feeling more like an awkward attempt to give the series a conclusion by throwing in some last-minute plot points rather than properly tying all the previous games together into something resembling a planned narrative. While it may still be worth playing just for the sake of completing the series, Death of the Outsider isn’t something you should lose sleep over if you decide to skip it even if you like the series as a whole.
