This game is peak. It is the best 2D Sonic game I've played, and it's not even Sonic. Buy it immediately. I will say there are some bugs, but nothing major.

Well that's a proper game. Obviously inspired by the game it's obviously inspired by, but a dash of MegaMan thrown in.

Super fun game (only played the first stage by the way) but it kinda disappoints me I can't play it at full screen. When the game starts, the screen just turns black and I can only hear what happens. I don't know if team still updates the game, but it would be nice if they fixed it.

Spark is a homage to the 2D Sonic games, but with the addition of Kirby's powers. It's more fun than some of the Sonic games and the powers are mostly cool. Mechanically, it could be a bit more varied as I ended up picking two powers and sticking with them most of the game. There were some neat interactions of the powers in the environment (ice letting you stand on water is the only one that comes to mind now). I also appreciate that there are very few instant death traps. Small nitpicks: Aside from a few random difficulty spikes, the base game is a bit too easy and the levels are too long. The camera is a little too zoomed in. The level design is all over the place as well going from a factory or city to a forest and things like that. All the levels are linked together so it kind of makes everything feel homogeneous. I got this on sale and it's worth checking out if you're a fan of 2D Sonic back before Sonic Team started doing crack or whatever happened to them.

While the writing may not be the best and on a technical level its a little jank, this game more than makes up for it with fast and fun gameplay that never stops being a blast across 16 beautifully sprited levels. Who would've thought that mashing Kirby's ability gimmicks with Sonic's platforming style would make such a fun game. Also that soundtrack is KILLER and pretty much worth the asking price alone.

this is a great game. I think that it is over shadowed by spark 2 and 3 but it is better than 2 and almost on pare with 3. it was made by one guy and that alone makes the games scope and quality a great achivment. I thinl calling this a sonic clone does it a disserves. PS sorry for the spelling

Definitely a fun game highly recommended if freedom planet was your sorta thing, although I will say. The challenge modes are exactly that, and they are H A R D.

This is a good game dragged down by poor decisions. For starters, the game has great controls and great mechanics. The Kirby-like power-ups add a lot of options to change up the experience. However, the game's bad aspects shine through to make this game a slog to play. First of all, the game is quite unpolished, with pausing not working in one of the levels and a bad rebind system that resets your controls when you quit. Additionally, the game's later levels really drag, with them taking up to 15 MINUTES to complete, to the point I was just begging for the game to end. Spark the Electric Jester had the potential to be a really great game, but the bad unfortunately overshadows the good. But if you're able to look past the negative aspects, then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

As a longtime sonic fan this is one of the best sonic-like games I have ever played. Great level design, great art direction, movement feels great and the soundtrack bangs. Despite its inspiration on its sleeve it still is very much unique not only in its world design but in the fact that there is an actual combat system here with different transformations. Really fun stuff. The dev deserves praises for making this gem
