Look man, I get it, everyone makes a ww2 rts at some point, but come on man. What the fuck is this. Maybe I'm the crazy one, but if I tell a unit to go to a place, and perhaps even stay there, if I look away for ten whole seconds. It should be there when I get back. Not go gallivanting halfway across the entire goddamn map, chasing after enemy vehicles, or dragon eggs or ghosts or goblins or perhaps even gnomes with their pots of gold. Or retreating, not when they're stunned, but just in general.
I don't get it, maybe steel division is actually really good, and I'm just retarded. Maybe this is just a conflict of personal opinions, but wargame feels a hell of a lot slicker, more polished, and units don't behave weirdly. Running off as soon as they're unloaded, or just driving ass first into enemy lines. I just don't get it.
On the flipside, I get eugens idea to have more scripted campaign missions instead of just dumping you into a multiplayer map against AI.
Most of all, I miss the tightness of wargames control, or at least the feeling of control, and while I don't like, the pinning mechanic, I understand why its there. And I hate it. Either stun my ass, or let me retreat the soldiers, please don't make me press another button.
This game feels like an amalgam of Eugens other semi modern RTS offerings with a dash of company of heroes, with neither of the aspects that make those games enjoyable. I'm not gonna refund it because I'm not petty, but this is, in my opinion, closer to something I would challenge my friends to as an endurance test, than a real game. Which is unfortunate, but hey. Thems the brakes.

The missions are hard, they have an old RTS game feel to them with real bad voice overs - Steel Division 2 is a direct upgrade in all regards but nothings gives you hedge rows like SD1. 6/10

it's a little bit complicated at first, you need to pay attention to everything and all the positions but is fun. 1 thing that i dislike is that the allies units seems to be much strongher than the germans
