Train Simulator: GWR Large Prairies Steam Loco Add-On DLC

Big loco for a big route. I love using this for the Heathfield and small freight work, worth the purchase

As is typical from Victory works, I'm finding this DLC to be quite fun, challenging, and offers a lot of enjoyment with lots packed into the addon. Excellent model, good sounds, good simulation of the engine. I'm no expert, but I enjoy the more advanced aspects of this simulation. I can't think of any negatives. Get it!

Another magnificent steam locomotive from Victory Works! The graphic details are exquisitely rich and immersive (you can see the firebricks in the firebox!), the realism features are astonishing (read the manual and watch out for the need to reset the 2nd valve on the throttle - I got caught out at first). The sounds are big, real, and rich, adding greatly to a sense of immersion. Steam clouds are the best I've seen yet - voluminous and dense (which I love.) This simulated locomotive conveys an enormous sense of weight and power. Even at 35 mph this thundering beast feels dangerously fast and almost out of control. The driver position views are perfect (for me, at least) and include my favourite leaning-out-the-windows views. The interior lighting in the cab is also perfect - I have trouble seeing details in the cabs of many TS steam locos, but not in the Large Prairie. Along with their Saint class and Stroudley Terrier locos, the Large Prairies place Victory Works right at the pinnacle of steam locomotive simulation experts. I must give my highest recommendations for this product!

Great Add-on with lots of little details Including Amazing Texturing, Great Sounds by SSS, Great Senarios although different routes would be nice, and props to Victory Works for finally making Ex-GWR Wagons. Now just waiting for someone to making proper B-sets. The only problem I have with this addon is that Victory works did not include BR Green Lined/Unlined or BR Lined Black. But all in all amazing addon and I can't wait to see what else Victory Works has in store. 8/10

While not as fun as the small prairies, in my opinion, these are more or less just oversized versions of the small prairies. They are real fun, and great for just about any route you have for England. Purchased on sale

This loco by victory works is pretty good for the sim sounds and physics are pretty good better than most dtg locos released today and this was released in 2017 Model of the large paririe from victory works is nice Whistle is brilliant track joint sounds are good and not cringe worthy Like the amount of features this loco has and the amount of head light configurations you can do I can recommend this loco to anyone as its pretty good and nice to drive

Another glittering package from Pete and the team at Victory Works. Wonderful large GWR Prairies that complement my stable of the small ones, in 4 different Classes in both GWR Green and BR Black, and along with a plethora of mixed freight wagons, including a Tunnel Inspection Van and a Herring Hopper freight wagon, which we haven't had released before in the game, it's yet another top quality pack to keep us entertained on our numerous Great Western routes, highly recommended.

To anyone who is buying this pack... PROS: Spectacular Model and Detail Selection of Liveries -BR Black (Early, Mid and Late Crests with Weathered Version) -GWR Green (Shirtbutton, Name, Lettering and British Railways in GWR Font) Great Sounds of SSS (the whistles are part of the GWR Standardisation Policy, hence it is recycled from Saints and 42xx) !!!!Animated Whistle Chain!!!! Great Physics Variety of Rolling Stock Unique Tunnel Inspection Train No Lag in Cab anymore! Great Price! CONS: Should have released the BR Green, but im not complaining... Should have made a different brake van, instead of the same toad BV from the 42xx There is still that annoying texture when the loco goes through bridges or stations on the Riveria line in the 50s 4 SCENARIOS... WANT MORE! and on different routes... To sum up... The GWR Large Prairies are superb as always with Victory Works. Their time and effort to making this pack pays off... and we hope to seeing more great dlcs from Victory Works... next stop; the LNER Q6!

The running sounds are great but the whistle is the annoyance here. NOW i understand the concept of churchwards GWR Standardisation plan. Absolutely excellent, from working water tank level gauge to the firebox glow increasing with blower usage - this really is a superb engine. Brilliantly modelled and all the options. I thought the 41xx supplied by Steam Sounds Supreme (also made by victory works) on pro was a level above the best of the rest - but the large Prairie is all that is excellent about the 41xx and some. If you're a steam period, run your own scenarios, pro player - this is a must for any GWR, western region line.....super loco. I bow down in homage to you Victory works.
