Very realistic line to what used to be in Nottingham scenarios are challenging but enjoyable all-round the V2 is unplayable so that's very deceptive would i recommend? YES, if you can get it on sale it's better but i would recommend even with the current price tag

It is worth it just for the locomotives if you do not have them. The route itself is okay, but there are definitely far better ones with a similar theme. However, none of those can be bought for $6.99 on sale.

As the route is excellent, the locos are brilliant as it gives off the taste of what life was like back then. On the bad side the sounds are outdated but you can get sound patches from steam sounds supreme. Apart from that I would get the route for £14.99 as it has a big space of shunting and passenger use. 8/10 for this route.

An excellent route. Nottingham Victoria, London Road, Netherfield stations are very good representations of the long gone actual, I can almost see myself standing where I used to. Colwick shed and yard are superb, the only thing missing are the footbridges which took the footpath over certain tracks. Signalling is as I recall except the home signal between the level crossing at Colwick shed west and Netherfield station was very tall to give sighting over the houses with a low level repeater. Very realistic and challenging. Lots of workshop material as well. Absolutely worth every penny. Well done DTG

A few scenarios, namely the 8F scenarios are very glitchy, the pressure rockets up and down, despite doing everything right, in a matter of minutes. I purchased this DLC believing that i could play the V2, however it is a background non playable loco, which is very deceptive and in the manual isn't listed as a playable loco, and not listed as a non playable loco, this was the main reason i purchased this DLC, to play the V2. Very disappointed as its not very diverse in terms of scenarios and on the whole, a bit boring. don't buy this DLC.

Hard to be fair on this route as I'm not too impressed with what I've seen. In terms of assets most of it seem to have been taken right out of the Woodhead line including some of the specific add-ons that go with it. The design of the line is ok and there's enough to keep you busy but some parts look poorly put together especially in one of the tunnels which looks downright nasty along with a few LED signals which I'm certain did not exist yet. For veteran players or those with a strong taste for British steam may find themselves with content they mostly already own with the only new addition being the route itself. As for new players they have a fairly sweet deal on their hands as most of the loco's included are available as seperate purchases for other routes with these being: Robison O4 with V2 included is $7.99 "Woodhead Line" Thompson B1 $8.99 "Woodhead Line" Fowler 4F $8.99 " Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway" This means if the player gets or already owns the two mentioned routes have extra scenarios ready to go. As for me if I got this at full price I would have easily put a thumbs down but 50% off on sale earns it a lucky thumbs up. 5/10

This Railworks Addons is it definitly worth the full price. There are many scenarios in the pack, and a huge amouth of rolling stock, which gives this Route a very atmospheric experience as it was in the steam era around Nottingham. One guy here in the feedback area wrote about the assets, that everybody could rebuild this route, because there are no "specific new" assets. In my opinion it´s not about that, if you compare this route with pictures from the past 1950 between 1965 you will see this route is made very, very detailed. All the junctions, sidings and stations are named and are recognizeable as it were. Also it´s not that easy rebuilt a Route from more than a half century back. There are maybe track plans left, but many of the Lines, Branches, Motive Power Depots (like colwick, annesley...) closed after 1970 as the stea era ended and rail tracks were dismantled. This Time dovetail did good work and i can recommend it absolutley. I hope they know this level should be standard for selling other addons. Today its not enough publish a product and think buyers will be happy if "it" moves a llittle bit forward and little bit backward. Many developers prove with theyr "pro" addons, that its indeed possible to make this whole experience such realistic as possible on a computer.

I really like this route mainly because it covers the era of steam, which is an era where I was fortunate to spend 3 great years working in, in New Zealand. I definitely prefer British Routes and Steam because they are the most like the NZ countryside and the 4-wheeled wagons look so much like those I saw and worked with. PRO. The two scenarios I have run to date are very well thought through, with lots of AI traffic to keep the run interesting. The B1 loco appears to have been updated from the original one, in that the head and taillights appear to be brighter, the whistle works with both the spacebar and the "B" key {I don't remember the original having 2 whistle options. Also I believe the engine sounds are a little more "Robust?". CON. Some of the Housing near Basford and Basford North appears to have been added in a bit of a rush, quite a few are at an obscure angle to the terrain and I noticed one block very close to the embankment have their backyards buried. Hopefully these anomallies can be fixed with a patch in the near future. DTG have already fixed a problem with the first scenario, that was not recording any Career points. That was fixed very quickly. Overall, for me, due to the era and interesting playability I will give this route a 9 out of 10.

I bought this with some doubts but really enjoy it. Great way of testing yourself with steam locos- the GOLDEN RULE for driving starting driving steam is at the bottom of this review. The scenarios are taxing but do-able: never assume the signal two ahead is in your favour. They also have wonderful criss-crossing AI. Very good mix of engines (5 if include LNER V2 2-6-2/ 1-C-1 AI), and rolling stock. There are flaws: several unmarked speed changes, for local and mrshalling game needs some more reverse point markers, scenery patchy in a few places. It isn't WLoS but who knows what the community might build using it? Maybe an expansion south or north for a longer run. GOLDEN RULE FOR NEW STEAM DRIVERS:- TURN AUTO FIREMAN OFF. YOU WILL FAIL EVERYTHING WITH IT ON. WHAT SEEMS HARDER IS EASIER. 1./ Use the standard 'three-slot' HUD. It will show 'boiler pressure' in the third position.; 2./ Click on that right hand 'boiler pressure' circle to add more water. Don't let that- or fire mass on the left circle- sink much below or above what it starts on.; 3./ Green is usally good for the rght hand 'boiler pressure' circle. If it goes red but the pressue figures are high and there's a hissing sound, don't panic. You're creating excess steam and it's being released for a few seconds; 4./ Engines really do start with roughly the best coal level for them. It just varies between types. Try to keep it within a few percentage points either way. Less is bad but more is not better. And then add features as you get more confident. Using small ejector (usually j) to release brakes quicker and opening cylinder cosks (c) when stationary then closing them after a few seconds movement is a good start.

A great route, extensive branches and sidings, it has a lot of scenario potential. Steam operations don’t feel out of place at all on this route. I love the elevated sections out of Nottingham Victoria and there is a mix of electric signals and semaphore signals. The route also is nicely suited for locos such as the Class 20. The way the locos are included is that you receive the actual DLC's for them e.g. the 4F pack so basically it is a five-piece Bundle for $20 which is great value, even if the trains are older models. If you want a feel for how the route is, try the UKTS version it. You should definitely get this route as soon as you can.
