Currently unusable with mouse aim. The mouse aim automatically applies braking to steer on the ground. It always tries to keep the aircraft pointed toward the mouse cursor. On most aircraft, this works just fine. However, the system has strange consequences due to the unique design of the Ju 52/Зm controls. The 0-20% throttle range is used for wheel brakes. Therefore, the mouse aim system manipulates the throttles whenever it tries to steer the aircraft by applying the brakes.

The Ju 52 is one of the most interesting looking transport planes ever. Its a 3 engine monoplane with fixed landing gear. I love the 3 engine layout so much 2 on the wings, 1 on the nose. +Using a transport plane to drop paratroops over an area or to drop supplies is definitely a change of pace for the game. +Looks really cool and has some nice camos. Very fun and easy to fly as well. Its a fun plane to use, definitely a lot different then the rest.

On sale? Oh yeah, add this to your collection. Are you gonna get a huge amount of actual use out of this one, in any combat scenario? Nope, you'll be shot down long before you get anywhere. That being said, this is actually a very well modeled aircraft that is loads of fun with friends. A bit of a meme plane, if you will. With friends, youll get loads of use out of it.

It's a 1930s unarmed (though you can put a single low caliber top mounted machine gunner) transport aircraft, you arn't going to out-do anyone in that thing, exept out-crash them maybe. It's painfully slow and extremely useless in most missions, it's only use is the nice decorations it gets, and forcing your enemies to commit warcrimes by using the red crossed camouflages. You buy a Ju-52, you get a Ju-52, but it would be better if it wasn't a 21€ (20.99€) plane for the use it gets.

If you are looking for an aircraft to cruise and relax in, watch your escort perform cool aerobatics outside your cockpit out of boredom and perform non-combat roles in which you will receive no glory or thanks from anyone, then this is the plane for you!

Not much to really say about this aircraft. From a gameplay perspective it doesn't contribute much outside of multiplayer. I have found it to be quite useful on multiplayer servers (specifically one from Finland) in delivering cargo. It is an exceptionally easy aircraft to fly with very little engine management. Ground handling can be tough but other than that, a good aircraft. It would have been nice to see some more detail perhaps considering it costs nearly 36$ AUD. Overall, good plane. Probably wait till sale to buy it.

TL;DR An iconic aircraft, but with a dull implementation, no points/statistics and an unimaginative single-player campaign. You'll just end up bored, flying as a target-drone for others, or having an expensive hanger-queen. Implementation The Ju 52/3m g4e is the classic aircraft of WWII Luftwaffe transport. Within the IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad game, this Ju 52 can be used on any of the maps. The aircraft has a number of unique features, specifically the ability to carry cargo, drop paratroops and supply canisters. It is the only 3-engined aircraft in the game (which doesn't have any 4-engined aircraft either). The cockpit and aircraft models are at the same standard as other aircraft in the game. Visibility is very limited in the aircraft, with the "pilot head box" being quite constrained and making visibility out the windows restricted. There is no open door into the cargo hold. You cannot occupy the co-pilot position to see out the right-hand windows. If you use a rear-gunner, that provides some visibility - although it doesn't help if that is not fitted for your mission. Graphics quality is the same as all other aircraft in the "IL-2 Battle of" series. But there could have been a lot more attention given to the cockpit texturing (especially given the limited view). Effects are limited for the Ju52 which is fine and to be expected, given it is not a combat aircraft. Damage effects when you get hit are way over the top; very Hollywood-esque. There are numerous problems. Some things are incorrect (implementing mixture, not altitude throttle) or only partly implemented (you can overheat the engines, but they will never freeze). There are incorrect chat messages, and a few bugs (such as the stabiliser linking to flaps and problems with the campaign failing). There are some graphics issues too. such as the co-pilot's hands clipping the control column. For turns and complicated manoeuvres, that sort of thing is acceptable, but not for level-flight (which is what you will do 90% of the time in this aeroplane). Tasks and campaigns The payloads it can carry are cargo crates, paratroops and supply canisters. The crates can be unloaded, allowing delivery/supply missions, and the paratroops and canisters can be dropped. But that is all. There are no troop transport, VIP officer transport, medical evacuees, oil drums, SdKfz 2, or any other rich logistics payload set. Other aircraft in the game have many different loadouts for bombs, guns, ammunitions, etc., but the Ju52 is a bit plain, which is a pity, as this is the only gameplay this aircraft has. However, even with the things it does have, the single player campaign only implements cargo delivery (at least on the maps that I have). Not being able to run paratroop or supply-drop missions is very disappointing. As a slow moving transport aircraft, you quickly realise how dull and empty the IL-2 landscapes are. This is less apparent to high-flying fighter aircraft, but the Ju52 tends to operate low down. Campaign load screens are obviously aimed at the fighter-pilots. This is not a big deal, but given that the load screens are just screenshots, they could have made an effort. Primitive engine management The Ju52 flies well, but is far too simple. Frustratingly, your best option is to use the auto-level, as that gives the fastest speed and lowest pilot-load. There is no point trying to trim the aircraft out properly. Ground handling is good and it is moderately easy to manage on the taxiways and on take-off/landing. Engine management is primitive. Just open up the engine cowls and switch in the oil coolers; detailed monitoring is not needed and there is no speed penalty. Even fuel management is not modelled (no transfers possible; you can't even see your right-hand fuel gauge). No point(s) There are no statistics or points for the Ju52. There are no end-of-mission scores for delivering cargo or dropping troops/supplies. The best you can get is a x2.5 bonus for landing safely... but that is applied to 0 points. Which is still 0. Likewise, there is nothing in the official statistics (used by nearly every multiplayer server). You can get the same points in a multiplayer game sitting on the ground for a few seconds in a Bf 109 with your engine switched off, than you can for flying a 1-hour flight enduring Flak and enemy aircraft, to land your precious cargo at the beseiged airfield. Summary The implementation of a transport aircraft in a combat flight game is a very bold move, and the developers should be applauded for that. However, this implementation falls short so that the Ju52 will be of little use. Hopefully, future versions of the game will improve these deficiencies, in which case I would be happy to re-write this review. But, for now, unless you enjoy playing a dumb target and being shot down for no reward - a novelty which wears off quickly - you are better off flying the Ju52 implemented in X-Plane, Prepar3D or FSX.

I appreciate the devs have added some non-combat oriented planes. It's a good way to spice things up, and as with every other plane, this is an expertly crafted, interesting experience. It's painfully slow, can be outmaneuvered by the earth beneath it, and is as well armed as an earthworm -- but sometimes it's fun to be vulnerable. Don't have to be a K4 superstar everyday.

A short and sweet review for potential buyers of the JU52. Is it worth $25? The short answer is, no. Buy this on sale around April or December for 40-50% off. This is definitely a $10 buy at best. Sometimes the website or steam will have other sale periods. I enjoy flying the turtle of airplanes. This plane is painfully slow and only has one top mounted light machine gun for defense. Another downside is that this plane only has a small handful of skins to choose in the customization. However I still greatly enjoy it and it is fun flying with a squadron of JU52s in coordination. However the JU52 rarely has missions built for it in multiplayer. This plane is for transporting cargo or paratroopers to an objective and dropping them off with the bomb release key. That is the only purpose this plane serves outside of pure scenery observation. Now with that said, I greatly enjoy flying it and it is currently the only transport plane in the entire game. I recommend to only buy this on deep deep discount. The $25 price tag is far too high for how little you will actually be able to use this plane outside of quick flights in single player. I bought this for $12.50 on sale from the spring half off sale of April 2019.
