This model is good if you want a classic 747 which isnt too demanding but also not too default aircraft feeling. However given the lack of livery it seems, dont buy it on full price. Also, be aware of the NAV/GPS switch bugging out if you decided to save the flight and reloading it. Also, please be sure to read the manuals first. It isnt included for nothing. Dont be a smartass who then complain about the model doesnt work while they didnt read the manual.

Before i start my review i would like to note that i have never flown a aircraft outside of the simulator so i cannont accuretly say if the aircraft is realistic or not.
After flying both the 742 and the 743 i have come to the conclusion of a few things. Number one being that the aircraft does actually work unlike what some reviews have stated. Number two is this isn't your defualt 747 these aircraft are big, heavy and sluggish just as you would expect a actual 747 to be. Number three is that the cockpit is very intimidating there are lots of switches and dials and the autopilot is not the easiest to handle. Given these facts after flying the 742 and 743 i think most of the bad rep given to this addon is due to pilot error. Such as some say it's impossible to takeoff however if you trim it correctly make sure you set your fuel and payload before starting the flight and turned on To/ga you should have no problem getting off the ground. I would like to add though the wings aren't that great in terms of creating lift which from what i can gather is realistic as these 2 aircraft are known for their long takeoff rolls.
Let's get into some of the features firstly there are over 30 aircraft in this addon and the reason for that is actually really cool. You get both the 200 and 300 but both models get different payload layouts such as half passanger half cargo full cargo etc however the really interesting thing is you get different engine variatons eatch of which have different characteristics. Secondly you do get a FMC however from what i can gather as i am horrible with the FMC is you can only load Fs flightplans, take that with a grain of salt but if you're looking to learn the FMC i would reccomend the Embraer 175-195 addon which is also on steam. Thirdly this review is getting quite long so i'll just say all of the listed features on the offical steam page are actually there you get the wingflex, copilot sounds you even get the option to dump fuel.
I'm going to wrap this up with glitches i encountered and what i think this addon should have included. First the glitches, i didn't encounter a lot of them the main one was a rendering glitch with the airframe and cockpit however this is due to the fact that i run a lot of addons and freewear so my computer was having trouble handling the details of the 742 and 743 however this problem can be solved by turned down your graphics or temporarly moving some addon planes out of your airplanes folder and putting it in a temp folder. Now finally what i think should be improved. This addon doesn't come with a lot of options for liveries, you only get 2 for the 742 which is a KLM livery and a Airfrance cargo Livery and everything else is is a fictional CLS airline livery. I find this to be a problem as the non-steam version gets everything included plus a ton of liveries however i would still buy this off of steam for the time being as Fspilotshop which is where i was looking hadn't labeled the aircraft compatable for FsxSE but if they do in the future i would reccomend getting it from there.
This has been my very long review of the 747 200 and 300 hope it was helpful.

I have flown "virtually" around the globe with various jets and undertaken numerous ILS landings. However, as much as I try, I am unable to get this version to establish itself on the glideslope during approach and either misses, veers away or flies over the intended airport.
this not a simple matter of ILS / VOR frequencies, or approach settings which I have varied ( trying different settings ) on numerous occasions. I have not experienced this with any other plane and will persist in finding a resolution... perhaps writing to the developers may help.
Unfortunately ( like other reviews ) until this is resolved I cannot recommend this otherwise very nice aircraft, however I will update my review should a resolution be found.

This is a fantastic aircraft to fly! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!
P.S.
The plane does takeoff, you just need to select the trim to the green area.

This is pricy, but personally I would buy it on a sale, it comes with alot of planes so I reccomend it, the planes are detailed and have alot of engine varities varying from rolls royce, pratt and whitney, and general electric.

Another beautiful plane from CLS. I have their Airbus collection from Just Flight which are excellent too.
I had trouble getting the plane airborne, then I read the manual :)
run through for dummies :)
set the stab trim ( to the left of the throttles) between 5 and 7 degrees
set VS to +2000
set EPR to 1.9
line up on runway
switch on autothrottle
15 degrees climb on V2, which is called out to you by the same nice guy who tells you which engines you are starting:)
landing- read the manual- it works a treat
9/10 . the lost mark is for the lack of liveries, which are there but you need a degree in SDK to use them

This is a very poorly designed simulation of the classic Boeing 747. I was hoping that the aircraft would fall inline similar to the likes of the Ready for Pushback 747, which was designed for FS2004 and came pretty close to modeling every reasonable and realistic aspect of the aircraft. But this CLS product does not come close. The APU is poorly modeled, the FMS is cheap and provides limited calculation and no support for SIDs/STARs, and there are too many sections of the overhead panel that are displayed as "eye-candy" and have zero functional use.
tl;dr: For $25, this aircraft is not worth the price. I would not recommend this add-on to someone looking for a realistic simulation of the classic Boeing 747.

I could never make this DLC work. The fuselage never rendered, you can see the wings and engines and thats it! Inquries to the vendor were returned "We're too busy to help you". All other DLC planes work perfectly, just not this one. Frustrating.

Impossible to do an ILS approach. Random behavior of the autopilot for climb and speed.
Asked a refund but Steam told me it was not possible because I played more than 2 hours.
Steam Team: it s not possible to do a complete flight in less than 2 hours!
