Communist version of Fallout. Unfortunatelly, it's a terrible knock-off. If you want a good game similar to Fallout, I recommend Encased.

It is kind of convoluted at the beginning (in terms of gaining power and "momentum" but generally if you're a fan of FO1 and FO2 then you can be assured that you will have your itch pleased, although it is heavely russian infulenced so it might push away some people but I say you should give it a try, also sorry but the game has A LOT OF SPEECH CHECKS, like it is so huge that you should never skip on charisma and talking like I did with my 1st playthrough, I still managed to get out of the newbie stage but it would be immensely helpful to know that. Also you can really see the 3d models of most npcs are asset store tier, not to be too rough since it's their first project and they dont have so much money to hire and make their own models but still. 8/10

It feels like a better looking Fallout 1/2 clone. Combat is brutal and unforgiving, even with strong stats. You cannot get far playing a murder hobo in this game and will die a lot. The storyline feels a little more diffuse and amateur than the Fallout games. However I have to give the developer big ups for the early 2000's vibe they are able to preserve. None of the characters, events, elements or dialogue sound like they were sterilized by a modern DEI focus group, which is so refreshing. Very excited to see what AtomTeam comes up with next.

Exactly what you would expect so far, and in this case, that's pretty darn good. Solid writing, classic Fallout-style action.

Tries to be fallout in all the worst ways. Imagine fallout's jokes but it plays too much into them. Way to harsh for combat and game mechanics like hunger should of just been not in the game imo. You're not given a gun or literally anything early on, some npcs try to make you work to the goal of helping them so it doesnt seem worth helping someone who treats you like garbage upon meeting them. Sometimes I could not find enemies since the random encounter battle did not start automatically.

I really did try to get into this game but i simply cant. It starts out way too slow and in not a good way, it also is very grindy which also adds to the unenjoyment of it aswell. If you want to play a better game of this sort of thing Id say pick up Wasteland 3 instead as its pretty much way better in almost every single department

very captivating old school rpg. If on sale I'd highly recommend that you give it a try

It's like the first Fallout game in a Soviet setting. Once you get used to it, the game isn't that bad and offers a lot of options. The developers are doing their best to squeeze even more out of the game, which is great!

tl;dr below there's a good game hiding in here somewhere but the writing especially needs serious work. it drags the entire game down with it. the graphics are good, the interfaces are... serviceable (the font choice and CRT effects in the main conversation screen feel particularly like they need some love and care), the engine feels stable and ok to use though it needs to run while you're alt-tabbed from fullscreen, the gear and equipment your character needs to use is straightforward. i like the soundtrack and general sound design a lot tbh. it's understated but effective. now for the bad stuff. the writing is shabby, immature, and stops short of defining the world and how people live in it. the game often assumes you're playing as a man and the writing also reflects this sort of unserious, superficial misogyny, like, the author doesn't actually hate women but likes to put stuff in his game that makes it feel like he does. multiple occasions of the word "retard" in dialog really sour my mood on the game's writing as well. it is like picking pebbles out of your dinner. people that talk like that in real life haven't decided to grow up yet and it's annoying. i never played fallout 2. is fallout 2 like this?? i loved the first fallout. i loved new vegas. those were not like this. is trudograd like this?? feels like half of the writing by volume is references, meta humor, or some other stuff that makes it feel like the author wasn't super invested in the writing as a whole. it's pretty disheartening because i like pretty much everything about this game except the writing, though the writing is what you're interfacing with 90% of the time so it does put a damper on things. the portrait art is using AI? what's up with that?? i saw a guy with 3 fingers on his hand in otradnoye. enough said on that topic i feel combat is fine though i wish i could speed it up sometimes, maybe by holding a button or something maybe it's just my full speechcraft build (seriously doubt it since fidel, hexogen, dzhulbars and alexander all don't have speechcraft builds) but the progression through the game feels GLACIALLY slow. no one ever drops weapon/armor upgrades and the xp rewards are tough. i'm in the dead city rn and really desperate to try to find reasons to keep playing this game 60 hours in. i remember how long it took me to beat fallout 1 and it was about half this time. it's fine when a game is long but the game needs to be firing on all cylinders to pull that off lol the whole game feels pretty tenuous. why does the world look like it does? "the bombs fell in 1986. that cold war went hot" seems to be the thickest explanation you ever get for this. and like man, i get it, i guess. this ties into the game just being a slave to its inspirations, which it seems more than happy to be. but if you look at pictures of hiroshima in 1955, a city that *was nuclear bombed*, even ten years after the bombing you can see that the restoration process went strongly. i dunno. a lot of the tropes for nuclear annihilation post-apocalypse that the fallout series pioneered should be built upon and improved, not just regurgitated undigested from the day it was conceived. a major problem is that there just aren't many games in this sort of format, and granted the format itself does feel a bit more evolved than fallout's-- credit where credit is due-- but if you're looking for post-apocalyptic RPG adventures sort of content and this is the best you can get? you're fucked lmao. tl;dr if you don't mind that the writing is churlish and threadbare, and you just want More Fallout, you'll probably get something out of this. if you're looking for something with depth of gameplay, or with an artful narrative crafted with poise and pacing, look elsewhere.
