Train Simulator: BR Standard Class 6 ‘Clan Class’ Steam Loco Add-On DLC

Very good locomotive pack, good modeling as always from JT. And a definate learning curve from other steam locomotives I have. The scenarios are great and challenging. And the Hengist is great! The only thing I thought Jt could have done which would have been cool, was to include ALL the clans, the ones that were built, and ALL the ones that were planned for a kind of "Alternate reality" where they all were built. With 2 versions of the locomotives - Classic (W/O Weathering) or Preserved which would be like the Hengist will be. That would have been cool to see and I hope that they can add them in in an update or something.

This model by Just Trains can be very interesting to drive why?, Because sometimes it can be really good and sometimes it can be really poor, But lag on it very poor. However, The it's a good performer at speed once you get it going.

On sale, sure. Full price? No. It is a dated pack that most certainly shows its age in the texturing. Newer stuff from most of the other big names in british steam do far better today. That being said, it is not terrible and certainly a step above the old Black 5 and such from Kuju. Get it on sale.

A very good, well detailed locomotive, fairly easy to operate in standard mode, but you've still got to have a lot of experience and practice in order to get it to reach it's full potential. Be sure to read the manual, as that has a lot of hints and tips for how to drive this behemoth of a locomotive. Would highly recommend this and other locomotives produced by Just Trains :)

Very good DLC. The locomotive is beautiful, it has got many details, sounds great and its a pleasure to drive it. Pretty simple to drive so you you rather won't have problems with it. I recommend it a lot.

I love the clans irl, so them in ts is great! But the old clan was kinda crappy, but this came out and resurrected the clans. All of just train's br standards are great, but i have a problem with the 2 i own, the clan and brittania, how do you fire these? even with the automatic fireman they won't fire. If someone knows how to, please tell me. But overall I like the clans more then the brittania's.

I'm having trouble with trying to keep the steam pressure at a acceptable level, for example in the school special scenario i reversed out of the shed and drive forward to the station, but a little bit before i leave my i keep losing steam i tried everything with the brake injectors and the steam pressure is still doping, is there something I'm missing or am i doing something wrong please let me know, thanks.

Everything is good about this dlc, but how do you turn on/off the auto-fireman?

Unless you're familiar with Just Trains work it is EXTREMELY recommended to read the manual first as this will save a lot of headaches and premature tantrums. This Clan Class is a significant improvement over the earlier one brought out by DTG and once you're used to the controls it will perform beautifully with few nasty surprises. You get 10 members of the class in clean and weathered appearences along with a 11th bonus loco that is being built to modern standards. You get coaches in two liveries and three decent scenarios. The view outside isn't too bad but the AWS will be heard outside the loco preventing an accidental E-brake application. Handling is nice and fairly trouble free. Wheelslip can still occur but not to the same frequency and frustration as the other add-on. Sounds are much better though it can get a little distorted sometimes. Unlike most pick up and go loco's this one can be used in both warm and hot modes letting the driver become more involved in it's operation which is really nice. For players the may already own Just Trains 7MT Britannia will feel right at home here as the 6MT is pretty much a scaled down version so the manual and controls are very similar otherwise newer players may face difficulty Great add-on that was VERY badly needed.

This is a fantastic engine to drive once you figure out how to steam her. Just did a run last night on the West Coast Mainline over Shap with eight coaches and averaged 70 mph most of the way, cresting Shap at 48 mph. Be sure to read the manual, it's found in your Train Simulator installation and will explain how the brakes, reverser, injectors, and other tid bits of how the locomotives operate. The F4 HUD will not work with these locomotives! Also the F5 HUD incorrectly says that the Clans start with the damper and blower on, they do not. I initially had the same problems as Mr. Andrew did, minus the overpressuring, until I realized the damper wasn't open. Firing should be just like in real life, a 3-5 shovel fulls at a time, every few minutes or as often as nessecary to keep the fire mass in the ballpark of 650 lbs. Building the fire up to 700-750lbs will give you maximum heat when you're working the engine hard. Not mentioned in the description is that the Pack comes with JustTrain's collection of AI locomotives. Included are the A4s, V2s, 5MTs, and 4MTs. Hopefully a few of those models make it to Steam in their drivable form in the near future.
