Only takes around 5 hours or less of playtime depending on how fast you play.
I enjoyed this more than the main Half Life game.
Disclaimer: this, and the other HL1 expansions do not have subtitles and aren't as optimized. You will encounter the occasional frame hang and stutter, but it's not terrible.

game is very punishing even on normal, very high health enemies and a very short supply of health. encountered many game breaking bugs that forced me to reload older saves. other than that, its a very fun time.

I think I actually enjoyed Opposing Force more than the base game - maybe because I played it on medium difficulty instead of hard this time.
It maintains the excellent level design of Half-Life without feeling like a retread, and it makes real improvements to both combat and traversal. I found myself regularly using a wider variety of weapons, which speaks to how well-balanced and thoughtfully designed they are.
That said, enemy design still has some issues. I’m not a fan of hitscan in a game where high movement speed feels like it should be a valid form of defence. It often feels like I’m being punished for trying to play fast and aggressive.
Technically, it’s a bit rougher than the original. I encountered more bugs - occasional crashes when quicksaving, and frequent clipping issues, especially when using elevators. Fortunately, it’s a Valve game, so console commands like noclip are always there to bail you out, but I had to rely on them more than I would’ve liked.
On a high note, the final boss is a major improvement over the original game’s ending. It’s a satisfying conclusion to a really solid campaign.
9/10. And probably one of the best expansions of all time.

Old game, good experience. 20+ years ago I used to play the original Half-Life, but not this one. Almost no glitches.

Surprisingly long and pretty good game. Maybe we'll see him again in HL3 trying to stop Gordon for G-Man but who knows since this game could just be not canon.

Whilst a lot shorter than Half-Life, it still pulls off all the fun of the game's combat and story whilst scratching that itch for good old-fashioned alien annihilation.

LOVE IT, just like Half-Life but way more weapons and mechanics, worth playing if you like Half-Life
Also story is good
