I like this game! It's pretty short, but compared to Half-Life 1, it's miles better, mostly because the puzzles are more understandable. The game itself isn't hard, but if you choose the hard difficulty, you'll always have a finger on the quicksave button. The enemies aren’t very forgiving, so to speak...

I'll try to spare what is already said about this. but Opposing Force shows more of Black Mesa (👍), shows more of the HECU (👍), gives you more weapons (👍), introduces more soldier variants (👍), however despite these good parts there is bad, difficult enemy spam (👎), deafening portions (👎), TOO SHORT (👎), pushing and pulling items glitch not fixed (not game breaking but mildly annoying 👎) overall, 5/10 for just the things i mentioned but when you figure in the good stuff i didnt mention and the bad stuff i didnt mention it becomes a 9.5/10

Awesome game! A look at the same story from the eyes of a different character. It has a some new weapons and game mechanics that weren't present in original Half-Life. A mustplay, if you love Half-Life!

Besides the OG Half life, this might be one of the best expansions for the for the goldsrc Half life games, the new weapon's are fun to use, The new alien faction are, i'll be honest kinda annoying, but can be fun to play, the new parts of Black Mesa we get to see are also a nice add-on and add more to the world, and yea, its a good game, what more can i say?

A side story which takes place at the same time as Half Life, but from a different perspective. Same style of gameplay as Half Life but with new kinds of weapons and enemy types.

You are playing as Adrian Shephard, a US marine deployed to Black Mesa during the incindent. A really neat campaign. Also I really like the military inspired music.

Well then, Ossing Force has its plot interesting, Vision, Motivation of Adrian is great and well elaborated! What has a significant novelty is only "weapons" The gameplay itself is the same, graphically speaking is the same ... is like an expansion DLC But it's fun and it's great DLC of Half-Life 1 Not to mention online that is fun when there is someone online to play I recommend the Opposition Force

This game is a mixed bag for me and that's why I'm not recommending it. I enjoyed the game about 50% of the time and didn't enjoy it the other 50%. Basically, this game pisses me too often to recommend it. Kinda like Half Life 1. There are parts where I'm having fun, but it often only takes a few minutes for me to be annoyed by the next thing to face. It's constantly like that for the whole game. The main issue for me really is that most of the strong enemies are just not fun to fight. Their AI is not particularly good and they're just annoying to deal with. If I compare the enemies' AI to the enemies' AI in Halo 1 for example, Halo has amazing AI and it's fun to play against it. That's the main reason why the Halo campaigns are so replayable. That's also why playing through Opposition Force and Half-Life 1 is kinda painful for me. Also, often, the weapons that are strong and or very powerful have limited amounts of ammo, so you have to use cheap tricks like saving/loading multiple times or making an enemy place itself at the edge of a wall so it stays there and tries to shoot towards you, but fails to because their projectiles just hit the wall and can't reach you. Once again, if I compare what I just described to Halo 1... In Halo, generally, that is not something that will happen. For one, there is a checkpoint system that works pretty well and you'll usually have the tools you need to deal with enemies. But the main thing really is that Halo 1 is fun to play while Half-Life Opposing Force is annoying about 50% of the time. More thoughts : Why is the game designed in a way where we have to crouch jump (and so often)? A lot of unavoidable damage when doing the platforming parts. Same thing for ladders. First 90 minutes not great. I often have to check a walkthrough because I either don't know what to do or how to solve a specific puzzle. Game is not getting that much better after? More unavoidable damage (this time from using the movable platform). Overall, I didn't like the first half that much, but I enjoyed the 2nd half more. My playthrough is often interrupted when I have to check a walkthrough because IDK what I'm supposed to do next. *** I think I spent 1 just on hour saving and loading, which is about 15-20% of my playtime...

Pretty good. Starts to become a pain in the back during its last third, beginning with chapter "Foxtrot Uniform." The spamming of the pit drone and the shock trooper can fuck right the fuck off.

Half-Life: Opposing Force is the third game in the series and could be considered a full blown sequel to it or simply an add-on. Opposing Force was a short and sweet game just like its counterpart Blue Shift and was a new character as well to play as. On this game you were playing as the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit soldiers who were sent to scrub the facility clean and cover up everything. It was quite cool playing as this faction and getting to see the perspective from there eyes. Similarly to the other games you aim was to escape as well and help take as many men as you could. There was an introduction of some new weapons and new puzzles to tackle plus boss fights. The one thing i didn't like about Opposing Force was that the character wasn't given a proper story or ending to it. He only appeared in this game alone and so far there has been no new content with him at all. His character hasn't been worked on anymore neither has he been given a sequel to play through which is a shame. I would recommend playing through the game and seeing the perspective of another character who's on the enemies side. Its interesting to see his transition from enemy to survivor and watch as he tries to redeem himself.
