One of best locos in the TS An icon for DB passenger service Sound:Windblowers,Tractionmotors, horn, not the rubbish recycle sound, but the exactly the replica of the real 101,like the videos on youtube. Performance:Extremely Good! Supercar like acceleration depressive speed even with 16 Mk3a SLEP or 14 Avmz coach, just using 150kN half of the full power. Outlooking: Simple but catchy, especially the sloped face and the skirt panel, ensure aerodynamic

Another excellent addon by Virtual Railroads, however if you want a cab car, purchase the addon from the developer's website. My one quibble with this addon is that the LZB and AFB seem to max out at 160km/h even if running in 200 or 280 km/h sections of track (EDIT) Promptly fixed

I think this is the best electric loco model released so far. Highly recommended for high realism. Brakes can be setup to simulate long train and they will have certain lag which is very nice. PZB, LZB, cruise control and everything else works as intended. The model is really beatiful. If you drive a lot in Germany and around this is a must have add-on.

This "Pro Range" locomotive no longer has all of the "Pro Range" features working in Train Simulator Classic that are listed in the description of this product. For instance, you can't drive this locomotive using the throttle (regulator) in the cab...you have to use the A and D keys. When you hover over the throttle lever in the cab you will not see a "hand" icon appear allowing you to engage it. The same goes for the AFB lever. You cannot engage it in the cab, and if you follow the directions in the manual precisely, you cannot engage the AFB with the "Shift-A" key combination. The AFB simply does not work in Train Simulator Classic. And in the manual you will see two panels that allow you to turn the AFB on and off, or activate the instrument light dimmer and the wiper intervals. Those panels do not appear anywhere in the cab. I spent an hour meticulously exploring the cab, and they simply aren't there. And it's too bad, as the locomotive exterior and interior model is well done, and it looks great. But this product should no longer be considered a "Pro Range" product, as it only has the features of a standard range product.

A superbly detailed loco. It is joy to ride it. Great physics, sounds and braking simulation. In comparison with the version which you can buy at Virtual Railroads official website (DB BR101 InterCity ExpertLine), there are some differences: cons: -completely missing Bpmbdzf Driving trailer -not functional destination display (it's not mentioned here in features but it's in the manual) -it's installed in a different folder than the VR version - you can't apply any repaints from sites such as rail-sim.de and it is the same with scenarios from these pages - they use the VR version, not this one pros: -includes 3 great scenarios with functional EBula -includes Apmz and Bpmz IC coaches with passenger view (same as VR version) -you can download workshop scenarios and repaints -this version is much cheaper -the mentioned problem with the installation in a different folder can be easily solved by downloading LocoSwap tool - then you can replace the vr version with this one without man doing anything in game So if you are a complete train simulator fanatic, I would recomend you to buy the VR version. And if you are just usual TS player, you can buy this version with no worries. You won't notice any of these cons while driving this loco. This and the VR are surely the best versions of 101 ever made. And the last fact is that it unfortunately doesn't replace the terrible old versions of 101.

This is a highly recommended extension for TS2017. It will not replace the model of the BR101 which comes with other routes, that is not possible within the framework of TrainSimulator, but it is a very well done lok. I always shunned scenarios with the original BR101 included with TS2017 - but I very much enjoy driving with this version. The model is very good with a lot of advanced functionality and, for those who wish to drive with it, it has a properly working implementation of the PZB and LZB train safety systems. The PZB also has a help-function that can tell you what you did wrong to cause a PZB braking, if you turn this on (see the manual). One of the things I like a lot about this lok is the so-called "EbULa", a computer display that shows the features of the route ahead such as upcoming speed limits and stations. It's like the route-ahead display of the TS HUD - only it's "real" and you have to keep track by yourself of where you are (by checking the hectometer - poles along the route, matching them with the display, and paging through the pages of the route-plan). It works like the real thing (only simplified) - and that's really nice. What makes this package really nice in comparison to the package you can buy from the website of the producer, virtualRailroads, are the included scenarios which are really very well done with a lot of realistic AI traffic happening all around you all the time. The only two minuses of this package compared to the version available from the vR website, is that 1. the driving trailer is for some reason not included in this package, and 2. the scenarios which you can download from various German train-sim sites (such as rail-sim.de) will use the "original" version instead of the Steam version. With the quality of the included scenarios, and the fact that this version is usable for Workshop scenarios, that's only a minor issue for me however.

One of the best German loco add-on's I've used and easily in my top two the Pro DB BR 101 outclasses the older 101 models by far. Better physics, sounds, basic but usable Ebula, working Sifa, PZB, LZB and AFB systems plus R-P-G brake types. Three liveries are included with two being red and one blue, two coach types but the Steam version does not include the driving trailer being the only downside. Three scenarios are included but don't make full use of the loco's capabilities but they work without issues which is a plus. While being a Pro add-on it can be used with or without systems on with ease so it's not a difficult one to operate It's still a good idea to read the manual as this covers basic handling and how to implement it in scenarios. There is software for the Ebula system on the vR website but it's also in German: https://virtual-railroads.de/gb/content/11-patches-tools This is one of the very few add-on's I'd recommend at full price as it's pretty much trouble free. A big thank you to 🐝 for pointing this one out and the very convincing sales pitch 😊

The best DLC on steam for train simulator made so far, complex enough to be a pleasure to drive, especially with PZB enabled and the HUD turned off. This is the yardstick to which all DLC should be measured Pros: Physics that will make you moist, (if you like rocket trains you will hate this) the 101 feels like you are at the controls Close to perfect in cab sounds, including authentic sounding, warnings, and responses. this really adds to immersion Comprehensive controls that are easy to pick up, really makes you feel like you are driving the train. The only DLC with near perfect braking curves when using LZB Cons: Limited selection of TAV enabled coaching stock bundled, a Sturwagen would have been nice ... adding non TAV enabled coaches prevents TAV from working. The bundled scenarios are for a route that does not take advantage of the capabilities of this DLC, for example no neutral sections and no LZB. to get the best from this DLC you will need to make your own scenarios.

A highly recommended model of the DB BR 101. Definitely more of a physical simulated loc compared to the old Kuju models. It has all the complexity you may want, but perhaps not for the novice TS player. Looks and sounds are also great. There are apart from the standard traffic red livery two other special liveries: Natur and Stadtwerke. The EBuLa specific for the Koeln-Koblenz route is a nice touch. Note: you can find on the Virtual Railroads (the developer) a tool to install (not create!) other screens for other routes. Unfortunately only in German. The three scenarios are nice, but not amazing good. On my PC the Koeln-Koblenz route is already stressing things performance wise; with this loco sometimes things became a stutter fest. Keep in mind that buying this DLC does not automatically update/upgrade the Kuju models, nor does it update the BR 101 models that are part of other routes such as Hamburg-Hanover. This model is technical the same BR 101 / Bpmbdzf IC EL as sold by Virtual Railroads, but packed as a separate asset. You have to make the trade-of as the Virtual Railroads pack comes with a steering wagon and this DLC does not. The DLC gives you three scenarios and you can get potentially Workshop scenarios while the Virtual Railroads one does not have any scenarios included. There are scenarios available thanks to the German rail community, but those usually require a lot of additional add-ons and are (obviously) written in German. [Edit]: Hopefully better English.
