Others have highlighted plenty of the poor aspects of this. Exterior is OK, interior not so good and has a dire lack of functionality - especially in the light of what can be done these days.
Particlualrly disappointing are the physics which are totally unrealisitc, and the sound which is abysmal. Clearly none of the developers have ever heard a class 150 (I'm sure Youtube can help if there are none locally). It is often said that physics and sounds are the most important aspects of a simulator and this is yet another example of where DTG have ignored that.
I stopped driving the 150 after one station and will wait until someone gives it a makeover or AP add it to their 15x series soundpack. Thoroughly disappointing.

I found the BR Class 150/1 DMU to be enjoyable to drive. Quite easy really. It accelerates and brakes smoothly and quickly. The graphical detail is satisfactory. While some reviewers have knocked the sounds, I found no issues with them. I'm not familiar with the trains in real life, so can't say if the sound is realistic, but the sound quality is good. The throttle seemed to act a bit strangely, but it was not hard to get used to. The scenarios were interesting and varied as far as weather, time of day and difficulty.
+ Looks good
+Sounds good
+All scenarios work perfectly
+All achievements work properly
- Actually... Nothing. While not my favorite locomotive, I found no issues or problems at all.

Just purchased the BR Class 150/1 DMU during the late May 2020 MidWeek Madness Sale very due to the terrible reviews. But with STEAM I knew I could return it for the sale tiny price I paid.
Just did some testing because of those reviews.
Accelerates too fast – Did a trail run heading East out of Oxford Station on the Great Western Main Line which has a gradiant of 0:0 with Throttle at Notch 7. 10mph -11sec 20mph – 23sec 30mph – 37sec 40mph – 57sec 50mph – 73sec 60mph – 105sec 70mph – 161sec. You decide if that is too fast, I have no real world data.
Speed Gauge incorrect. I tested from 0 to 20 mph and Speed Gauge and HUD were within 0.3 mph, close enough for me.
Brake Cylinder Gauge incorrect. I have no idea lacking expert experince or data. I doubt 5% of TS2020 players would have a clue.
Light Switches don’t work independently. No idea what this means. The white front lights can be set to left or right light on. A pair of red lights can be set for the trailing car. Seems adequate to me.
Cab window doesn’t open. Correct, DTG rarely has opening cab windows and if you want them you have to purchase an Enhancement Pack from Armstrong Powerhouse, if available.
No Two Tone Horn. Correct. However oddly the DTG Manual says pressing B will give you a second horn tone. Didn’t work for me and the basic horn sound is faint and weak.
As claimed in the ad copy, the Wiper does work and rain sticks to the wind shield, which I like.
Has sounds that seem reasonable to me, though I’ve never ridden on one.
Only two Liveveries, which is inadequate.
Overall seems a typical basic DTG product, acceptable if not stellar. The AP Enhancement Pack would ofc improve it a lot. Doesn’t seem to merit the very negitive reviews as of 2020 so I suspect it has been updated a bit by DTG to a better than initial issue version. Wanted it to match up with what was actually run on some Routes and it is acceptable for that. When AP has a sale I’ll probably upgrade it.

An add-on that started off rather badly with fairly shocking physic's which took some time to fix which by then the damage was done and highly likely owners will not change their reviews.
I purchased this after the fixes were made and found the Class 150 nice to drive and the price surprising at $11 despite the usual $20 for a add-on and found it reasonable. There's working switches in the cab and two liveries included such as First Great Western and London Overground.
There is enhancement pack for the Class 150 from Armstrong Powerhouse.

A very nice looking train but..........
This trains does avoids the law of physics in any way as well the sounds isn't that accurate. Ever since this is a Dovetail model that I'm really disappointed of how this DMU is. Here's a list of the pros and cons:
PROS:
+Looks great and detailed
CONS:
-Sounds taken from the 158 and 166
-Accelerates fast
-Brakes quickly than the real thing
-Speedo doesn't match with the speed in the HUD
-The second tone horn is missing
Overall 3/10, don't buy this unless you don't mind driving this DMU or just using it for AI. I would advise you to get the 150/2 from Thompson/Oovee instead.

I can't be bothered to write a review, so let me just say this:
it's worse than the DTG GWR HST
Now that's saying something.

Wow... Just wow...
Dovetail Games have taken their lack of detail and attention to the next level with the Class 150/1...
As per usual with DTG releases I can comment on an absolutely fabulous model. The attention to detail is brilliant, along with the passenger view which again is 10/10.
Now the driving however... It uses the Class 158 sounds from when the 158 was released well over 3 years ago (which even then weren't right!!!) The physics don't seem to ever have existed which is a real shame because I was almost looking forward to this release (I work enough of them with Northern Rail and can tell you this is nothing like a 150!)
Real shame! Like others have said it's a rushed release which like almost every DTG release will be absolutely terrible until Armstrong Powerhouse release an enhancement pack to bring it up to the standard it should already be at...

Well since my break between September last year for 4 months. I thought I would treat myself to some new add-on's and this is one of them. Looking at the screenshots, the model captures the look of the prototype Class 150/1 but sadly for me. This pack is a let down and I will point out the negatives below as well as the positives about the pack which isn't much at the time of writing.
First impressions:
The 3D model looks great and the exterior does capture the shape and the look of the real Class 150/1 DMU/Railcar as I remember riding them in around 2008.
Driving Physics:
Come on DTG, seriously with all the data and the information you have access to for various trains. How could you get this wrong? This is a DMU (or a Railcar), NOT a TGV or a Maglev! The accelleration is WAY TOO FAST and the train just lurches forward if you take the power higher than step 4. This needs to be fixed as it is VERY unrealistic and there is no excuse for bad physics like this if the developers bother to do their research thoroughly.
Sounds:
Don't make me laugh! Seriously this is another negative about a potentially good pack. Considering the older Class 150/2 pack has Sprinter train sounds. You choose to use Class 158 sounds that are completely wrong for this type of DMU/Railcar. You could have partnered up with Armstrong Powerhouse for proper sounds for this unit. So again, no proper planning has gone into using suitable sounds and this is a payware product. Oh and what is up with the single tone horn DTG? The real life Class 150/1 units have a two tone horn O_o.
Other Notes:
There is no opening cab window which is a shame as most other DLC and add-ons I have do have opening cab windows as its nice to have the window down when cruising along some scenic routes. The passenger view is so-so, its not high quality as I would have liked but I can live with it as its not a view point that i really use.
Overview:
Pros:
- Excellent 3D model that looks well captured externally
- Fills a gap in the needed rolling stock for UK trains
- Great AI traffic model for most south west routes in the UK.
Cons:
- Unrealistic physics
- Terrible sounds
- No opening cab windows
- No two tone horn
- Poorly planned product that has potential if the bugs are fixed
Overall this pack has potential if DTG can fix the issues that many other negative reviews and other users have highlighted as there is great potential to make this an excellent product if the bugs are fixed. But until then, I would recommend using the separately available Armstrong Powerhouse sounds to replace the incorrect Class 158 sounds. Otherwise I would only recommend it for AI traffic.
Overall Rating: 5/10

I would like to mention one quote from the description of the 150/1 ''Highly Detailed'' this is far from the truth although yes the exterior modelling is satisfactory the screenshots on the sales page do not show a number of issues.
The first is as always with DTG is the sound which this time have been lifted from the Class 158 which means the sound you get from a 150/1 is not replicated in anyway shape or form I could only get one of the two tone horns working on a number or routes and after rebooting the game still no joy. If you want a 150/1 that sounds like a very poorly recorded 158 this is for you but there is more.
Next we move on to the Physics which are ridiculous at best, anyone who has ever travelled on a 150/1 will know that these are slow lumbering units that do not go from 0-75mph faster than a voyager...sadly DTG have right royally screwed the Physics therefore when you hit not 4 your in 30mph before you know it in and reach 75mph in a round a minute far from the true 150/1 experience.
Finally and I can't believe this got passed testing before release (although this was probably perform by the developers themselves with there head up there bottom thinking they've done a great job) The Brake and Speed Guages are amazingly off. 150s use a 3 Step Brake which maxes out at 3 bar in step 3 braking not as the simulation shows or around 10 bar I think this is also linked to the insane braking rate of the units, you couldnt slow it down slower if you tried the brakes aren't accurate nore the brake guage. The in cab speedo is completely desynced from that of the GUI speed and when clicking into the GUI for route information you often find your speeding despite the in cab speedo saying otherwise.
In conclusion I would not recommend buying this DLC unless DTG make huge improvements to Sound, Modelling, Physics and bug fixes then it isn't worth £7.99 a more efficent use for £7.99 would be to invest in 3rd party DLC such as the 150/2 which even without AP sound is rather good (mainly because it was made by Thomson Interactive and not the apes at DTG). It feels like dovetail have no care for the quality of DLC output anymore they are too busy farting around trying to empty our pockets with awful DLC ideas. Last Dovetail Game I am buying without waiting to check reviews first.

What have I just spent my money on? A quickly published add-on just to make money. It accelerates too quick, the speed gauge is well out, the brake cylinder dial on all the brake steps is totally wrong and the switches for the lights don't work individually. I'm on these units nearly everyday and this product is way off. Really disappointing as I was eagerly waiting for it.
