Uhhhhhh Who Dis? Definitely NOT Yeonho
Well this was quite the ride. I am going to give thumbs up for this Drama CD because of the dedication of the voice actor. But, I honestly do not know what to say. I know that Yeonho was portrayed as a sort of a shota character in the VN, and he was literally one of my favorites. He had that personality where he acts so cute, innocent, caring but even tho it is not straightforward he is actually pretty intelligent and realistic. It's like an intrinsic trait he has but not quite often displayed or shown by him. But in this DLC you see that he has a total contrasting personality to that of the VN which is with my experience of reading otome visual novels, it is kinda absurd. What's included in the package - TRUTH 6 tracks including 4 scenes, 1 hidden talk and 1 free talk Booklet is basically two images with the voice actors signature in one and a small description of the Drama CD and etc. Translations are given but in IMAGES format, not like what you see in the example video in the steam store page. (it is usually recommended to have that video format when listening to drama CD's especially if you pay for it. but it is not included and it is sort of false advertising in the store page) Story The story plays out as that you are a co-worker of his office and he is somehow your boyfriend and you turn out to be sick. You yourself is a hardworker at the office and has some sort of a superior quality in that department which Yeonho feels very inferior about. This inferiority complex is displayed throughout the tracks and was personally kind of a downer for me. Because he does not need to classify himself as a man so much and does not need to emphasize the fact, we love a person because of their unique qualities and in this case I did not know which qualities to love about him because they have all been lost. I have a hate/love relationship with the tsundere characters (LANCE!♥) but like I can't put my finger around the tsundere Yeonho. I know that with age, people change but then Yeonho was sort of matured when he was 18 in the VN in terms of his intelligence(except for his obsession and dependent personality) and we treated him like a little boy. I understand his inferiority complex is because of that. But i do not think Yeonho would take that as an attack on his self-esteem because of his intelligence. (he clearly had more sense of reality than Red) but then idk few years later having this personality is very unreal. He seems still caring but that's just it. It is like there is no connection at all. Above all, the story gets kind of steamy too (if you know what I mean) but then that gave me a shock because why? It just changes your perception of what you have of him immensely. In comparision to the Mystic Messenger DLC, Yoosung's progression was good from the original to the DLC. It was smooth, it related to his past properly and it was reasonable. Personal opinion: Yeonho was a bit intelligent than Yoosung emotionally and I'm sure he would have got out of this complex immediately. Voice Acting I think the voice acting was pretty good. Voice of Yeonho in the original VN was a bit high pitched than in this one. It must have been a relief to the voice actor because in reality it is very difficult to change your pitch and talk all the time. He describes his hell in the free talk which is admirable to listen to because of the effort. Compared to the original VN "Yeonho" and the Mystic Messenger "Yoosung", I found that ‎Shim Gyuhyuk did a good job in mystic messenger with the pitch changing technique. Nam Doh-Hyeong did his best with it as well. Conclusion I personally do not prefer office worker setting to certain characters except when they are kind of old and way matured. So I am unsure if this setting can be related to Yeonho, this would obviously work with Yuri, Lance and maybe Tei but not the rest really. Nevertheless, good effort by the voice actor even though the story is a bit disoriented with the original VN , it is still pretty tolerable.
