Campaign is cheap in Christmas sale, BUT you can't play it without the Nevada Map!
Can't refund it because Steam said I already played it for more than 2 hours, which is a big fat lie because since I didn't have access to the DLC because of the missing map (with I think is with almost 25€ on winter sale STILL WAY to expansive!!)
I played the DLC not a single second!!

Good idea, good docs and missions, crap implementation. There's always someone that fails causing you to restart the mission. I never completed the campaign got stuck at one of the missions and tried 8 times before giving up. If it's not the incapable brits in their Tornado's failing to do their mission it's the dumb B1's, if not them it's the chicken pilots, and in the random event that it so happens that everyone manages to hit their targets it's your wingman shooting an AIM-120C at you. Would like a refund. No surprise here that it's ED who created this, glad I haven't bought the F-16, F/A-18 and carrier. Stick to professionals like Heatblur, at least they don't charge you for campaigns that are better than this.

After 2 missions accomplished: if you're able to fly a F-15C as an mediocre at least, it's very nice and detailed campaign, with good documentation. Some tricks are on, but it's the way it's to be :-)

One might no think much about a "Red Flag" campaign, but here you'll have the biggest air battles in all F-15 campaigns!! So much going on, that you'll positively be Situational Awareness saturated!
THAT is pretty dope!

One-sentence review: Ignore the negative reviews (I'll explain why); this is an excellent campaign to build confidence and skill for a newish Eagle driver.
Full review: I say "newish" Eagle driver because you do need to know what you're doing before you start; this is not a tutorial campaign. This is a great campaign for someone like me, who knew how to operate the F-15's systems but wasn't necessarily confident in my ability to use them well under pressure. The Red Flag campaign does what Red Flag is supposed to: it subjects the pilot to pressure in an environment in which it is safe to fail. This, in turn, builds confidence and allows the pilot to tackle other challenges more effectively.
From the sounds of other reviews, apparently older versions of the campaign could fail the missions if certain success conditions--over which the pilot sometimes had little control--weren't met. As of August 2021, that's not the case. Now, you automatically succeed at the mission every time, making the player the arbiter of success or failure. If you feel like you want to retry the last mission in order to get more practice, you can--but if you feel that you accomplished the learning objective even if you got "killed," you can just debrief, learn your lessons, and move on, much like you would in a real Red Flag exercise.
The voiceovers, briefing documents, and kneeboard cards are fairly simple and straightforward (by comparison to, say, Zone 5), but they're very well done and add greatly to the immersion. It felt like there was a storyline to my campaign beyond what the official storyline actually was, as I could readily imagine a budding rivalry between my F-15 flight and the other one from our squadron.
The downside, of course, is that this requires the Nevada map, which may put this campaign in an awkward place for many new F-15 pilots who may not be sure how much money they want to pour into DCS. If, like me, however, you've realized that you love this sim and are willing to invest in the Nevada map for not just this but the many other great missions and campaigns in Nevada, this campaign is a no-brainer to recommend. I've learned a ton from this campaign, not just about how to use the F-15C effectively but also about my A-A tactics in general.

Do not buy this campaign. It is a great campaign with good missions and lots of supporting docs like maps and lineup cards, but mission success triggers that are beyond your control and a bug in Mission 6 make it impossible to complete the campaign. I have played Mission 6 at least 15 times but cannot succeed and progress beyond it because the B-1 bombers do not bomb their targets--they just fly around the target area and go home without releasing ordnance. This is a known issue that EA has not corrected, and Steam refused to refund my money because I played for more than 2 hours uncovering the issue. I originally got through mission 5 okay, but I just failed 6 times in a row because a bomber was shot down by a SAM and/or failed to hit its target. I had 6 kills and we cleared the airspace of enemy fighters, but a SAM got a bomber and I failed to meet success criteria. This campaign doesn't work.
