The game doesn’t rely on cheap jumpscares—instead, it creates an oppressive atmosphere through disturbing imagery, eerie sound design, and a creeping sense of guilt that seeps into the protagonist’s world.
The horror peaks in its surreal, nightmarish sequences, where reality distorts and Price’s psyche unravels. The sound design—distorted whispers, sudden screeches, and ominous droning—keeps you on edge, while grotesque visual shifts make each scene unpredictable. Moments like dimly lit corridors morphing into twisted nightmares or faces melting into monstrous grins hit hard, harder than that damn elephant.
With a short runtime, Distraint ensures every moment counts, steadily dragging you deeper into its suffocating horror. If you love psychological terror that lingers long after playing, this is a must-experience. I wish this was longer but it's well written.
