Well i have got to say i have never had a VRC pro engine only a fef-3 from smoke box, i have got to say this is a realistic engine, very worth it, but i say it's easy for some reason. Pros- Good Scenarios with it, nice smooth operation, realistic sounds on outside and inside, realistic weathered freight cars, air hoses on the freight/engine, makes it feel like you are acctually driving a train. Cons- Bad horn and bell, cannot really make it up hill if you go fast with it, easy startup, too weathered freight cars, does not come in simple format/ medium diffculty train format. So yes this is a really good train to have! keep up the great work virtual rail creations!

It might be a nice looking train but it's really hard to start up and there is no easy mode. Witch is really bad. I can not recommend this loco.

Looks great at first glance! Succeeded in starting up the C30-7 in Expert mode but, the Field Generator Switch seems to be not working although the manual says it must be ON. Seems to be ON by default. Helpful You Tube video for expert startup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osbQvB_SDck One question. Does CLOSE mean circuit breakers are switched ON ? According to the manual Yes.

This dlc is absolutely stunning in the fact that an actual old school CSX locomotive exists. This loco dlc should have had the CSX Coal gondolas instead of the SD80MAC loco dlc. I can't even describe with words how great this dlc truly is. The most important part of the C30-7 is the overall appearance of the locomotive itself. There are too many locos that just didn't get my approval. Mostly the modern locomotives that either look ugly or perform ugly. The C30-7 reminds me that there are still locomotives out there that look very amazing and most of those locos aren't even from the middle 20th century.

This is a fine example of what we SHOULD be seeing with stuff made in 2023, and yet are not. This model is overall excellent, barring certain reused sounds (That bell is SO overused). Great start up, overall awesome simulation, and just a real kick to play around with. I don't even like CSX! LOL Well worth checking out if you don't already have it.

Got it when it first dropped...... No problems. I love the rust color. Ive made some great consists with them already..... All in all its a dope DLC. You wont be disappointed.

By far the best sounding and operating locomotive I've ever had the pleasure of driving in TS. I don't really need to say anything else since it seems everyone else has covered it properly. Worth every cent!!

Train Simulator: CSX C30-7 Loco Add-On — Initial thoughts on this DLC add-on. Rather well detailed model locomotive and rolling stock. I love the "Pro" series and this model is no exception. I get a buzz from the engine cold start up and as the C30-7 pulls forward, you get a feel for the flow of power through this mighty Dash-7 model. A lot of auxillary functions work as well, mainly from the In-cab, but thats normal for Pro series. Externally the CSX C30-7 looks great and from In-cab view, the same high level of detail is applied. I would highly recommend this TS2017 DLC.
