I did wonder if Skyhook could deliver the goods with a GWR steam loco. They can. A must for fans of GWR and UK steam.

An excellent piece of DLC - amongst the best steam engines available for TS. Everything works - cab light, large and small vacuum injectors, train heating, firebox cover etc, plus lovely sounds, and smoke and steam effects. Also you get Collett coaches in GWR shirt button livery. This is a pro-level loco, but perhaps a little more forgiving than some. If you make your own GWR freeroams or create GWR scenarios this is a must piece of DLC or if you just want to run a lovely steam engine, pick this up in a sale and you can't go wrong. Very highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful locomotive as well as beautiful coaches. The coal looks nice and realistic and she thunders down the line brilliantly with her coaches. Truly a must for anyone's Train Simulator, whether you're a British train, American train or German train fan.

Here is an example of one of the lesser known engines of TSC24. Pros: A Very nice model to look at. Comes with its own carriages. Cons: Sounds are ripped straight from the castle. Understandable due to no star classes running. No BR liverys. Overall, this is an interesting locomotive to get. But I would still recommend it.

This is a very nice locomotive and I definitely reccomend it. It's a real joy to drive. The only thing, however, is the fact that the sounds are just a "copy and paste" from the Castle Class. When the Riviera Line in the Fifties came out, the Castles, Kings, Halls and Granges all had different and unique sounds to them, but the Star Class' sounds are an exact copy of the Castle's. But other than this, it's amazing, and it's not like the sounds are bad, they're still amazing! Maybe something for an update in the future? I highly reccomend this beautifully made locomotive, especially if you're a GWR fan!

I love the Star class first drive was a Quick Drive from Kingswear to Newton Abbot with 12 Collett coaches. The loco felt very much like a castle but visually different. The loco looks stunning and performs superbly, found the sound to really add to the experience. The two tone whistle sounds great. Add this to the Saint and TPO add-on and you have some stunning locos to add the the GWR collection. Highly recommend and looking forward to the scenarios for these engines.

Overall a very well done steam engine. Looks and colours are good, the model is nicely detailed. The sounds are not from an actual Star - but since no Star is currently in operation to get sounds from, this can be forgiven. The best part is perhaps the scenarios which are engaging, and have a lot of AI trains running, making them much more immersive than average scenarios. It helps of course that the Riviera in the 50s route comes with a lot of different steam engines - giving the scenario authors for other DLC on this route a lot of stock to work with. This has been put to very good use in the scenarios for the Star and makes the package all the more attractive for it!

I am so pleased I was too impatient to wait for other peoples reviews. It is an excellent locomotive, I played it in "Realistic" mode and have just completed scenario no.2 "A Morning Star in the Morning" and very exciting it was with all those awesome "AI" trains, around Newton Abbot and all the way to Exeter. Just did the third scenario: "An Evening with the Evening Star'. Another fantastic scenario, on this excellent route.
