This is your average American engine, without any special features. But it's also made pretty nice. Sounds are different from the usual stuff, model looks pretty good, and it just handles pretty fine. This could very well be the best American diesel engine I have.

Great locomotive! I totally recommend it and in my opinion is one of the best Amtrak locos for Train Simulator. Not only this locomotive is used in Miami, it can be used all over the United States like in Chicago, Pacific Surfliner and Horseshoe Curve like in real life. What I also love about the Dash 8 that it has openable doors. It's so much fun and it's better with Fan Railer's mods with it's real horn. I can't believe they did a really great job on this locomotive. Totally worth it!

The Reason why i am giving this a thumbs up review is because it is highly detailed and has ditch lights and also sounds like the real thing and i love the work put in to it.

You know what? I'll give it a thumbs up. I DO, however, reccy you check it out on sale, rather than full price, as it IS quite old now. That being said, the locomotives are actually pretty decent for 2016 standards. The coaches are nothing new, we see them in EVERY Amtrak pack DTG even thinks about putting out, but they do actually come with decent ambient sounds for once. The locomotives themselves have some glaringly obvious issues, like the console clipping through the cab on the outside, but overall it runs and looks good. Sounds are not the worst, given they're not the same DTM sounds reused yet again, but they do need cleaning up as they sound like something recorded from a 1980s TV show. Overall, 7 outta 10.

Cons right off the bat:
1.) Ditchights not in correct place on the pilot (also not even attached!)
2.) When you edit the .bin file so you can turn your head all the way around in the cab, typical lazy DTG didn't even model the longhood for the cabview!
3.) Incorrect horn, bell and prime mover sounds (Can be fixed with TheAudioShack's sound pack though)
4.) Superliner coaches are NOT complete!
Pros:
1.) Nice addition to already existing Amtrak rollingstock.
2.) Nice detail on exterior.
Overall rating: 5.5/10

One of the best Amtrak locos that DTG has done. New bell sound, opening nose door, new engine sounds. One of my favorite Amtrak locos. The horn has been use on the P32AC-DM but still sounds good. With 4 scenarios for Miami to West Palm Beach, all below 50-30 minutes. Very nice loco all in all.

Pretty good engine to have. It's not the best but its good. I was hoping it would come with Amfleet Horizon Coaches and Cafe cars but it come with superliners that aren't really "complete". Can't look back in the cab (meaning can't look Hammer Head), barely any rotation to do in the cab, and horn and bell is a bit too loud inside the cab, I wish they added the Phase IV scheme (Then it be worth buying at full price but you know DTG, probably going to make it a marketplace re-paint), and this engine doesn't fit well on the Miami-West Palm route. It really should be on the Pacific Surfliner or on the Racetrack. Over all the engine is worth getting but not at full price.

This is a very good Amtrak loco that DTG ever stepped their game on with the design. The sounds are amazing and it has its own horn and bell which is not recycled but the engine sounds are good too assemuing they fit well with this loco. This beast will speed up quickly depending on the consist and if the speed limit allows. And if it is going to be used countrywide then I would expect some workshop scenarios for the other routes as well.
PROS:
-Good horn and bell sounds
-Realistic physics
-Two different liveries (Phase III and Phase V)
-Superliner stock for other routes but not made for Sliver Metor that is involved with Miami to WPB
-Good interior
-In cab signals for Northeast Corridor routes
9/10
